Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.55

O’ where o’ where could my money be?

Hello! We are back, with our 55th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! This week we were planning to talk about the kits that were previewed to us back in the Shizuka Hobby show, unfortunately, this week P-Bandai beats us to the punch by releasing official announcements for two kits that were showcased in the expo and we were about to talk about them this week.

Oh well, at least we know its definitely coming……and they are going to be some expensive shit.

Though it must be said, that this time P-Bandai really manages to surprise us good because we know from the Expo that one of the announcement is one kit that we have known it to be released as P-Bandai kit, however, there is one kit that we didn’t expect to see as a P-Bandai released kit….

And it is one that we will be talking about first, so let us get cracking, shall we?

HG 1/144 RGM-79SC GM Sniper Custom (Gundam the Origins MSD Version)

God damn this is one sexy GM

After the announcement of the GM Guard Custom for the Retail release earlier this month, it was a no-brainer that we finally see this kit being announced. We thought when it was officially unveiled in 57th Shizuka Hobby Show recently, we thought that we will be seeing this being released as a retail release since unlike some of the kits in the Expo, there isn’t any indication that this might come as a P-Bandai kit.

Then again we should’ve known that this would be coming for P-Bandai, why wouldn’t it be? Just look at it, this is one handsome kit and P-Bandai knows that. Though we are disappointed hearing the news of this being a P-Bandai kit, we understand why this need to be a P-Bandai kit.

Yes, we know that the lure of money is too great for P-Bandai to pass on this one.

Well, you are too good for retail…

Anyways, enough about P-Bandai lets now talk about the kit, shall we? From what we can see through the promotional pictures, we can confirm that the kit does share many of the same traits as the HG GM Guards Custom. The said parts that we can see here that was inherited from the HG GM Guards Custom is the body, arm, and the feet units, oh, not to mention here as well some parts of the head unit. The rest though? Is completely new, like the Visor unit, backpack system and as well some modifications made on the leg unit.

However, if you are expecting this to look like the 2017 release MG GM Sniper Custom, you might be slightly disappointed, that is because P-Bandai does make slight changes to the look for the Origins GM Sniper Custom. The most obvious changes that can be seen here is when you take a look at the backpack section for this kit and on its color scheme (the opted a light grey color scheme over white on some parts).

If this was an option for us to pilot, we would definitely jump to that chance to pilot this beautiful machine

Honestly, though, when we really take a good hard look at this, we do feel like this looks so much better than the MG version of this kit. P-Bandai really nailed the look for this GM Sniper Custom.

It does make us wonder if the MG variant of this is in the works. Honestly? We wouldn’t be surprised if it is. We wouldn’t even be surprised if that kit is P-Bandai as well.

Well, even if we do get this as a P-Bandai kit it’s not really going to be such a bad thing, isn’t it?

MG 1/100 MS-14A Gelgoog (Anavel Gato Custom) Ver.2.0

MG 1/100 MS-14A Gelgoog (Anavel Gato Custom) Ver.2.0

Release Date: 2018/08

Estimated price: JPY 5,400* (MYR RM197.67* / USD $49.63*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The Nightmare of Solomon’s awesome looking Gelgoog.

Unlike the HG GM Sniper Custom, this MG kit we already knew from the Shizuka Hobby Show that it’ll be coming as a P-Bandai release. Released under the P-Bandai’s Ace Pilot log MG line-up, this is one MG kit that we are really excited for and honestly, we have been waiting for Bandai to make the update for Anavel Gato’s Gelgoog since they released the Original MG Gelgoog Ver.2.0.

To finally see Anavel Gato’s MG Gelgoog being made as a Ver.2.0, we can’t deny that we are pretty happy to finally see it happening and yes it looks fucking glorious as well!

It’ll be insane of us to not look at this and fall in love with it.

Though there aren’t major design changes made on the MS itself when compared to the original MG Gelgoog Ver.2.0, it is not to say that P-Bandai didn’t make any changes to this variant of the MS-14A. The obvious changes are in the color scheme for this kit, obviously, this follows Anavel Gato’s Gelgoog Custom color scheme and the kit as well comes with some pretty awesome decals.

You might be wondering why I didn’t include the Beam Sniper Rifle into account since it doesn’t make sense to have this kit without the other right? Well, the reason being is that after we did some digging, we found out that this rifle looks like it would be a ‘hand-me-down’ part from the previous retail MG Gelgoog Anavel Gato Ver.1.0. Honestly, when we found out P-Bandai opt to use the same rifle runner part from the Ver.1.0 kit we are pretty disappointed with that news. We were really hoping to see the kit comes with a redesigned Sniper Beam Rifle for the Ver.2.0 Anavel Gato’s Gelgoog, but we guess that is really just too much to ask for.

All that you see here is old parts, strangely enough

Damn, that is really a shame. Funnily this is one MG kit that we weren’t bothered seeing as a P-Bandai release since it was released under the excellent Ace Pilot Log MG lineup, however, we are more bothered by the fact that they just decide to just be lazy with this one. Really P-Bandai, it’s not like we are asking you to do a total overhaul on its look, we just need the Sniper Beam Rifle to have an update…that’s all.

Regardless of that, we are still looking forward to seeing this being released in this coming August. This is one that we really hope it’ll be good to build as it is good to look at.

This is definitely is one of our most anticipated P-Bandai MG kits this year

With that ends our 55th episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We do have some pretty interesting announcements this week from the P-Bandai and as always both of the P-Bandai announcements did manage to frustrate us, in some way or another. Though we can’t deny these two announcements are ones that we are pretty much leaning quite heavily towards getting…even though we know that they are going to be insanely expensive, we really can’t stop ourselves from not getting these. Really why can’t you? Just look at them, we would be insane to miss these.

Anyways do let us know here of what from these kits that you are looking forward in getting or seeing more of and just know that we always look forward in reading and responding to your comments and thoughts of the kits and as well to this post!

We will be back with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and we will be back as well this Sunday with a kit unboxing and first impressions! So do look forward to that!
