What a way to start this off, with some bad puns……
Hello, Kimi here and I’m back this week with another edition of our Unboxing and First Impressions! This week we are going to be doing an Unboxing for the very recently released HG 1/144 OZ-06MS Leo! Yeah since we are having a bit of a blast with the previous HG kit build we thought to ourselves, why stop there, lets us see if they’ve learned all the lessons learned from the previous HG kits.
As well since we are already working on the review and the build of the RG Tallgeese, why not this week we give the green tallgeese Leo, an unboxing feature before the release of the review of the RG Tallgeese? Wouldn’t that be perfect?
Not to mention since the HG Leo is a kit that is developed under the supervision of the Gunpla Evolution programme, I feel it is only fair that we see what does Gunpla Evolution chaps have in store for us this round.
Already this kit started off well with its awesome looking boxart, though most HG boxarts nowadays does look quite good but so far there are not kits that actually had a box art that really had an EPIC background.
Because really, there is no other boxart that is based on a mass production unit that really showcases on how mass-produced that particular MS is. This however it really had a boxart that really shows on how MASSIVELY mass produced this MS really is. Plus, if this were turned into an art piece it would really make into a great one since…..well just look at that.
Plus, when you look at this, it can make you think that this comes with all of that awesome LEOS at the back. Why do you think I said that? well, its because it comes with a small little disclosure down here….
Moving on, to the actual unboxing….really we were surprised to see that this has less parts then the Char’s Zaku II! Well, the reason why we said that is because this only comes with only 2 big bags of parts, Yes we do realize that both in terms of price and from the box it does make sense of why it was so. Though that wasn’t the real reason we are surprised, because when we compared this to another kit (the HG GM Cold Districts Type) that as well comes in a somewhat the same box configuration. This seems to have a much neater part configuration and not to mention it does seem like it comes with a lot more parts.
Looking at the neat arrangement of the parts does make us feel like all of this does help to reduce time wasted when everytime you look for the said parts and it would definitely help to streamline the construction of the Gunplas. Really I’m glad that the Gunpla Evolution chaps managed this well. Really hope they would continue with the newer Gunpas.
However, it must be said that we yet to see how these parts will work in IRL, so I do have to wait and see if these parts are more then meets the eye.
Another MAJOR improvement that can be seen made here, is when I take a look at the manuals. Even though they still mostly look like the normal HG manual booklet, it is only when you get to the building instructions you realized that they finally learned to make the HG manual be more like the MG booklets. Where they show you what parts you need for certain sections and it does seem like they sectionalize the parts properly…just like how they did it with the MG but in a much more smaller scale…-ish
Though as ever I can’t really confirm if the building instructions here is better then the one seen on the HG Origins Char Zaku II’s booklet or worse. But all we can really say that so far, looking through it does look quite promising so far.
Though, I do think that the kit, in general, does seem to be…..on the surface level at least, like a major improvement when compared to the previous HG Origins Char’s Zaku II that we made last few weeks ago.
It is definitely one that we are really looking forward to working and seeing more of. Hopefully, this would be another good one.
With that ends this round of Unboxing and First Impressions for the HG 1/144 OZ-06MS Leo! What do you guys think of the Unboxing this time? I do need to apologize for the apparent lateness of this particular Unboxing post because I have been away for a short R7R recently and kind of needed some space to just get myself healthier. Thankfully I have recovered well and hopefully will be able to continue to recover well.
Honestly, though, I really am having a blast working on the Tallgeese and now with the Leo just being unboxed? I really can’t wait to display them together side by side.
Anyways, we will be back again this week more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the coming Wednesday and we will be back as well on the coming Sunday with the review for the RG 1/144 OZ-00MS Tallgeese! So, do look forward to that!
