Hello, Kimi here and I’m back once again with a new unboxing and First Impressions of Kotobukyia’s Megami Device 05: Asra Ninja. At the start of this you might be thinking or asking yourself, ‘Eh, shouldn’t the MG GM Command’s Review Should be up?’. Yes, supposedly it should be but, am still taking my very sweet time with the Command and so far, all I could say for now is that building the Command so far has been a blast. Though I will try my very best to finish it up by this week hopefully.

So yes, we will be doing another Unboxing. However, I’m not doing an unboxing for just some normal kit we are building, this I am taking on probably one of the hardest kits to get current and one that I would say that has been one of the most exciting kits I’ve unboxed.

You can already see at the start of this of why I’m so excited for this and why I’m really taken by this kit. You would see the brilliance of this through its minimalist boxart, the awesome boobs art you’d get on this box and as well the feel and look of the matte finish of the box itself is enough to convince me, to get this awesome kit. I would say that I’ve bought a lot of PLAMO and GUNPLA kits over the years, but never in my lifetime, I bought a kit that made me feel like I’m getting a premium product on my hands.

I really love the look of the Asra Ninja’s boxart here and the feel as well.

And all that premium feel does come with a price though, RM 239.00* (USD $61.76*) which puts this on the same level with the cheapest P-Bandai MG kit that you can get at the retail stores. However, just by looking (with a lot of box fondling at the same time) at the box I can tell that this looks the part, unlike the P-Bandai’s MG Box arts.

As we move on the insides of the kit, I could say the level of quality here is also can be seen to not disappoint. The colors that you’ll get and the quality of the parts is just mesmerizing. As well I like the fact that they didn’t try to over design the Asra Ninja’s frames and everything just looks so neat. Too clean in fact, that I wonder if the same level of quality is consistent with the other kits. Since this is my first Kotobukiya kit and my first Plamo kit outside of Bandai produced kit (not to mention a kit that is manufactured in China no less), one thing that really worries me here is really the fitting issues. However, looking at the level of the quality of the runners, I could say that that might not be an issue. Then again I do have to get my hands dirty to see if this is true or not.

messy, but smells nice. I love the smell of plastic in the morning

The grey parts here does look good

Even the beige colored parts look amazing

Even though the parts weren’t highly detailed but it still looks lovely

The decals do look nice, and the eye decal looks awesome as well, but don’t think I’d be using these anytime soon.

The hands look pretty awesome as well, though its all in a fixed position but it looks tons better than the ones found on the HGBF kits.

Honestly, though the very best part of all the parts here is really the pre-painted face parts, oh god I just can’t get over on how awesome the face parts looked. Don’t believe m? Just take a look at this.

Unfortunately, due to my terrible photography skills, I couldn’t do justice on how good this face looks

Even with my bad photography skills here, you can still see the level of workmanship being put here. I have to admit, when I read comments on Reddit and on this blog on how good the FA-Girls (or in this case Megami Device Girls) looked I was, at first, quite sceptical, but after having seen the level of quality here, I have to admit that this Kotobukiya kit looks to be a million times better as compared to the HGBF MS-Girls kit.

Then again, the Megami Device kit is priced almost the same as an MG kit, not to mention the quality of it as well. However, I do feel like this is the kind of thing I imagine Bandai would do if they ever decide to eventually make the Super Fumina or Hyper Gyanko into an MG form. In turn, making the Asra Ninja feels so much closer to the MG than the HG. So, to compare both the HGBF and the Asra Ninja is really an unfair one.

Maybe if one-day bandai decides to make an MG variant of any of the Gundam Builders MS-Girls maybe then we can compare the two.

Finally, we come to the last bit of the Unboxing, the manuals. Before gotten myself the Asra Ninja, never I have come a kit that comes with a manual like this, this is because unlike most kits I’ve made through the years, I would say that this is my first kit that comes with 2 manual booklets. The first booklet you’d get is a normal building instruction manual, where, I do find it to be one that is very easy to get into to, even though most of the instruction is written in Japanese. You would find this booklet to be very bare bones, no lore and no backstory to the kit and the only thing that you’d find there is just the instruction in building the Astra Ninja.

My first time seeing a kit that comes with Two manual booklets.

You might be thinking to yourself, ‘That sucks, I’d love to be able to learn more about the Asra Ninja in detail;.’ Oh, not to worry my dear reader, that is why there was a need for a second booklet, where you would get a Lore / Comics booklet, where everything there is beautifully crafted and drawn. I really enjoyed my time going through it, it really manages to make me feel like I want to be a part of that world too (where you would have all these plastic model girls surround you, really that would be a good place to be methinks). As well it really makes me want to get the next kit already by just going through that booklet.

Booklet 2; Comics/Lore. Really nicely made this

I really can’t enough of it.

Towards the end, I do find myself wanting more and already itching to start work on this kit (Goddamit, Kimi work on your GM Command first!). Honestly, since this is my first Kotobukiya and as well my first Megami Device kit, I really don’t know what to expect or to look forward to. I actually have this irrational fear where eventually I might fuck something up bad.

However, instead of being afraid, it instead manages to really excite me (well I’m a masochist), and only by. I honestly feel like the unboxing of the MG Sazabi all over again, and that is a good thing. Because if this ends up to be as good as the Sazabi, I might be getting more Koto kits in the future.

Really this is one that I can’t wait to see completed so I can play with its boobs so finally, I know what is the hype about and honestly, I’m slowly starting to believe it.

With that ends my Unboxing and First impressions for the of Megami Device 05 : Asra Ninja. What do you guys think of the Unboxing? So far this has been one of the most pleasant Unboxings that I’ve made out of all the unboxings I’ve made this year and really one of the very bests too! I wonder how my pants would do on the week I really start work on this. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be that bad.

Anyways, we will be back again this week more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the coming Wednesday and we will be back as well this Sunday with hopefully the review for the MG 1/100 RGM-79G GM Command (Colony Type)! So do look forward for that, hopefully, things would go well for me this week.
