Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.73

A continuation of last week’s news and more!

We are back again this week with the 73rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! This week we will be covering the news that we didn’t manage to talk about last week and as well we will be talking about a surprise entry to the retail news this week, one that we have been hearing rumors of in this couple of months…and finally, now we have the official release date and as well we finally get to know more about what’s coming……

Yes, we are going to be talking about the newly announced PG kit for retail!

But before we get to that, let us first talk about the last weeks announcements, shall we? So, without further ado, Lets us get into it shall we?

HG 1/144 Gundam 00 HWS (Trans-Am Infinite Mode) (HGBD)

HG 1/144 Gundam 00 HWS (Trans-Am Infinite Mode) (HGBD)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 1,955* (MYR RM 71.07/ USD $ 17.16*)

It as well looked quite impressive from behind as how it is from the front.

This actually was the kit that we planned to talk about last week, but due to Bandai last minute ‘surprise’ entry of the Mobile Doll Sarah….well understandably we had to push this one up since…well….as you may know there is no way that we would not want to talk about the Sarah first.

Regardless, we are glad that we pushed the announcement this week which in turn gave us time to discuss and really look into what we really liked about this awesome looking 00 Sky variant. To be honest, all of us here agree that this is without a doubt an awesome looking HGBD kit. Though from what we can see here, there aren’t any major changes made to its looks (the oo Sky retains more of the same look from its original form), however, the changes that we are seeing here were more focused on the new color scheme and some new pieces of equipment.

Somehow they managed to make this look quite huge in this pose.

In which we felt like the changes made here does make an already badass looking MS look even more badass.

Well since we haven’t really watched the anime, we really don’t have any clue on to what all these HWS upgrades actually do and since we haven’t really gotten ourselves the HG Gundam 00 sky, we aren’t that sure how much all of this new things will hamper the Gundam 00 sky’s articulation. The only thing that we do know is that all the additional stuff added to the 00 Sky really does make the 00 Sky look freakking badass.

Though, it’s not to say that we have no serious concern about the kit. We do actually, especially when we all take a look at the shiny Trans-am infinite mode color scheme on the parts…Yes, we are quite concerned with them parts. Though we can’t say for sure on how the gating on the parts would be since we haven’t actually built the Sky, one thing that we are sure of is that working on this kit will be a bit of a pain in the ass.

The awesome looking HWS Equipment

Why? Well, them gating and the nubs will definitely ruin all of them nicely shiny parts.

Though, in all honestly tho….we might still be getting this, despite knowing that it would really be an ass to work with. All because of we just like shiny things. Especially shiny Gunplas.

HG 1/144 HWS & SV Custom Weapon set (HGBC)

HG 1/144 HWS & SV Custom Weapon set (HGBC)

Release Date: 2018/11

Estimated price: JPY 1,020* (MYR RM 71.07/ USD $ 17.16*)

Hmm, it does look better on a normal variant oo sky

Next on the list is….hey you look quite familiar.

Oh, wait…. YES, obviously you guys are quite familiar with it since it was a part of the HWS upgrade that you just saw with the HGBD Gundam 00 HWS earlier. Though….I do think its good that we are talking about this again since this doesn’t just come with the HWS upgrade it as well comes with the SV upgrade package as well.

but first let us talk about the standalone HWS upgrade package first, shall we?

I guess you guys can already tell from us talking about the HGBD Gundam 00 HWS Trans-am Infinite mode that we all adore the HWS upgrade package, though we realized we didn’t really cover on our reasons of why we liked it.

Well, one of the main reasons of us liking this is really because looking at this it does remind us of the dendrobium in a way…. Well, it doesn’t really look like the dendrobium. However, it does have something that reminded us of the dendrobium and anything that reminds us of that awesome thing gets a lot of brownie points with us.

well, maybe it just has some parts of it that looked similar to the dendrobium

Another plus point for the HWS is really on the color scheme. The color scheme that we are seeing on the promotional items does manage to make the HWS Upgrade look quite appealing; however, we are slightly confused on how the final product would actually look like…color-wise that is.

The reason being for our confusion stemmed from the confusing promotional materials. Well for one it was made to be like it seems like the HWS would come in two color variants. One picture you have the HWS comes in a really bright blue color scheme, another it comes in…. neon-ish light green. Yes, quite confusing ain’t it?

However, with our past experiences with the HGBC items, we have a feeling that we might have to paint it ourselves. Regardless, this isn’t really something bad if we were to be honest. We are still pretty psyched about getting it.

Now moving on to the SV Upgrade package.

It feels like there is a lot of things missing here…

Well for those that have seen the AGE II Magnum SV Version might be fooled into thinking that this might also come with all the awesome blade-ish thing that was seen with the AGE II Magnum SV Version. However, from what we are seeing here…the only thing that you get here is that GN Drive hybrid thing….no blades, no nothing. Really just that.

However, you do get included here, that plane like thing. Which does, in turn, explain why the priced almost like a whole other kit. Well, a whole other HG Leo in that matter. Although, we would admit the SV upgrade package isn’t really the reason why we would go out our way to get this.

We would really get this for the HWS.

Though it does make us wonder, if the HWS would be able to fit onto the older HG kit…. honestly it would be interesting to try an experiment with the Union Flag (the kit that Kimi is working on atm) and see how this HWS fit on the Union Flag.

As well we feel that this upgrade package is a good fit for those that don’t really look forward in getting the shiny Gundam 00 HWS Trans-am Infinite Mode and as well its a good fit for those that wasn’t really looking forward into getting another HGBD Gundam 00 sky variant.

If they can make the already badass looking GM/GM look badass… I can’t imagine how it would make the Union Flag look

We are looking forward to getting this, and we pretty sure that as soon as we do…you guys will definitely know who would be the first thing we try this onto.

Petitgguy Chara’Gguy Ayame (HGPG)

Petitgguy Chara’Gguy Ayame (HGPG)

Release Date: 2019/01

Estimated price: JPY 765* (MYR RM 27.81/ USD $ 6.72*)

Really one might find that it is REALLY hard not to not love that cute face of hers.

The next one on the list. Is really something that we don’t usually cover here…. but we do feel like it kind of deserves to be talked about….

What is that specifically? Well, that would be the HG Petitgguy Chara’Gguy kit.

Yes, we are going to talk about an HG Petitgguy Chara’Gguy release this week, well more specifically the Ayame version of the Petitgguy Chara’Gguy kit. Just like the fumina and the Gyanko version that came before it the Ayame version is as well looking quite…cute.

The ninja mode, definitely the best mode out of them all.

Though overall it doesn’t look any different than the two versions that have come before it, the only thing that really differs from this and the previously released Fumina and Gyanko’s version is really the new faceplates and the purple color scheme. Even with that, we do feel the changes is enough to convince even the most stubborn of hearts to get this awesome thing.

Regardless how cute we think this is, we still don’t really fully understand the charm behind this…. but just maybe if we were to get one, maybe by then we might understand what’s the fuss is about? Maybe?

This is definitely on that is more catered to kids or to those that are a big fan of this Ayame character. So definately a must buy for them, but for us? Maybe if this was sold in the discount bin? Maybe only then we might consider…

or if someone were to give us a set of these….we wouldn’t mind having em…

For now, let us now move on to the last bit……. and the best bit of them all…

PG 1/60 GN-0000/7S 00 Gundam Seven Sword (PG)

PG 1/60 GN-0000/7S 00 Gundam Seven Sword (PG)

Release Date: 2018/12

Estimated price: JPY 20,700* (MYR RM 752.48/ USD $ 181.70*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, finally, we can NOW really talk about the last bit of the release….the release announcement of the PG Gundam 00 Seven sword variant.

Actually, we’ve been hearing rumors of this particular kit being in the works for quite some time, but at first, we thought that this would definitely be a P-Bandai release since we have already have the PG 00 in the PG 00 Raiser form. Boy oh boy how we are glad on how wrong we were since now we know that it is finally confirmed that we are definitely getting the PG 00 Seven Sword as a retail release.

Talking about the kit itself, we can see that the 00 does get some upgrades over the previous version. Like a set of new leg armor molds and some…well, a lot of new melee weapons and medium range engagements weapons. Though, admittedly the weapons don’t look as impressive as having a plane strapped around your MS (Yes, we are talking about the Raiser attachment on the 00). But the weapons that the seven sword comes with is quite impressive nevertheless.

There is a lot of awesome weapons here one of the very impressive looking pieces of hardware that come with this insane 00 variant the GN Buster Sword. Its big, it’s huge, it looks badass and you can swap it into two different variants, really what is more to say?

But to us, the most impressive piece of hardware that the 00 seven sword gets is the GN Sword II Blaster. We loved the design back when we saw it for the first time in the HG form, but in the PG from? We have to say that it looked even better, the details that you can see on the GN Sword II Blaster is just amazing.

but really the best bit of this is when we get to see the awesome beam blade on the GN Sword II Blaster. OH, HOW WE ALL JUST FANGIRLING SO HARD WHEN WE SAW THAT SHINY LASER BLADE FROM THE UNDERNEATH THE BLASTER!

The only thing that all of us here look forward in life for

You can say that we all cried tears of joy today.

Honestly, we’re all really jumping like morons as soon as we take a look at this 1/60 GLORIOUS WORK OF ART. Really one can’t contain the excitement for the release of this 00 variant.

This is really one kit that we are SUPER impressed with, and we do think that the retail side really does have something really awesome incoming to close the year with!

Really the best thing to end the year with

And yes, we are looking forward to the day that we don’t own this….and only have the picture posted in the ‘ones that we can’t afford’ section of the Homebase.

While shedding a tear for being a broke ass weeb.

With that ends our 73rd  episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment and as well ends our 2nd section of the retail announcements this week. This is turning out to be a much more exciting release announcement week when compared to the previous batch last week.

Especially when we get the surprise PG announcement. That news does really make all of us here smile….and at the same time made all of us here crying inside.

Anyways do let us know here of what from these kits that you are looking forward in getting or seeing more of and just know that we always look forward in reading and responding to your comments and thoughts of the kits and as well to this post!
