Let’s Talk Gunpla vol.9

Short and sweet week. Not like the Twilight Axis anime though.

Hello and good morning to all of you! We are back with a new edition of let’s talk gunpla! This particular month we are hearing fewer announcements from Bandai in the traditional release front but there are a few kits announced from the P Bandai line and honestly, the kits announced for the P-Bandai this time was not as bad as the one we had before. Well, at least this time some restraint from P-Bandai.

Regardless, there is less to talk about this time around so we are going to have a shorter time here. Well, at least it’s not going to be as short as the twilight Axis’s anime.

So, let’s get on with the kits eh?

HG 1/144 Byarlant Isolde

Release Date: 2017/09

Estimated price: SGD 37.00* (MYR 116.01* / USD $27.07*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

The first kit is from the Twilight ‘trailer’ axis anime series. A kit that I hope it’s not as short as how the anime was. Regardless the kit looks really tasty with the new colour scheme and from the stills there were a lot of changes made from the Byarlant Custom that was released back 2012. With a different set of the head unit (as compared to the original and the custom) and a much nicer leg unit, it really kind of made this version of the Byarlant looked a lot more like the original Byarlant (that was never given an official HG release, unfortunately) then the custom (though I still do love how the custom looks like overall).

It really does look awesome tbh

I really don’t understand how they could release this and the Zaku III as a premium release tho. I thought releasing them as a more traditional release that would really help to promote the anime (the short anime). Then again why am I surprised? Them trying to take on a different approach with the anime really reflects on the kits that they are releasing (The Gundam Tristan), that looks good but overall a disappointment.

The changes that were made as compared to what you get in the HG Byarlant Custom

I really hope that isn’t the case with this one, because I do genuinely like this one. Really because I think it looked awesome and because of….

That scene really gets me. So please I beg of you bandai don’t fuck this one up.

HG 1/144 Efreet Custom

Release Date: 2017/10

Estimated price: SGD 24.00* (MYR 75.25* / USD $17.56*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

What a badass looking kit.

This one is a kit that I have expected Bandai to release it as a Premium release. With the popularity of the RE/100 Efreet Custom has been for Bandai it wasn’t a surprise to see this to be released as a P-Bandai release. Though I might not like the price that this might fetch because of the P Bandai tag, it is still would be awesome to finally have it in some form.

Though this one really actually made sense as compared to the others to be released as a P-Bandai kit, to be honest.

Dat pose tho

Now with this announced, it has given me a real good reason to get the RE/100 kit, so I can finally put this two side by side with each other. This would make an awesome addition to my gunpla family for sure!

Plus, just look at how awesome this kit looks.

ooh baby come home to me please.

Life just couldn’t get better then this.

MG 1/100 MS-06R-1 Breniss Ox’s Zaku II

Release Date: 2017/11

Estimated price: SGD 60.00* (MYR 188.12* / USD $43.90*)

*The price is subject to change, depending of the situation.

I have never really come across a standard colored Zaku II High mobility unit tbh.

Finally, another Zaku II unit form the Ace Pilot Log P-Bandai exclusive series that started in late May this year. It has already given some awesome looking Zakus, and this one as well is of no exception. I am looking forward to this kit because the pilot for this mobile suit is apparently in the Gundam MSV lore; assigned as the instructor for Johnny Ridden. He was an ace that was called the “One shot killer” and a pilot that always credit his kills to his wingman. A good guy through and through.

As I was reading through his bio (from the Gundam wikia) I do enjoy the fact that he is a good guy overall and he is a pretty awesome pilot too.

and given a pretty awesome bazooka

As well I can see he was given a pretty awesome treatment from the P-Bandai people aswell, because this kit looked awesome overall. Though from the lore I know that the pilot requested that his suit to be kept at its original colours, I can’t deny that this is my first time looking at the Green Zaku R-1 and thought to myself there is never anything greater out there than this.

The decals on this looks on point too, and fuck yes, I’m excited for this one for sure.

All of them sweet decals

Zakus are always on my top wants list.

Like I said before, I am a ZEON SOLDIER! SEIG ZEON!!!!!!!

Lol that got a bit over board there, but damn I do need to take a plane to Singapore and just buy em. Well when it’s out anyway.

Anyways, that’s all the announcement and the planned release of all the upcoming P-Bandai releases! So, what do you guys think of the announcement for this round? I’m actually am looking forward to the Efreet custom and the Breniss Ox’s Zaku II tbh. Those two is really something that I would want to have in my collection.

  1. Isolde…

I really want it, but with all the other P-Bandai releases, getting it is near impossible for me now. Sad life, why does P-Bandai pain us all.

Efreet Kai also being P-Bandai makes me salty because now I don’t have anyone to display with my Blue Destiny EXAM. 😦
