That boner tho

Hello, guys, I hope all of you is having an awesome weekend there! Finally going back to making serious kits again, this kit was something that I have been planning to do when coming back to serious business, but it wasn’t my first choice kit if I have, to be honest.

The only reason I got this kit is that the rerelease had included an awesome poster and extra LED lights. Finally, enough encouragement for me there, haha. Though, when this was announced and planned for (I was at the time building the RX-78-2 Ver3.0) and thought to myself why? WHY?

Why there was a need to release another RX-78-2 kit when the 3.0 is already in the wild, and why the fuck don’t Bandai give the char’s Zaku II (Origins version) the MG treatment instead? I feel the HG kit of the Zaku II was awesome, with its badass weapons and look. It made sense to give that an MG treatment instead of the gundam. Even the anime itself haven’t had the gundam revealed yet and for god’s sake, it didn’t even have had an HG release to test the market for it.

So, it really doesn’t make sense to me why Bandai thinks it’s a clever idea to make this kit instead of the other, though I admit the look of this kit wins many hearts (mine included) but not enough I feel to justify the need for this kit to exist. Regardless, when I saw the kit I felt I should give this kit a try and since I had a blast with Super Fumina I feel that I suspend my judgment and just give this one a go, it might surprise me yet.

Though there is something that so far that have been quite interesting from this new repackaging/rerelease of this kit, is this: –

Dat boner tho

Yes, the box. The very ‘happy’ look for this kit. I don’t think even I look that happy after a ‘fun’ night. Nevertheless, I feel they could’ve gotten or make a better look for the cover for this kit. Honestly, when I looked at the box I was thinking if I’m gay they should’ve stick with the original box art. It made me quite embarrassed looking at the box, to be honest.

Though even with the box being quite…..interesting. The poster that comes with the kit has been a blessing. It is a glorious beautiful thing, it really does make me have another crisis: Which sides of the poster do I use to frame, or should I blow more money to get just another kit for the poster. I was almost leaning towards the latter….well we shall see how it goes if this kit turns to be good, then I can justify getting another kit. haha.

Should I use this?
or this side?

Another good thing that I love about this kit is that, it as well comes with two LED units, yes you hear that right TWO LED units and already I was thinking of the kind of possibilities that I can have with TWO LED units. Again another crisis that I will have that I will have no idea which one to use. Well, maybe I’ll figure that out when it’s done, hopefully. If I don’t, the idea of getting one more kit sounds a lot more possible than ever.

The runner parts, colorful eh?

The runner parts though, look quite plain. Not as impressive as what I get with the RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0, but the color and the runner parts itself looks quite good. Not the most impressive, but not the worse I’ve seen so far. It is still quite hard to determine at this point still, I feel only by building can I really say more on this matter. So do look forward to that!

The manual, however, is where I feel it makes up. It is an English translated manual. If you haven’t bought the RX-78-2 Gundam (Origins Version) this would be something that you would want to consider. I feel having an English translated manuals is a must for new kits, it made the building a more engaging experience than before.

The manual, nothing much to say though, most of it is explained in the poster that was given together.

Anyways that’s all for the Unboxing and the first impressions of the RX-78-3 Gundam (Gundam the Origins Version) Special version god that is a mouthful to say, what do you guys think of the unboxing and the initial impressions?

It so far hasn’t been an impressive thing, except for the posters and the LED units. I do hope it would be a good kit, because there are good points of getting the kit but overall I have to see through building it if it is worth your hard earned cash. Anyways, I will do the full review next Sunday so do look forward to that! 😃

Again, see you guys again soon! 😊

  1. Actually, it’s RX-78-02 for the Origin RX-78, with a 0, not RX-78-2.

Another thing is I can say this is definitely worth your cash IMO, I personally think this is superior to the 3.0, and in general one of the best MG’s you can buy. You won’t regret this purchase.
