An old kit making a comeback into the modern times

Hello, and we are back once again with the 66th edition of our let’s talk Gunpla segment! This week we are taking a look at some new very interesting P-Bandai news. One that involves them making an MG announcement of a kit that was based from ….a pretty old kit.

As well one that gives Kimi some fond memories of.

Anyways, without further ado lets us now get into the announcements, shall we?

Dang the Full desert camo colors look awesome here.

We have to be honest when first we saw this being listed on the P-Bandai page. We were quite surprised since this is a pretty old MG kit (both versions of this kit were released back in 2002). Though we’ve seen kits based from really old MG frames but really we never imagined that they would go that far off in their library to remake them into P-Bandai variants.

And we are really excited to see the MG Zaku II F2 again after so long and at the same time, we are as well happy to see that the Zaku II F2 finally getting some P-Bandai treatment.

Anyways, back to the kit. Though we are quite excited to see this getting some P-Bandai treatment…from what we are seeing here we don’t think that P-Bandai made any changes to the MG Zaku II F2. It is obvious that P-Bandai just recycled the old runners and make some color scheme changes for this variant.

The two-color scheme MG Zaku II F2 kit in action….this is one expensive duo.

Since it has been a while since we have built the MG Zaku II F2 kit, it does make us wonder on how well does this kit age now, since this based from a VERY old MG frame. I guess we can wait till we get this to really experience first hand on how this would hold in the current times.

But we do remember having some great time building this, and Kimi remembers this to be one of the best MG Zaku II variant that he built beside the MG Zaku II Ver.2.0. So this might be one to look forward to if that really is the case.

Though P-Bandai did make some changes to the kit. Instead of the previous version where they gave different types of equipment for the two MG variants of this kit (both the EFSF version and the Zeon Remnants version have different sets of equipment), for this P-Bandai version they decided to combine both the weapons set from the EFSF variant and the Zeon Remnant into one version.

So, what this version gets exactly, you may ask? Well, instead of just getting one version of the Zaku Machine Gun, for this version you get both the MMP-78 Machine Gun and the MMP-80/90mm Ver.8 Machine Gun for this version of the Zaku F2. You still get all the same weapons from before, the 30mm Bazooka, anti-personnel grenades, fixed manipulator sets, Zaku heat tomahawk (both the Zeon remnants and the EFSF version gets this), the Sturm Faust,  the 3 tube missile pod and the solid rocket boosters (only the Zeon remnants has this).

The very impressive lineup of weapons and types of types of equipment

Another notable change that you be getting on the P-Bandai version is on the new paint job and from what we can see where you can opt to go full desert color scheme which is awesome af or you can go half green or half brown…… one that we are particularly fond of tbh.

Regardless, we do feel the color scheme here on this version of the P-Bandai’s MG Zaku II F2 does look quite dope and looking at them does remind us of the Kimberlite Zeon’s battle with the Albion. Really? We have to say that all of these Zaku II F2 looks pretty badass here.

If we are getting this version, we would definitely have this particular color scheme as the full build.

Though this is not the only Zaku II F2 variant that we are getting. We are as well will be getting one for……

MG 1/144 MS-06F2 Zaku II F2 (Neuen Bitter version) (MG)

A pretty handsome looking BADASS MG kit this

The ACE PILOT kit line up.

Yes, you heard that right the ACE PILOT line up as well get its very own special MG Zaku II F2 variant! This was honestly one announcement that was quite expected really since we are going to do the whole Kimberlite Battle scene, why not include the Neuen Bitter’s variant in to complete the whole scene?

And goddamn the color scheme for the Neuen Bitter’s custom Zaku II F2 MS is pretty dope. Though we are once again seeing green on a Zaku II, somehow rather P-Bandai managed to make the green color scheme here looks sexy again. That is strange when considering that they are using the same Green color scheme as its anime counterpart, but strangely, P-Bandai managed to make it look even better here then the anime version somehow.

This is one damn good translation into the real world this.

Really this is one damn good looking MS

However, only the color scheme of the Neuen Bitter’s Custom Zaku II F2 is the only thing that sets this kit apart over the Kimberlite Base version. The Neuen Bitter Zaku II F2 is still getting the same things that you’ll get with the Kimberlite Version.

Well since the both of them are priced at the same price, so that doesn’t really come as a surprise.

Regardless, we are quite excited for both of this awesome P-Bandai MG Zaku II F2 variants, they are looking like quite promising and looking quite exciting to get when November comes!

Really this is one sexy Zaku, I really hope Bandai considers doing a modern translation of this kit now.

By the look of things, we don’t think it would be surprising to know that we are interested in getting the both of this kit. We felt that the both of them does look quite good and can’t think of any good reason of why wouldn’t we want to get them both when they are here.

Then again…when we really give this a thought….we realized that there is one strong reason of why we wouldn’t be able to do so and we feel it is some quite obvious reason too.

MONEY AND THE AVAILABILITY.

Unless all of us start shitting money, or gold. We don’t think we would be able to get two of them at once, with us knowing that these P-Bandai kits are definitely will be released in limited quantities and plus the uncertainties of seeing this kit in retail at all. We honestly starting to think that we’d be lucky if we could be able to get one at all at this rate.

The more we think about it the more we feel that we should really start praying to the great almighty plastic gods for good luck. May our prayers be heard.

Amen.

Why can’t we all have nice things?

With that ends our 66th  episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! Really some P-Bandai news we are getting this week and dang the MG Zaku II F2 is still looking pretty sweet. It’s surprising that we are still seeing old kits still getting some well-deserved love from P-Bandai…though we do hope that Bandai has some plans in remastering some of these awesome kits from the Stardust Memories line up.

Cause honestly, some of them really didn’t really age well nowadays. Really, I’m sure a lot of us here wouldn’t mind getting some MG Ver.2.0 kits from the Stardust Memories line up of kits.

Anyways do let us know here of what from these kits that you are looking forward in getting or seeing more of and just know that we always look forward in reading and responding to your comments and thoughts of the kits and as well to this post!

We will be back with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and Kimi will be back again this Sunday with an Unboxing of an awesome (and new) P-Bandai kit! So, do look forward to that!

  1. What is up with the rank insignia on Neuen Bitter’s shoulder? It doesn’t look like any of the established MS rank insignia. Its like an upsidown 1st lieutenant mark. I hate when they mess these things up.
