Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.42

The return of the MG Advanced of Z kit

Hello, and welcome back our awesome readers to our 42nd Episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla! In these couple of weeks, we have been talking about a lot on the massive Retail Release announcements and we have been neglecting the P-Bandai side for a bit. Though we do regret not covering the P-Bandai’s since they have some pretty insanely awesome announcements coming for all of us here.

When we mean awesome, we mean ‘we are getting more advance of Z MG kits’ kind of awesome. Ha-ha.

So without further ado lets us get into the P-Bandai announcements, shall we?

HG 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam (Gundam the Origins MSD) (HGUC)

HG 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam (Gundam the Origins MSD) (HGUC)

We had to take a second look at this because we were at first confused if this is an MG variant of HG.

When we saw this listed out on the P-Bandai page we really thought that we are looking at the previous MG Heavy Gundam Re-release but when we took a closer look, we realized that this is a completely new kit released for the HG line. No, when we took an even closer inspection we realized how this looked like an upgrade to the MG line and one that we would say looked tons better then its MG counterpart.

Really we feel that the HG lineups are really getting more and more enticing as the years goes by. This is especially true for the Gundam the Origins MSD, having line-ups that retain the look of the older MSV kits of old. Though the mainline MS gets a look that is more akin to the manga (the Gundam the origins manga) side, the MSD lines, however, have been getting a more ‘old school’ anime-ish look.

What an ‘old-school’ looker this one is indeed.

Despite the similarities, this variant does look like a major improvement from its MG variant.

The HG Heavy Gundam itself does seem to retain all the characteristics of the previous HG Gundam Prototypes/variants from the Gundam the Origins MSD lineup. Though there are obvious changes in terms of the new body molds on the Heavy Gundam, its weapons system and as well some small details on the leg section of this kit. We could say that the changes made on the Origins version of the Heavy’s look so much more menacing as compared to the more cartoonish look of the MG variant. Really the red and black does suit the Heavy Gundam better then the original colors did.

Not to mention we really adore the look of the Heavy’s big ass rifle/missile hybrid there. Looking at it really make us feel like this looked like a better version of heavy arms Gatling gun, haha. Also, it seems like it inherited Gundam FSD’s shield and P-Bandai also included one of the best and cutest beam rifles out of all the Gundam Variants! 😀

Even without that awesome ENORMOUS gun, this still manages to look cool AF

Gundam the Origins MSD HG line up is really slowly becoming our favorite Gundam HG lines yet! We are really looking forward to more of em in the near future and we hope that they’ll Remake this into a better MG variant then the last!

This is one of the HG P-Bandai kits that we are so looking forward to getting for sure.

HG 1/144 MS-08TX/N Efreet Nacht (HGUC)

HG 1/144 MS-08TX/N Efreet Nacht (HGUC)

Release Date: 2018/04

Estimated Price: JPY 2,484 (MYR RM90.72* / USD $23.21*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

It does look like it could just rasengan its enemies and call in some nine tails reinforcements.

Next on the list is something that……..we really didn’t expect to see more of.

Yes, we didn’t expect to see more of the Efreet actually, especially with the Custom released not that far off. I guess with the popularity of this MS (yes we’ve been seeing a lot of custom Efreet builds out there tbh) it wouldn’t come as a surprise that they’ll make another P-Bandai HG Efreet kit, though at this rate we do feel with the love Bandai is giving the Gundam Side Stories MS’s they should just give us the MG variant of these already.

We don’t like you keep teasing us like this ya’ know Bandai.

The back is where most the awesomeness is.

Anyways, let us talk about the kit. From the outset, it does seem like the Efreet doesn’t seem to have much major change as compared to its previous iterations, but when we take a much closer look, we realized that there are many major changes P-Bandai made for this variant of the Efreet…..

and when we say changes we don’t just mean the inclusion of that ‘ninja-ish sword’ that it has.

What we meant is the inclusion of the new backpack system, changes made on the at the back skirt armor, shoulder armor and as well this is given an internal arm machine gun mount for this version. The changes made for this variant really made turn this Efreet into one of the best bloody variants, with the darker color tone and the redesigned shoulder armor parts, P-Bandai really manages to make this one look a lot more menacing as compared to its previous variant and not to say that the previous ones don’t look menacing enough, honestly, they all looked pretty manacing already.

Hello, my name is Indigo Montoya, and you killed my father. Prepare to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

God P-Bandai is really making life hard for all of us here and this is not the only one that would take your money away. Well, hold on to your horses because next one is something that we really didn’t expect to see in HG form ever and that is…..

HG 1/144 GN-X 604T Advanced GN-X (HG00)

HG 1/144 GN-X 604T Advanced GN-X (HG00)

Release Date: 2018/04

Estimated Price: JPY 2,160 (MYR RM78.88* / USD $20.18*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This is another HG that made us have to look twice. However, unlike the Heavy Gundam this we really thought is the MG re-release.

This, the HG 1/144 GN-X 604T Advanced GN-X.

Yes, this is another kit that when we saw this we thought that this is another MG re-release listing, then we saw the ‘HG’ tag behind and immediately thought ‘ehhhhhhhh, really?’.

How can we not be surprised by this news? The OO Gundam ended a long time ago and this is really one kit that we never thought that they would make an HG kit out of, really. We thought we would be content with only getting the MG variant but with the kind of love these been getting on the MG side, we can see Bandai really want’s us to get the HG variant as well.

Honestly we really had some trouble with this one.

Though we are glad to see that P-Bandai manages to retain many of the looks of the MG variant to the HG variant, it still manages to look awesome as hell here and as of how it was with the MG variant, we can see here that this kit is based on the original HG GN-X with new upgrades here and there (well the same upgrades you get on the MG variant actually). As well it sports the same weapon system as its MG counterparts.

Well to put it simply this is just the HG version of the MG variant of this P-Bandai kit. Though in all honesty, we don’t think this a bad thing, we just think its a good motivation for us to go out and really get the MG variant before its too late.

Though it does makes us wonder if Deborah’s version would be out also?

Though looking at this it does make us wonder if they are doing this like the MG variant, will the Advanced GN-X Deborah’s Variant be released right after this one? Well knowing P-Bandai, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was really.

Now coming to the Final annoucement, is something we are really excited for and that kit would be the….

MG 1/100 RX-121-2A Gundam TR-2 [Advanced Hazel]

MG 1/100 RX-121-2A Gundam TR-2 [Advanced Hazel]
Release Date: 2018/05

Estimated Price: JPY 5,940 (MYR RM216.93* / USD $55.50*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The best looking MG Hazel yet.

FINALLY, we can finally talk about this badboi!

To finally to be able to talk about the announcement of the MG Gundam TR-2 [Advanced Hazel] really makes us smile to no end. This piece of news really made us smile and this is one that made us look forward to may.

Also, this is the only kit from this list that we already know that is coming, with how the love the TR-1’s getting, we knew that this kit would be eventually announced.

Why wouldn’t they make this happen? Just look at it.

Just look at that handsome boi

What a glorious thing this really is, looking at it really made us shed beautiful sweet tears. Though those tears would not be due to its looks but more on us thinking of the money spent for this expensive thing. Plus since I haven’t had the chance to build any of the MG TR-1’s I really can’t say how this thing is going to be.

The reason why I said this is mainly because by the outset of this it does seem like it is mostly based on the same fundamentals as how the TR-1’s were based from. So we do suspect the Advanced Hazel to be fundamentally based on the Gundam MK-II Ver.2.0.

Though with that being said, not to say it had any more resemblance to the MK-II’s anymore. Unlike the TR-1 this gets an even extensive upgrade, upgrades on the new head unit, an upgraded feet units, new front waist armor/arm unit and a new attachment on the backpack unit to properly mount them shield thingy.

The new upgrades part 1
The upgrades Part 2

not to mention here that you do get an extra normal shield and extra weird shield thing.

So this is looking to be quite an interesting MG P-Bandai kit so far, one that we know many of us here would end up sacrificing our hard earned money for. Us included for sure…….

I wonder if we can sell our balls for this, with how things are going with the P-Bandai side. We don’t think we can financially afford to have kids already.

Extra hands? Well sir that is pretty useful indeed!

With that ends our 42nd episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. What do you guys think of the P-Bandai announcements? Is there anything that catches your fancy? Really this round of P-Bandai items is really making us wish that we all can shit gold so we can sell it to buy us some P-Bandai stuff.
