Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.67

A very nicely narrated P-Bandai edition

Hello and welcome back! We are back this week with our 67th Volume of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment and this week, as the retail announcements this week is just too fresh for us to review we are instead going to be covering P-Bandai news this week and one  that we realized that primarily focusing on supporting the upcoming UC timeline Gundam anime, the Gundam Narrative.

Prepare yourself and your wallets and your eyes, boys, and girls, because we are going to be talking about some very interesting kits and some very shiny ones too.

So, let us get into it shall we?

HG 1/144 RGM-96Xs Jesta (Shezzar Type, Team A)

HG 1/144 RGM-96Xs Jesta (Shezzar Type, Team A)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 3,024* (MYR RM 112.23/ USD $ 27.35*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Goddamn, this pose makes it look like some badass action star man.

This was one MS that we really didn’t expect to see again, honestly, after the end of Unicorn (both for the feature-length movie and the anime series), we thought never again will we be able to see this black Jegan’s being badass. Thankfully it seems that we are going to be getting more awesome Jesta action in the upcoming movie and it does look like the Jesta is getting some pretty badass upgrades.

and just being able to see a glimpse of it in action in the trailers is enough to make us salivate to its awesomeness.

Whats more now we can have all of the awesome looking Jesta in the HG form.

Just when you thought the Jesta is perfect, and P-Bandai decides to hit you with this.

From the outset, it doesn’t look like this kit has anything new attached to it and whats more than it does seem like for this variant P-Bandai omitted the awesome half-shield thing on it. However this kit it still gets all the awesome looking beam rifle and a pretty impressive lineup of manipulator set.

So, you might be wondering. “what is new here then?”.

Well for this version of the Jesta Shezzar, they replaced the standard Jesta backpack to Stark Jegans High Mobility backpack, which kind of explains why the Shield was omitted for this version (since the shield is attached to its backpack) and they as well added some boosters taken from the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam to it.

If this is supposed to be a high mobility type, I shudder to think of the full-armor variant of this MS.

Oh not to mention here too they as well added a Spec-ops style night vision goggles on the head unit, which does make it look really awesome. Really never we have looked at a kit and thought that this really is an MS that is made for the Special Forces.

and Goddamn, for something that is already looking badass to get upgrades to make it more badass? That is something that we here haven’t seen attempted yet.

Oh and whats more, this is not the only Jesta Shezzar that we are getting, we as well have the…

HG 1/144 RGM-96Xs Jesta (Shezzar Type, Team B & C)

HG 1/144 RGM-96Xs Jesta (Shezzar Type, Team B & C)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 2,484* (MYR RM 92.19/ USD $ 22.47*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The Jesta with its impressive array of awesome weapons.

The combo version or better known as the Jesta Shezzar, Team B & C version.

Well, you might be wondering why they combined the two as a single release for this, well unlike with the Team A’s Jesta Shezzar, Both Team B and C use the same overall configuration for their MS just like the standard Jesta. The only difference that we can see between this and the standard Jesta is on the additional scope like thing attached on the Jesta’s head part.

So all in all, if we are talking about the HG release here we can say that this technically the same HG Jesta kit just with a new head part. However, what differs this to the Retail variant (or even to its Team A counterpart) is as soon as we get to the impressive line up of weapons.

Team B’s Hyper Mega Cannon’s sniper set up.

From the Team B’s insane Hyper Mega Cannon to Team C’s very interesting looking Capture Gun this version of the Shezzar does have a pretty awesome lineup of weapons and not to mention you are still getting the same awesome stuff from the previous HG Jesta here.

Team C’s Capture Gun set up.

Honestly, this is looking to be a VERY promising P-Bandai release indeed, actually, all three of them is looking awesome. We really can’t help to feel like we are slowly leaning towards getting all the awesome variants of the Jesta Shezzar, it was that good

Though the more we think about it the more out wallets is screaming for us to stop. Though we are quite interested in getting all of these awesome looking Jesta’s but unless we can figure out how to make money from selling our organs, I don’t think that we will be getting all of this so soon.

Oh well…

Maybe we can instead frame this and turn this into a huge poster, instead. At least we could have them in a picture form.

MG 1/100 RX-0 Gundam Unicorn 03 Phenex (Narrative Version)

MG 1/100 RX-0 Gundam Unicorn 03 Phenex (Narrative Version)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 14,040* (MYR RM 521.87/ USD $ 127.33*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

It looks like something that would be able to whip you into shape, like literally.

Finally, we get to the ‘We’re going to go blind’ section of the announcements.

Its funny when we think back, that the last time we talked about the Unicorn Phenex was back on the 63rd episode of the let’s talk gunpla (2nd version of the HG kit), we remembered talking about the HG kit looking so good that we kind of mistaken it for the MG version.

But now, confused we are no longer because now we actually getting this in the MG form….from P-Bandai. How about that? Not to mention that this is as well one of the most expensive kits in this weeks line of P-Bandai Gunpla announcements. Not to mention this is as well one of the shiniest one too.

As we did a much deeper research we realised that this kit is based from the Retail version of the MG Gundam Unicorn 03 Phenex (released in Feb 2014) which was already one of the most expensive normal Retail MG kits to date and now in its P-Bandai form, it seems like it would keep on that path of expensiveness.

One of the very best poses of the Phenex yet and the tail does help to make the kit looks cool af

Though, just like the rest of the announcements here, there isn’t anything new that was added here. The only thing that is actually new with this is that manta-ray inspired tail on the Phenex’s Funnel shields. Though it does make us wonder if it is possible to pose it up with the tail holding itself well.

Even though we do like looking at both the narrative’s Phenex and even the retail one, HOWEVER, we aren’t THAT excited to just go out of our way to get it. This is really one shiny MG kit that we will give it a pass.\

Looking at this, one can’t help to feel a slight tinge of pain thinking of all the ruined part if one fucks up.

It’s strange when you think about it since all of us here really like the HG version of this so it only natural that we would want to get this as well right? Not really, since the P-Bandai one is insanely expensive and is going to be more expensive when it hit retail, it makes more sense we invest all of that money on a PG kit than this.

Unless if all the shiny gold here could be traded for something with an actual value, then we miiiight consider getting this.

With that ends our 67th  episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! Quite an interesting line-up of P-Bandai Gunpla announcements we have in store for us in the coming November, one that we are really excited for to see more of!
