A no name beauty

Hello and welcome back everybody to our 60^th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla! This week we will go back to the Retail because apparently this week (or last week) Bandai managed to slide one retail announcement that did go quite unnoticed by all of us here….and surprisingly it is an announcement from the HGBD series.

So today though we don’t have a huge announcements to be talking about but honestly, we do have a very interesting kit to be talking about this week. So without further ado let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Gundam Astray No Name (HGBD)

Out of all the Gundam Anime series that we’ve watched throughout the years….only the Gundam Build Divers has been the only one anime that have failed so far to make all of us here interested to watch it.

And yes, even though they do try their darndest to lure us in with all the awesome and cute MS designs (or custom Gunplas in this case). But it wasn’t enough to inspire us to want to watch this show… well, that is up until when we saw this listed on the interwebs (quite quietly) and afterward fuelled further by the GIF’s of all its awesome fight scene (all thanks to people taking snippets of that and posting it in FB and Instagram) with the Gundam 00 Diver. Only then we started to feel like we should at least give this anime a chance…maybe…

However, we are not here to be talking about the anime here…instead, we are going to be talking about the kit that Bandai very quietly announced and one that all of here feel to a one of the most….beautiful Astray variant to date. Not to mention it has a pretty badass name!

Gundam Astray No Name!

The Gundam Astray’s is the only one Gundam that has so far gotten some pretty interesting variants, you have the red, blue and the very shiny gold frame. Though none of them so far has come close being one that we can really call ‘beautiful’. Don’t get us wrong, they are good looking, but they never were some of the most beautiful MS’s around…..

but this, however, changes that. This is the only Astray variant that we can really call ‘beautiful’. Just look at it, the awesome white, red and black color combo. Modifications made on the Astray base kit, that is seen on the head unit and re-using parts from other existing Astray unit. but best of all is the inclusion of that awesome cape-like thing on its right shoulder…..

When we first saw it we really thought it’s something like a sleeve thing, just a trinket to make this look cool af, mind you, we haven’t seen all the screenshots and the gifs surrounding this…… But AFTER we did then we realized that wasn’t something to make that kit look cool, it does have some practical use to it.

We realized that the cape like-thing is actually…..a bloody beam rifle.

Yeah, I know, that is one pretty fucking awesome looking beam rifle. This is by far the boldest designs that we’ve seen that came from the Gundam Build Fighters series. Whoever that came up with this idea/design… I commend your creativity…because of you…you made us want to watch the first episode of the show….

Though unfortunately after we started watching it….well…we found out that it really wasn’t as good as we thought it would be.

 

But at least it gave us the Astray No Name…so it’s that bad I suppose…

With that ends our 60^th episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! ahead…yes, this week we are covering just one kit release from the retail side…well one that is quietly announced. One that we were quite surprised to see it on the retail side, and is one that we are pretty excited for after seeing more of it! We do hope that it would be awesome to build as it was awesome to look at and really, this definitely the best looking HG kits that we have seen coming from the Build Fighter series.
