Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.68

It looks like we are going to have a hectic year-end…..

We are back again this week, bringing you the 68th volume of our Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment! 😀 This week we are FINALLY getting some awesome retail news! To some of you, these announcements were not really a surprise since all of you (including us) have already seen some of the kits showcased at the C3 AFA Tokyo convention recently.

By the looks of things, it does seem like we are going to look at a very BUSY and PENNILESS year-end ahead.

So, without further ado let us get into the announcements, shall we?

HG 1/144 Gundam Shining Break (HGBD)

HG 1/144 Gundam Shining Break (HGBD)

shining_2 (1)
This doesn’t look like any shining that we recognize.

Oh yes, we are going to start things off with first talking about a kit from the Gundam Build diver series….not from the mainline one though, but one that is from the Manga side story version…..

The Gundam Build Divers Break.

Funnily just before we came across this particular announcement, we were talking about the G Gundam series and more specifically we were talking about how awesome the Shining is and how much we wished the Gundam Build series would have something as such here in the anime.

Never I imagined seeing the shining using a rifle instead of its fists

To see it finally being realized here….it does bring a smile to our faces. However this really one Shining variant that we don’t really recognize…..

It was something that…..is better shown on how we reacted below.

OH MAH GAWD, is this a Shining Gundam variant? and oh wait it can aswell TRANSFORM? WTF?!

Yes as you can tell, we were pretty excited for this kit, well, for one because it looks bloody brilliant. Secondly, even though this was supposed to be based on the Shining, however when we looked at the level of changes it was made here… All that we could say here is that this kit is just loosely based on the shining since really there isn’t anything here that we can recognize from any other HG kits.

We would even go as far to say that all of this is new. There is nothing here that we can see that is remotely recognizable….well except some part on the head section and the front waist armor. The rest? Like we said, all new.

We are as well quite surprised to see that the Gundam Shining Break could transform into..what we assume the flight mode. It does look like it has a pretty simple transformation when compared to the likes of Airmaster, zeta or the wing Gundam. Even with the simple transformation, it still looked awesome and at the same time….

It does look quite practical.

simple and practical this

This is definitely one that we are looking forward to in this coming December!

HG 1/144 GBN-Guard Frame (HGBD)

HG 1/144 GBN-Guard Frame (HGBD)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 1,360* (MYR RM 50.25/ USD $ 12.24*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This is really one beautiful HG kit this

Another kit from the HGBD series, but now from the mainline series. Is the one that is really making waves all around the Gunpla forums and discussions.

How wouldn’t we’d be? The GBN-Guard Frame is really one interesting kit, because unlike the Shining Break that we talked about just now…this looks like nothing that we have seen so far.

Even though they do have parts that are resembles something the things that we’ve seen in both Gundam X and Age series on the head designs, it is still something that we really haven’t seen being made anywhere. The same as well can be said for the rest of the kit. Everything here looks new and fresh.

The left side head unit reminds us of a head unit from another Mecha from a different anime. We really are digging that Cockpit/head unit design.

We must admit that we do like how the ‘unfinished’ look of this kit, it does make the kit look like something that was from the MG kit. As well we can understand why this would be something that would be a good platform for a kitbashing or a custom build. The kit really looks like it could be easily customizable.

Plus, with its monotonous color scheme, it does look like you can just spray or paint any color scheme that you want here.

Honestly, this is probably one HG kit that we are quite excited to see more of and for once they have made something really special here.

Really we really do love looking at this ‘unfinished’ kit here

One that we are looking forward to seeing more of in this coming November.

HG 1/144 MSK-008 Dijeh (HGUC)

HG 1/144 MSK-008 Dijeh (HGUC)

Release Date: 2018/12

Estimated price: JPY 1,615* (MYR RM 59.67/ USD $ 14.54*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Out of all the announcements here, this is the one that we are a bit confused with when we first saw its reveal.

Because we thought at first what we are looking at here is the RE100 version and thought to ourselves, why is Bandai doing another release announcement for a kit that we have already released?

Well, after we made a closer look, only then we realize that this isn’t the RE100 version. This is an HGUC version, yes Bandai is finally making the HGUC retail version with a proper ‘ready to shoot’ hands included!

Aaah, yes finally you have a proper hand now Dijeh

But all joking aside, the HGUC Dijeh does look quite good. We would even go as far to say that the HGUC Dijeh looks as good as its RE100 counterpart, albeit lacking the details or the scale of its counterpart.

As well it does seem like it has a pretty impressive articulation here as well! Really this is one HGUC kit that we are looking to see more of!

Honestly, this is one impressive pose. we are really excited to be able to do this with our own Dijeh kit

Basically, all we can really say here is that the HGUC Dijeh is one BADASS looking hg kit, one that we are quite excited to see more of in this coming December!

RG 1/144 RX-0 Full Armour Unicorn Gundam

RG 1/144 RX-0 Full Armour Unicorn Gundam

Release Date: 2018/12

Estimated price: JPY 5,832* (MYR RM 215.47/ USD $ 52.49*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

THIS is a very nice backside.

Another one on the list is one RG that is……quite unexpected.

No don’t get us wrong, we were kind of expecting to see the FA Unicorn coming, but we really thought that Bandai would give it till next year before they release a new Unicorn based RG kit.

Then again with the kind of popularity, the RG Unicorn has been getting (We assume from all the good press the RG Unicorn currently enjoys) we aren’t that surprised that we are seeing it being set for release still this year.

Looking at this glorious RG kit does make me shed a tear.

Despite that, we are still quite stoked to see a new RG Unicorn especially this BADASS version.

Though they really didn’t make any major changes to the main kit, well except for the inner psycho-frame frame colored parts of course. But as you can see here, the difference in between the normal and this is quite obvious….

Yes, this version comes with a hella lot of weapons and equipment.

Look at this huge array of stuff that we are getting.

With the kit already being a blast to build just to have more stuff to work does make us quite excited for at the thought of building this. We admit, although we are interested with the Banshee, it wasn’t enough to make us feel like we had to get it.

But for this…..we are really salivating at the thought of owning this.

When is too much is too much? We say NEVER.

You can say that we are having some serious hardon for this particular Unicorn.

RE 1/100 LM111E02 Gun EZ (RE100)

RE 1/100 LM111E02 Gun EZ (RE100)

Release Date: 2018/12

Estimated price: JPY 5,832* (MYR RM 215.47/ USD $ 52.49*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Really good looking kit this.

Ahh, we finally got to the last bit of the announcement.

Yes we now finally we get to talk about the RE100 Gun EZ

Seriously, since the release of the MG Victory Gundam. We thought that this would for sure that this would be coming since this was the 2nd most popular MS in the show….. well, for a very specific reason of course. However, instead of releasing it immediately following MG V Gundam’s release, it took us 5 years to FINALLY get this and lo and behold it is finally released in the 1/100 form but not as an MG but instead as an RE100 release.

With the Gun EZ getting the RE100 treatment instead of an MG, that means we will be getting a Gun EZ with the ‘I grip the hand grip really hard, so the beam rifle would shoot’ hand position. Oh how we all here love that particular hand.

Regardless of the silly hand thing, we admit that the rest of the kit…does look quite awesome. Honestly, there is so much to love with the kit here, like the color scheme of the overall kit, the designs and all the awesome gimmicks that this kit comes with.

Awesome pose with a not so awesome beam rifle hand pose….

Its just sucks that this awesome kits would come with those horrible hands….that’s the thing that annoys us when every time we take a look at any awesome RE100 kits. We admit that all the RE100 kits that have been released thus far, all of them looks bloody awesome. It’s just the only thing that undermines the whole look are really those annoying manipulators.

We know for a fact that Bandai would be able to just easily rectify this issue by just making a new manipulator mold for the future RE100 kits, but we find it strange that Bandai is still unwilling to do so….

Well at the very least the gimmicks are quite cool

Seeing this unwillingness coming from them does make one wonder if they are trying not to undermine their MG line up by doing this? hmm…

Whatever the reason for this is, we are still looking forward to see more of this and hopefully, this would finally push us to get the RE100 kit…..

That is if we can get over our annoyance over the idiotic hand moulds….maybe if we were to close our eyes when we purchase this…it might not get to us too much….maybe?

Maybe if we close our eyes hard enough we might be able to buy all three of them without getting too annoyed

With that ends our 68th  episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! An interesting Retail week we are having here, this is definitely one week that we are really looking at the December and thinking that we are going to have an insanely packed month!

Looking at all of these awesome kits is making us feel like we should really start saving up for that now……at these kinds of times we really wish we could finally find that money making tree so we can just constantly fill our homebase with new awesome kits.
