Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.18

When P-Bandai P-Bandai-ed itself

Hello and a very good day to our fellow readers! We are back with another edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla! Today in our eighteenth edition we will be covering P-Bandai JP to check out the releases that were announced recently and ones that we didn’t manage to cover the last time we made this post.

There is a lot of kits that was announced actually, hopefully, we can manage to cover it all by next week. Hopefully, haha.

The kits that we will be talking about this week is mostly the ones from the awesome Gundam build fighters battleouge anime episode 2, I’m sure most of you here have watched this awesome spinoff series. What do you guys think of Episode 2? We here feel that it wasn’t as good as the 1st episode if we may be honest. Though we do look forward to the 3rd one regardless, we do hope that it will have more awesome battle sequences and awesome looking kits!

Regardless, it was still an entertaining episode, as well it was filled with a lot of awesome variations of the existing kits and an awesome final fight sequence. Looking at all the Mobile Suit that was showcased in the episode we do have a feeling that we will be seeing some of it as a P-Bandai exclusive.

What do you know, P-Bandai didn’t disappoint in this department indeed. So let us talk about the ones that were announced, shall we?

And the first from the list is this: –

HG 1/144 Gundam Dryon III (HGBF)

HG 1/144 Gundam Dryon III (HGBF)

Release Date: 2017/12

Estimated price: JPY 3,024* (MYR 113.80* / USD $27.17*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

This dons the black colour better than the Gundam Black lightning actually.

We all here remember when we saw the Gundam Tryon III revealed in Gundam Build Fighters Try (Episode 14) for the first time and thought to ourselves what the flying fuck.

What a glorious thing this! This Mobile Suit was really paying homage to the Super Robot series and what a Mobile Suit that they based this on, the ZZ Gundam. Its really hillarious to see them just turning the ZZ into something….well we managed to find a vid in youtube for you to better understand what we ment.

<credits to the brave hobbyist for the awesome compilation of this>

Yes, they finally have done it. A Gundam that behaves and looks like something from a Super Robot anime. When the Gundam Build Fighters TRY started, never in our feeble imagination that we thought they would actually do this. Especially basing this monster with the ZZ Gundam. Honestly, though, it was a great idea to make this variant from the ZZ Gundam, since un-transformed it looks like Mecha from a Super Robot series.

So in someway it is fitting that they used the ZZ Gundam.

Admittedly we aren’t taken by the Tryon III when it was first revealed, mainly is due to its very colourful colour (Though because of its colour, this kit is quite popular with kids, taken from my own observations). Thanks to the show, we finally would be able to have the version that looks cool and something that we would be proud to display.

Since it has a very limited release, all the more reasons to not miss this one.

Shows how much you can do with the ZZ platform.

Honestly, the black does make it look bad ass.

The only problem that we have with this kit, is that there is not much difference in between this and the Tryon III. The only notable difference that we can tell is really from its colour, its not really an serious issue but we do think that it would be awesome if they were to include some new equipments to make this more appealing (then again in the anime they don’t show that this kit has more new equipments).

Regardless, the colour is enough to make us to finally appriciate the awesomeness of this kit.

Seeing it in this awesome pose with that awesome colour makes it looks more awesome than the normal version.

HG 1/144 Weiss Barzam (HGBF)

HG 1/144 Weiss Barzam (HGBF)

Release Date: 2017/12

Estimated price: JPY 1,620* (MYR 60.90* / USD $15.53*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

Strangely with this colour, it looks a lot sexier as compared to the titans colour ver.

Another kit that we will be talking about in the list is as well from the same episode. though the Weiss Barzam is mostly acts as the fodder suits before the eventual reveal of the final boss. We do feel that the barzam deserves to be made into a P-Bandai exclusive. Its not everyday we would be able to see fodder units made into P-Bandai kits.

From the promotional stills, it is obvious that this kit is based from the recently released HG 1/144 RMS-154 Barzam (HGUC), with no major changes made for this kit and like how it was with the Dryon III the only obvious change then its counterpart is the colour.

In some way, you do look like the Gundam MKII, but the retarded version of it.

Though admittedly the colours on the Weiss Barzam does to be quite similar to the one on the Gundam MKII (AEUG) version. Just the colour tweak is enough to make this kit look different, though it does makes us think of the many great what if’s. We wonder if this is how it would look like if this MS fall into AEUG hands. Hmm, it does give us something to think about indeed.

Even with the changes made on this kit, we are still aren’t taken by it. It does make the kit looks sexy but it is not as sexy as the next one that we will be talking about. If we would to rate on the scale of our wants, we rate this to a 7/10;a good kit but not as interesting we would take this to be.

Love this pose, but not enough to make us feel like we should be getting this one.

Really its not as interesting or as exciting as the

HG 1/144 Weiss Sinanju (HGBF)

HG 1/144 Weiss Sinanju (HGBF)

Release Date: 2017/12

Estimated price: JPY 2,808* (MYR 105.56* / USD $25.18*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

Look at that sexy Sinanju.

this. The Weiss Sinanju, really the one that we all have to stop for awhile to admire its pure white beautiful body. What a kit to behold this. Though there is alot to talk about, but you guys just first look at this;

The dual wielding sword/shield weapon

What a beautiful kit this is.

Ok, coming back to the kit the Weiss Sinanju is also a kit that was based from the 2nd episode of the Battlouge anime and this was the final boss that both Minato Sakai and Yuuma Kousaka had to face and what a final boss this is. Not to go so far but we all feel that if they were to face this alone they would definitely get their asses kicked badly.

The only thing that is missing herein this picture is the awesome looking beam rifle

As we were looking through the stills, we can deduce that this kit is mostly based from the HG 1/144 MSN-06S Sinanju (HGUC). Although it is a kit based from the HGUC Sinanju, the Weiss Sinanju is actually a kit that is stripped bare from its existing ranged weapons and is given close-range assault weapons instead. The shield was the highlight for this awesome kit, we all loved how the shield /dual sword looked in the anime and in the promotional still (not to mention the big ass sword that this kit was given), but to us the only real reason that we would get this kit is really due of its colour. The white and the metallic red in this kit really make the kit look oh so sexy.

The colour does give the Weiss Sinanju a more badass look and depth as compared to the bog standard Sinanju. In fact, we think this looks a lot better than the Stein and we really prefer this look as compared to the red Sinanju.

That big ass sword looks awesome too.

This is a kit we are really looking forward to and possibly getting, so a 10/10 a definite must get for us.

We have covered all of the HGBF announcements and lets us now get to the last from our list and the one from the Gundam OO spinoff series.

MG 1/100 GNX-604T GN-X Advance (Deborah Galliana Custom)

MG 1/100 GNX-604T GN-X Advance (Deborah Galliana Custom)

Release Date: 2017/11

Estimated price: JPY 4,536* (MYR 170.68* / USD $40.70*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

The crimson red GN-X

Yes, this the GNX-T 604T GN-X Advance (Deborah Galliana Custom), aka the crimson red GN-X. Damn you Bandai. We only just recently saw the GN-X Advanced (we first reveal this kit in Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.5) launched here in Malaysia ad we haven’t gotten around to buying them. You already dropped another one in our laps, thanks, P-Bandai.

Though from what we can see here, bandai managed to pull off it usual stunt. As i mentioned from the caption above its the simple case when P-Bandai, P-Bandai-ed itself.

Anyways going back to the kit, we can see that there is’nt much diffence between this and the standard GN-X Advance that we can see here. It’s still looked awesome undoubtedly, but to just have changes in colour isn’t going to help much to make us want to get this one.

Having it in red does make it better.

Even with that being said, we can’t deny that this does look better (in terms of colour atleast) than the bog standard (MG) GN-X Advance but its still not winning any hearts for us. In the end we felt that it really depends if the standard GN-X Advance (when we get it of course) is fun to build or not. Maybe then we might consider getting this version of the GN-X Advance.

For this one though, we are giving it an 8/10 its an interesting kit but one that we will pass, for now.

But we’ll get the normal version first.

So thats about it with all the announcements that we are covering for this week, what are your honest thoughts of the kits announced? Is there any from the list that caught your fancy? Honestly, there isn’t much this time that really gets us excited for, except for the Weiss Sinanju tbh. Regardless we all do look forward to more announcements.

but speaking about the OO series, We are still praying that we will eventually get an Gundam Dynames (MG). We have been dreaming of building that one since the show ended. We do hope bandai hears our prayers this time. Fingers Crossed!

That’s all we have for you guys this time for this weeks edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla. We do hope to see you again on the next post! Have an awesome week and a hopefully an awesome time building! See ya!

  1. Dryon III is basically a Tryon 3 with a new head and completely in black, the kit itself is sticker hell, all the runners are black and all the color is stickers, color separation is no better than a vintage kit.

I still want it though, just like everything else here. But the Sinanju Weiss is what I want the absolute most out of the bunch.

    1. Oh yes, the same here brotha. I am so looking forward to the Weiss Sinanju.

Yes, I agree with the Dryon III and the Tryon III comparison. They are definitely the same thing. Though I prefer the colour on the Dryon more tbh.
