Hello, am back with a new Unboxing and my first impression of the MSA-011 [EXT] EX-S Gundam (HGUC), this kit has been something that I have planned of getting for a long while. Never have gotten myself to get this kit, mostly due to the rarity of this kit and me preferring to spend my hard-earned cash on the MG kits (it made more sense to me financially at the time)

Funnily because of me starting this blog it gave me more courage to just get this kit, finally. Though I remembered that this kit wasn’t priced this high (it was sold at Rm 85.00 / USD19.80 back when I first saw this kit in 2008) when I last saw this kit on the shelves, it kinda made me sad that I didn’t get it much earlier T_T. Regardless, even with the kit priced as such, it was still a hard kit to get, I guess I was lucky since I managed to get the last unit in the shop that I was at the time (lucky me).

The runner kits for this kit.

This is an old kit, I really don’t expect this to be a mind-blowing kit. Though I have been hearing pretty good things about this kit, so I am looking forward to having some fun with this kit. So that’s why the first thing I noticed that when I opened this kit, is the quality of the runner kit as compared to the one we have now.

It made me think of far Gunpla have progressed since I first stumbled into this hobby.

As ever I do enjoy going through the manual, even though most of the information was in Japanese. It was filled with information and detail that I do enjoy reading through (well I was just looking through the illustrations only, I can’t read no Japanese….haha). This is probably one of the kits that I really wish they would remake it. I do want to read through the manual for that one if they ever do so!

The very awesome manual

To be honest, though, I’m not as excited to build this one even when I’ve heard so many good stories of this kit. Maybe my feelings would change over time? Though I don’t think it’s going to change that much. In a way, it made me think of why didn’t I get the MG version of this kit instead. Haha.

The kind of detail you get from this HG manual.

I do hope this would be able to surprise me somehow, though some of the old kits can be a bit shit. Haha. Do hope that this one is a real good one.

So, what is your own opinion and views of this kit? Have you guys as well had an experience with building this kit? I do look forward to reading through your experiences and opinions of this kit! Do discuss, I do look forward to replying and reading through your thoughts on this kit.

As well as ever you have my permission to share and as well you can show your support by liking this through any means this is posted through.

I do appreciate your support! 😉

Anyways, that’s all for this week’s Unboxing and my first impressions of this kit! Do hope to see you all again in the next let’s talk Gunpla segment on this coming Wednesday! See you guys then and as ever have an awesome Sunday morning!

As well am really looking forward to fully reviewing this kit too! 😀

P.S : Wait, I think I remembered something about today…..oh shit it’s my birthday. I just turned 31 years old today. Better go and get me some cakes now. haha

  1. First off, happy birthday!

Second off, I have no idea where you’re hearing this to be “good” because it’s not really that good, it’s mostly just big and bulky, parts separation is pretty damn good for it’s age though? Articulation is severely lacking although that’s due to the design and the exact same can be said for the MG, and build wise it’s standard for it’s age. It’s old, it looks old, and feels old, doesn’t transform either so it’s honestly just a stand display piece.

    1. Thanks for the birthday wish! 😀

Well, I heard it quite some time ago. haha, I heard it when I was having a conversation with a few other builders at the time, so I figured why not?

Though it was a long time ago, well I have to see how it goes when I have my mitts to work on this kit and see how it goes?

Though I don’t expect it to be the best kit ever, I still hope that it would be a fun one though.

    1. don’t worry I don’t take offense, For a fact I appreciate your views! Thanks!

Though, like I mention because its an old kit, I don’t expect it to be brilliant in anyway. Though there are a few old kits that is a blast to make. So this might be a suprise, though I have to give this a try before I can say anything 🙂
