The Jegan Special
Hello and a very good day to all of you amazing readers! We are back with the 17th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla! Today we are going back to the P-Bandai JP to talk about announcements that we didn’t manage to cover last time since there were a lot of awesome announcement for the traditional release last week.
This week would be something of a special in our opinion because we would talk about the announcement for many variants that was announced for the Jegan! The re-releases Jegan Variants and the new release Jegan variants, that is all apart of the Thanks Jagan Special campaign by P-Bandai

Yes, you heard that right, the special P-Bandai campaign to promote the many variants of the Jegan Mobile Suits. Without further ado let’s get into it!
HGUC 1/144 RGM-89J Jegan normal type (F91Ver.) Re-release

Re-Release Date: 2017/11 (Original Release Date: Feb 2015)
Estimated price: JPY 1,836* (MYR 70.56* / USD $16.78*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

We think there were a lot of occasions on this blog and in this let’s talk Gunpla series that we’ve talked about getting more kits based on mobile suits from the F91 series. Honestly, we are surprised to know that we did get some kits back in Feb 2015. Though knowingly it is from the ‘wonderful’ P-Bandai chaps, knowing that we are honestly quite pleased.
And to know they are Re-Releasing these kits makes us quite happy as well.

The kit is self is based from the HGUC 1/144 RGM-89 Jegan (released back in August 2009) with some minor differences, like new moulds for the Vulcan pods, backpack and a new mould for the leg unit. As well, the redesigned weapons and shield, those two really looks good. Though it is more akin to the normal Jegan as we can see through the promotional stills.
Not much to get us excited for, to be honest, but it is good that this is included. We might consider getting this, but not one that is high up on our wants list. So, we are giving this a 9/10 we might get get this eventually but for now we will wait.

HGUC 1/144 RGM-89R Jegan A type (F91Ver.) Re-release

Re-Release Date: 2017/11 (Original Release Date: Feb 2015)
Estimated price: JPY 1,836* (MYR 70.56* / USD $16.78*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

Unlike the RGM-89J Jegan Normal type, this looks more exciting. Though looking at this we are having some strong feelings about it, as this is looks better as a traditional release as a P-Bandai item. Regardless, it is good to see more variants of the Jegan from the F91 series. It’s better to get something than nothing at all I suppose.
This kit is itself looks awesome, still mostly based on the HGUC Jegan kit, but for this, it’s getting newer moulds for its shoulder armour, the redesigned head Vulcan pod, left forearm arm grenade rack, leg armour/thrusters and new backpack unit. Actually, when we think about it, with all these new things that this kit is getting it looks like it could be like a more formal release.
Actually, when we think about it, with all these new things that this kit is getting it looks like it could be like a more formal release.

Hmm, it could be just us eh?
Regardless, we love the look of this kit. We like it so much that we think that we will definitely be adding this to our collection. So, this takes the 10/10 we will defos get.

HGUC 1/144 RGM-89M Jegan B type (F91 Ver.) Re-release

Re-Release Date: 2017/11 (Original Release Date: Feb, 2015)
Estimated price: JPY 1,836* (MYR 70.56* / USD $16.78*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

On to the final F91 Jegan kits re-releases… is this, the HGUC 1/144 RGM-89M Jegan B Type. The B type is another kit from the F91 series that really is given quite a distinctive face lift as compared to the other two. So distinctive the changes made, that when we look at this kit and see it looking like a Jegan but at the same time looking nothing like it.
Does that make sense?
Anyways going back to the kit. There is a lot of new moulds that was given for this kit, mainly you can see it on the main body, the Vulcan pods, the backpack, the beam sabre mount rack and the waist missile launcher. As well like the A Type, the B Type is given the same beam rifle and the shield system.

Looking back at how awesome this looks, we honestly feel that ia a definate must get for us. so another 10/10 for this kit.

Now with the F91 Jegans done let’s move on to the final re-release Jegan kit.
HGUC 1/144 RGM-89S Stark Jegan (CCA – MSV Ver.) Re-release

Re-Release Date: 2017/11 (Original Release Date: June 2015)
Estimated price: JPY 2,484* (MYR 94.86* / USD $22.55*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

Have you ever looked at the Stark Jegan and thought to yourself that it needed more firepower than what it already had? If your answer is yes, you are in luck, because P-Bandai has heard your prayers and is finally giving you this: –
The Stark Jegan (CCA – MSV Version) or the one we would like to call it the Stark Jegan the overcompensating version.

This kit is based from the HGUC 1/144 RGM-89S Stark Jegan, as you can see from the promotional stills, the first thing that you would notice is yes the inclusion of the big ass missiles, but there are other changes that are made for this kit, like a new molds for the body head, a waist missile rack (akin to what you get on the normal Jegan HGUC kit) and as well they added an additional mount on the waist armour for it to have the ability to mount the beam rifle on the side armour.

We might sound like we are shitting on this kit, but honestly, we like how this looked as compared to the normal Stark Jegan kit. We love how the kit looked overall, the changes made on both the head unit and the body unit does give the kit a more appealing look. Not to mention them huge missiles that they gave this kit, look at them huge missiles man…..

Sexy ain’t it?
After looking at this further, makes us really want this kit badly. Like so badly right now. So, this gets 10/10 for sure man.
That’s all for the Re-release section of this, now let’s get into the new ones. Let’s start with: –
HGUC 1/144 RGM-89D Jegan D type (Pico Altidore custom unit)

Release Date: 2017/11
Estimated price: JPY 1,728* (MYR 65.99* / USD $15.68*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

We haven’t have read the UC0094 Across the sky manga but looking at this kit makes us feel ashamed why we haven’t done so. This kit looks good, no scratch that, this kit looks beautiful. I have never seen a black kit (well from the descriptions it mentioned dark purple, but I guess it’s more black then purple tbh) and immediately fall in love with it, this is honestly a first black (its dark purple, can’t you guys see it?) that we really love.
Just look at it,

Not many changes made for this kit, besides on the shoulder armour that was taken from the RGM-89E Jegan Ecoas and the awesome colour scheme. It was however given more weapons and an additional manipulator (hand unit) unit for it to be able to hold two weapons at a time. as shown in the picture below.

A really nice additional add to this kit indeed. Nice job on this one P-Bandai, you make us give this one a 10/10 we definitely get badge too, keep it up guys, keep it up.
This is honestly a P-Bandai kit that shouldn’t be missed.
The next one, however, is one of………. Let’s just first get into this one.
HGUC 1/144 RGM-89 Jegan (Burnham’s version) (Twilight Axis HG)

Release Date: 2017/11
Estimated price: JPY 1,944* (MYR 74.23* / USD $17.64*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

Enter another kit from the Twilight Axis anime that is based from the HGUC 1/144 RGM-89 Jegan, the Jegan Burnham custom units. Honestly, we like how this one looks more than most that we talked about here. Though there isn’t much overall difference to the original HGUC Jegan kit, the changes made on the colour scheme and the head unit is enough to make this kit look desirable.
We have a real trouble looking at this kit tbh, not because it’s a bad looking kit but because it is a kit that we all feel looks a lot better than the Tristan Gundam, most of the announcements for the P-Bandai Twilight Axis releases looks a lot better than the Tristan though, knowingly all of them is based on the existing kits (actually, when we think of it, the same can be said for the Tristan).

The only thing that really sets this kit a part from ost of the Jegans that was announced is really the Beam Javelin Rifle. Just look at it, isn’t it a glorious little thing?

Looks awesome, isn’t it? I love these things when they first debut it in the F91 anime. Seeing the Crossbone Vanguard Mobile Suits carrying this rifle was a joy to see (especially seeing it in action).
So yeah, this variant of the Jegan is the one that we are most excited for just because of the nice inclusion of that beam javelin rifle. With its war winning looks and that awesome beam rifle, made this kit a 10/10 a definite get for us all here.

Honestly, we are quite excited to see more kits with this awesome beam javelin rifles (or normal javelin rifles), hopefully, bandai would come to their senses and finally release all the grunt F91 Mobile Suits kits (for both the Federation and the Crossbone Vanguard units of course). That would really be the day indeed.
As well I do hope that Bandai stops teasing us with new variations of HG Jegans and just give us an MG Jegan kit already. Please stop teasing us already.
So that’s the end of this edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla, what do you guys think of the announcements so far? Which of the Jegan variants that you most excited for? We are all mostly leaning towards both the Burnham’s Jegan units and the Pico Altidore custom Jegan, but how about you guys? We do love to hear your thoughts and opinions over the kits announced.
So that’s all for the post today, we will see you guys again on this Sunday and we will be back with another edition of let’s talk gunpla next week! Thanks again for reading this, and we hope to see you again on the next post!
Ciao!

We really just had a lot of P-Bandai Jegans in the past. Both Prototype Starks shouldn’tve been premium, they’re quite different, but the others make a lot of sense. I want the TA one as well, the eye sensors are cool, the colorscheme looks sick, and the shot lancer is always a turn on.

True, but we weren’t aware they launched the F91 ver jegans back then, So to know they are re-releasing the jegans again in conjunction with the new ones really is something that i welcome full-heartedly. I do look forward to more Jegans, and hopefully an MG Jegans too.
I do agree with your concerns to both the prototype stark and for the TA Jegan that shouldn’t be Premium bandai man…
