Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.64

Hmm, juicy P-Bandai news

Hello, and we are back once again with the 64th edition of our let’s talk gunpla segment! This week we going to be talking about P-Bandai since recently made some pretty interesting announcements. One that we admit that we are quite excited to be talking about this week!

So, without further ado, let us get into the announcements, shall we?

Looks like something Lady Gaga would wear to the Grammys

Its been awhile since we talked about an SD kit here in the blog and what better time and kit to start off with this gloriously shiny SD kit!

Yes, we are going to be talking about the SD Legend BB Victory Daishogun SD kit and yes we know this is some pretty old news from P-Bandai but we just feel like talking about this one, since…well just look at it.

Glorious isn’t he?

Really, this is one kit that we do find it hard not to talk about. Plus it has been a while since we get to see something this insane and glorious at the same time.

Plus it’s not every day that you have a kit with a lot of glorious colored parts like this ha-ha.

Oh not to mention this is one that had its base design taken (in our opinion) the best looking Gundam ever; The Shining Gundam.

What’s more, it could as well have itself transform into this epic bird-like thing.

I wonder if it’ll make for a good pet.

Really, there is just so much epicness going on with this particular kit.

But looking at this we do find it hard to tell on how much of this kit is sticker based and or how much of this is really comes from the Gold plated parts. Since we know that the SD’s are mostly sticker based, This is really one that we have to wait till we have the actual kit to really confirm on this, however, if most of what we are seeing here is coming from the Gold plated parts, then that would be something that would be really impressive.

Really this is one kit that we really hope to see more of.

Even the Boxart looks EPIC AF

Even though the price for this particular kit is quite steep, but just looking at what you get….kind of makes the money spent feels worthwhile.

This would really make a good anniversary/wedding/birthday gift for your loved ones indeed. Really who wouldn’t love all that awesome gold?

Just don’t tell them its fake.

Then again this is going to be expensive…you might as well tell them it as expensive as the real one.

RE 1/100 XM-07 Vigna Ghina (Berah Ronah/Cecily Fairchild Special)

RE 1/100 XM-07 Vigna Ghina (Berah Ronah/Cecily Fairchild Special)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 4,320* (MYR RM177.53/ USD $43.76*)

Hey, the holy roman empire called, they want their style back.

Hey, have you ever thought to yourself that you RE100 Vigna Ghina looks plain to you?

Have you ever wondered what if you can give it some…Sinanju treatment to it? Oh, how about you add in some of the Roman Empire inspired Decals on it?

I wonder if anyone could help us in making that true for us.

Wonder no more fellow friends, P-Bandai has heeded your call and it is now bringing you what you ask for with their rendition of the Vigna Ghina! Let me present you with P-Bandai’s…

RE100 Vigna Ghina Berah Ronah/Cecily Fairchild special!

Dat imma going to recreate the boxart pose so people would buy it kind of pose

Well, technically not really their original rendition since this is based from a pre-existing design that was first seen in the F91-MSV and later on featured in the Mobile Suit Gundam Silhouette Formula Official Handbook. This particular MS was designed by Kunio Okawara and really…..this is really one that we here feel like its one of his more ‘interesting’ works yet.

Well by interesting what it means is that this is one of those kits that made us wonder what is going on with his mind when he designed this particular kit. I wonder if he was drunk when he made this particular version…

Anyways in all seriousness, this is by far the ugliest P-Bandai kit that we have ever seen here in the blog and or anywhere in that manner. With its ‘char’-ish colors and its Roman-inspired ornaments….oh don’t forget the best (or worse) part of all…the face…..

Oh yes, that goddamn face….the slightly longer De’an Zon’s face…..on the….ugh god help us, please.

Goddamn, it is so ugly that it looks like P-Bandai photoshopped Denan’ Zon’s face on it.

Though it must be said this is still pretty much the same RE100 Vigna Ghina that we have been graced with recently. Though obviously it is given some insane makeover in terms of its new color scheme and the very gaudy decals…oh, let us not forget about that new faceplate.

Even though it is ridiculously ugly when compared to the Retail variant, somehow rather we kind of strangely drawn to it. somehow all that gold and glitter does get to us and making us want to have this ugly mofo in the home base.

but strangely we do kind of want to have this….

We know that this will be definitely be priced quite high when gets here but honestly, we don’t mind getting this one. Well, it’s not because we want to have this around but just because we all can just stare at this ugly thing and marvel at how Bandai really managed to make something…really unexplainable for once.

However, it would be nice if they would do something about the stupid RE100 manipulator set. Looking at it gripping at the beam rifle tightly does start to trigger us a bit.

I love looking at this beautiful chocolate MS.

Just when you thought that the ACE PILOT has no more OYW Zakus to make into them awesome kits, again they are back with a new announcement kit for all of us to savor!

This time however they are releasing a new RG under the ACE PILOT banner (instead of an MG kit) and this time they are again taking on one of the best colored coordinated MS of the lot, the Gabby Hazards R2 Zaku II. The last time all of us here in the blog seen the Gabby Hazard’s machine is back when P-Bandai announced the variant as the MG in 2015, and this just like its MG counterpart it reused many of the same components and parts of the retail’s version of the R2 Zaku II, well with the exception of the colors and the decals of course. Haha.

Dang, what a handsome kit this is…

Yeah just like its MG counterpart, there isn’t anything new added here in the kit. Though it is not to say that is a bad thing.

Because the Gabby Hazard version of the R2 Zaku II does have some pretty awesome color coordination on its parts and paired with them awesome decals, this version of the kit does manage to look quite unique. However, since it is based on the RG variant of the R2 Zaku II… we can’t say that we are particularly excited for this one….

Especially not after with our experience with the retail version of this kit.

Just look at all of those decals

Though we do have to admit, regardless of what versions of this that you’d prefer to get, Gabby Hazard does have some pretty good taste in color because he manages to make this version of the R2 Zaku II look really sexy with that color scheme.

This is a pretty hard kit to recommend, because honestly if this is the MG version we would have recommended it without any doubt. but since this is based from the less then stellar RG kit….we really can’t really recommend this unless if you are headover heels in love with it or if you are an avid Zaku II collector.

For everyone else, we really don’t think this would be one that you want to get. Save it for something better.

HG 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam (Rollout color variant) (Gundam the Origins MSD HG)

HG 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam (Rollout color variant) (Gundam the Origins MSD HG)

Release Date: 2018/10

Estimated price: JPY 2,376* (MYR RM86.41/ USD $21.30*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

and here we thought the previous P-Bandai version is great but this is even BETTER

Aah, yes finally we get to the most P-Bandai-est of all P-Bandai kits.

The HG Origins Heavy Gundam (Rollout color variant)

The Heavy Gundam is one that we never expected to see it being given another release as another variant in P-Bandai. Even with the first variant we really liked the how it looked like, and yes, we do think that the first version of the Heavy is one of the best looking HG Origins Gundam Variants out there.

The Origins version Gundam Variants is looking ever closer to the Original version.

However, with the Rollout version…. we starting to think that this is a much MUCH better looking when compared to the previous version and we would even go as far to say that this looked better than the P-Bandai’s HG RX-78-1 [N] Local Type Gundam from last year that was as well released in its Rollout colors.

Then again that version does have some…test dummy colors to it…..well whatever

Though the Heavy’s alternate colour option is quite impressive to look at but that is really all that it comes with. Nothing new added or changed with this version of the Heavy and just like the other announcements here (except for the SD Daishogun) still has all the same features and characteristics of the previous iterations.

Finally this kit gives a solid reason for us to get the MS System Base set

Though we have to admit that that isn’t really a bad thing if your kit looked that good, to begin with, and with this kit being in the HG Origins line up, we are confident that this is not just going to be a good-looking kit, it is as well going to be an awesome kit that we know we are going to have with.

Definitely, one that we are looking forward to getting.

This version would definitely look epic with the normal variant posed right next to it

Though we do wonder, when are we getting the 1st P-Bandai Heavy variant here….we are still waiting to get out hands on youuuuuu.

With that ends our 64th  episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! Finally, we are getting some pretty interesting P-Bandai news and one that has some pretty (and one Ugly) interesting line up of kits. Well, time for us to hustle a little bit harder so one day we can bury ourselves under a sea of Berah’s Vigna Ghina kits.

That is one sea of gaudiness that we wouldn’t mind swimming in.

Anyways do let us know here of what from these kits that you are looking forward in getting or seeing more of and just know that we always look forward in reading and responding to your comments and thoughts of the kits and as well to this post!

We will be back with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and Kimi will be back again this Sunday with an Unboxing of an another awesome (and new) HG kit! So, do look forward to that!

  1. So the unfortunately named Vigna Ghina gets an unfortunate color scheme… eesh. And the face. Kind of reminds me of 2-1B (the droid who replaces Luke’s hand in ESB), but uglier.

I do dig the Heavy Gundam’s weapon though.
