Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.39

Hi, ho Silver!

Hello and welcome to a new let’s talk gunpla! We are back and in this 39th volume of this segment, we will be covering news and announcements from the P-Bandai segment! We are getting a lot of gunpla news this week and goddamn have you guys watched the new Gundam Build Divers yet? The opening episode is really fucking amazing. Really after that action-filled opening episode, we are already looking forward to more Gundam Build Diver episodes! Though we should commend Bandai in launching a series that by far the most mysterious as well, there is a lot of speculations going around but up until we see more of it in the upcoming episodes this is really one anime that is the most exciting to come out from Bandai/Sunrise yet!

Oh, let’s not forget the range of kit that was announced in conjunction with the release of the awesome anime! There is just so much awesome this time around, however, we are not going to talk about it this week. As per mentioned earlier, we are going to be covering details of the discreet P-Bandai announcements instead.

Because P-Bandai has been announcing quite a few interesting P-Bandai kits, one that has been catching our eyes and we do wonder if this round of announcements are as interesting as the retail announcements. So without further ado let’s get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Graze Schild and Graze [Arianrhod Custom set] (HGIBO)

The badass pair

With the end of the anime last year, we were pretty sure that P-Bandai would stop announcing new kits for the IBO line and go back focusing on milking newer or the UC franchise. So when this was announced, you can imagine all of us here were pretty surprised hearing Bandai still releasing HGIBO kits. So we are quite excited for more HGIBO’s.

Then after going through the announcement then we realize that this set of Graze’s is being released under the P-Bandai line. FML.

Though this is a P-Bandai it still looks glorious as hell.

Anyways, to know that we are getting a set (yes we are getting a pair of Graze’s) of Graze’s does make us feel quite excited. Especially to see the Graze Schild and the Arianrhod Custom Graze to be finally released to a mas……. sorry to a limited market. Though when looking at the both of them I really can’t help to love the overall design of the Graze Schild, when we look at it we can’t help to notice that the design of the Schild is somewhat inspired a bit from the American Football. Though at first, we thought yeah, this might be more heavily inspired by a medieval period warrior kind of thing but the inclusion of the ‘go faster’ stripe on the forehead and on the shield really make it look more like an athlete than a warrior.

Just simply brilliant this.

Regardless, we do think the Schild does look brilliant overall. Not to mention this set as well comes with a huge array of weapon sets. Though really the highlight of all of these awesome weapons is really that brilliant looking shield. Honestly, this kit’s price of admission is paid 10 fold by just including that awesome looking shield. The more we look at this the more we are quite excited for it, even if it is a P-Bandai kit. We can’t deny the awesomeness this kit exudes.

Definitely one to watch this is.

look that awesome types of equipment this comes with

I’m loving this silver pirate

In this couple of weeks, P-Bandai has been quite aggressive offering us a wide array of its HGUC Crossbone Gundam re-releases, we wondered why Bandai was promoting its re-releases up until we came across this. The one that we really didn’t expect P-Bandai would actually release; another Crossbone Gundam variant from the latest chapter from the Crossbone Gundam saga, the RX-0 variant.

Honestly, even with the previous retail version (and all of its awesome P-Bandai variants), we haven’t really got around to build or even make one, but after looking at how awesome this variant is, we really can’t help to feel that this one might be our first! Why you may ask? Just take a look at all of that silver-y goodness!

This is one shiny gundam

The silver color scheme really is looking pretty fly for this variant and not to mention as well the huge array of equipment’s this one gets. A really impressive kit this one is looking to be. Though it is obvious that this is mostly based on the existing HGUC XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam (Nov 2014 Release) with a few exceptions in terms of its overall look, color and its weapon set.

Though looking back at all the previous Crossbone Gundam kit releases really makes me wonder if they would ever release a Crossbone Gundam anime…..because with the amount of love that they are giving the Crossbone, it really makes us wonder why they haven’t planned for one because at this rate they might as well.

The best part of this kit.

Hopefully, this does well enough for Bandai to consider doing a Crossbone Gundam Anime, better if they aswell plan for a proper Remake of the F91 series.

RE/100 1/100 MSA-005K Guncannon Detector (Z Gundam-MSV Version)

RE/100 1/100 MSA-005K Guncannon Detector (Z Gundam-MSV Version)

Release Date: 2018/04

Estimated price: JPY 4,104 * (MYR 147.06* / USD $37.59*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

To see the Guncannon Detector in red does remind us of the original Guncannon in many ways.

The last one on the list of the kits that was announced is something that we kind of could see this coming a mile away. We knew that this kit will be eventually be announced but we didn’t expect is P-Bandai to announce this in the same month that we are getting the retail release of the RE/100 Guncannon Detector, we naively thought P-Bandai would wait a month or two to announce this.

Then again this is the same company that announced and released the GM Command Space-Variant well before the retail release was even announced for….So I guess we shouldn’t be THAT surprised about that, haha….

Char would love this MS very much if he ever sees this

Anyways, unlike the other two kits that we talked about before, the P-Bandai’s variant of the Guncannon Detector doesn’t seem to have anything new to offer besides a different color scheme then the retail variant. We were really trying our very best to find any difference but the only thing that we can see here is just the color.

Though we do admit the color on this Guncannon Detector really is a good homage to the original One Year War Guncannon. The red color scheme really suits it well, we would even say that the colors here suit the kit better than the one that we saw on the retail variant. Although we can’t really comment on the kit in itself and this is really one that we have to wait for the retail release to know either this is worth getting or not.

Although this has nothing much to offer, it is an impressive kit to just look at, we all here felt that this version really looks tons better then the retail version.

Though we do feel that the color scheme of the P-Bandai version is enough to persuade us into getting this one. Red really does suits the Guncannon Detector then the dark blue on the retail release. Whatever it is we are as well quite excited for this one as well.

With that ends our 38th episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. What do you guys think of the P-Bandai announcements this round? Honestly in our opinion this round of the P-Bandai kits are pretty ok-ish but honestly the one that really got us quite interested in the most is really the Graze Schild and the Arianrhod custom Graze’s set, that is probably a set that we are most excited for, though honestly we are disappointed to see this being released as a P-Bandai. Anyways we do want to hear your thoughts of this round’s P-Bandai announcements! We always look forward to reading and responding to your comments and thoughts on the announcements and as well to this post!

We will be back with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and we will be back as well this Sunday with a short review or a whole new Unboxing and First Impressions. We are still quite undecided on that so do look forward to that!
