Our 1st Gundam the Origins HG unboxing!
Hello and welcome! Kimi here and I’m back with a new Unboxing and First Impressions! This week we will be unboxing the HG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II Char Aznable Custom unit (Gundam the Origins HG). Most of you here might be wondering, “Hey Kimi, wasn’t the MG ∞ Justice Gundam was supposed to be out today?”.
Well yes, supposedly……. but to those that have been keeping track of my progress via Reddit and or through social media (Through Kimi the Builder FB page and my personal Instagram page), you’d know that I have been spending too much time in the toilet, yes, I have been having some bad rear end leaking problems.
In other words, I had the “Ye good old diarrhea”.
As on the time of writing this, I’m am still spending some good ol’ time in the toilet and honestly, I can’t see myself being able to finish the kit by today if I were, to be honest, so instead trying to build it in the toilets and risking having the parts falling into the shit filled toilet bowl. Why not I write about the next-next kit (this is supposed to be done right after the ASRA Archer’s review actually….) that I had planned to do a review for.
So, without further ado let us get into it, shall we?
Release Date: April 2015
Retail Price: NTD $510* (MYR RM68.24/ USD $17.12*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Well, I remember back when I was talking about the ASRA Archer last week. I realised that forgot to mention that the ASRA Archer wasn’t the only kit that I purchased back when I was traveling there. There were actually quite a few kits that I managed to snag while I was visiting Taiwan back then. Taiwan ironically was a place that I never have expected to FIND cheap Gunplas and as well to find that they had a MASSIVE collection of rare and awesome plastic models, figures, and insane anime stuff.
Not to mention you as well can get a paperback printed hentai doujin shit too. That is if you feel like bringing some “nice” stuff back with you.
It almost made me feel like, I was visiting…..a more budget happy Japan. Really, no kidding man. Though it is nice to talk about my travelling experiance in Taiwan but we are not a travelling blog. So let’s us go back to the unboxing to this kit shall we?
The one thing I loved about buying HG kits especially the HGUC kits, is because these kit does come with some pretty awesome boxarts. Though most of them have a pretty simple box art with them just posing handsomely with somewhat neutered action filled background.
Well not for this kit, this variant of this Zaku II does comes with a glorious and colorful action scene accompanying this awesome kit. It does bring out the best look for this variant of the char’s Zaku II. As well not to mention here as well that the box art for this variant looks pretty impressive. Just take a look at it, even with all these stuff going on (and not to mention all the colours there aswell) you can clearly see how awesome the reimagined Zaku II is here. Honestly, how can’t you not be impressed with this Boxart.
Though that isn’t the only impressive part of this awesome kit, well it is only when I move on to actual Unboxing this then I get to see the glorious…….
Runner parts….Nothing in all my years building HG kits that I’ve seen HG parts with this kind of detail, honestly I was pretty impressed when I look at this. Not to mention too, that they used a much more different shade of red when compared to the previous HGUC iteration of the MS-06S Zaku II Char Aznable’s custom. They skip on using maroon colors on its body parts, instead now you get a much lighter shade of red for this version of the MS-06S.
The manual as well is excellent, with pretty nice, easy to digest lore section and as well with an easy to navigate instructional section. Honestly all of these features that you get in this particular manual is pretty standard, nowadays. However, since this is a kit that was released a year before we start seeing translated manuals for all gunpla, so you do get an untranslated manual for this kit.
Though it doesn’t really effect the overall enjoyament building this kit, we do feel its a shame that this kit doesn come with a translated manual. Honestly it would be really nice to be able to read on the Origins version of the lore side for once.
Honestly, everything about this kit is just, bloody excellent. Really it has been a long while since i unbox a HG kit that made me this excited. This probably one of the kits that by the end of everything that i had in hand, will be one that would most definately have alot of fun with, though by how things are going….it might take a long while for me to reach there.
Hopefully, I’ll stop spending too much toilet to make sure that that is even possible in the first place. FML.
With that ends this round of Unboxing and First Impressions for the HG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II Char Aznable’s Custom (Gundam the Origins variant)! What do you guys think of the Unboxing this time? Thanks to the awesome diarrhea that I am having I had to push the review for the MG ∞ Justice Gundam, however, after unboxing this, I was really glad that I did! This is one of the most detailed and the most exciting looking HG’s I’ve unboxed in a while. I would say that this made me as excited to start working on it as much as I did with the recently reviewed HG Bracer Pheonix and honestly? I’m genuinely quite excited to start work on this particular kit.
Anyways, we will be back again this week more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the coming Wednesday and we will be back as well on the coming Sunday with the review for the MG Infinite Justice Gundam, well with hopefully no more ass related sickness. So, do look forward to that!
