Continuing where we left off last week
HELLO!
We are back again this week with the 79th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, and this week we are going to continue on where we left off with and give you guys our opinion on the upcoming retail Gunpla Releases for next year!
So, without further ado, let us get into it shall we?
HG 1/144 GBN-Base Gundam (HGBD)

Release Date: 2019/01
Estimated price: JPY 1,360* (MYR RM 50.03* / USD $ 11.93*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

To be really honest with ya’ll,
Actually, all of us here in KTB blog haven’t really managed to come around and watch the Gundam Build Diver series. We do find it weird, despite us seeing a lot of awesome looking kits being made into the Gunpla form, but really we are not as interested to see this anime when compared to the other Gundam series and yes we do find that quite strange, to be honest.
Well though that might be one interesting subject to explore, but for now, let us talk about the new HGBD had in store for us.
So yeah in a way we really don’t know what to expect on Bandai’s upcoming kit release side of things, however, my oh my, would you look at this. They finally made the GM/GM version of the grandpa.

Yes, that’s really what this really is, its a GM/GM based granpa HGBD kit. Which is great since the HGBF GM/GM kit was an excellent piece of plastic that has ever been made under the HG line of kits, So yeah, it was great to finally get the HG grandpa using the GM/GM base.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT
Seeing it that shiny, somewhat clear-ish parts kind of turn us off. We thought to ourselves, why do Bandai think doing this kit like that kind of color scheme is a good idea? We would really be fine if they just make all the parts in normal color scheme…instead of this.

We know that Bandai might have been making this kit based on how the kit was portrayed in the anime, but really ya’ll can’t deny that seeing it like this, kind of takes the charm of it all off. To put it simply, we really think that making this kit have that kind of color scheme, kind of made the kit look like shit.
The sad thing is, we LOVE the look of the Re-designed Gramps here. Looking at this we really can’t believe Bandai still able to re-design the gramps to look even more badass than the Origins version. Damn, how do you guys still manage to make us all crazy with the gramps?
But unfortunately, somehow rather they did manage to kill our excitement for this. With giving us that shiny shit on it.

Really great job Bandai.
Regardless of what we feel about the kit, we do think this kit falls into the ‘maybe we get it’ category kind of kit. Since we do love the overall look of the kit, but at the same time, we really don’t really like the color scheme that is used on the kit here.
So yeah, we might, or we might not get this one.
Haropla Mobile HARO

Release Date: 2019/01
Estimated price: JPY 1,020* (MYR RM 37.52* / USD $ 8.95*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Yes, we all realized that this is not gunpla but right after last weeks short review, we are starting to think that this might be Bandai’s new fad after the bearagguys. Really, right after the Ball HARO short review, we kind of had long a discussion on where the next logical evolution of the Haroplas would be and lo behold, now we finally get to see where it is heading.
THIS.

Yes, this. This is what the future of the HAROPLA’s would be and the future seem to be coming in this coming January!
Technically this is just a HARO kit that has proper hands and legs. What’s more now, like the ball Haro we can now mount weapons on it. No, no we are not looking at this having cute cannons attached at Haro’s head, this kit looks like that you can properly attach proper weapons on it.
What kind of weapons you may ask? Well, you could mount the weapon packs from the HGBD line up, and looking at it we wonder if it as well can mount the weapons from the HGBF line up too. This thought really excites us and we really can’t wait to see if this, really would be a good addition to the Haropla family.

Oh yes, we are definitely be looking at of the possible Gundam anime spin-off here, the Mobile suit HARO soon if this shit keeps up.
Regardless, we can’t deny that we are quite excited for the eventual release of this. With how awesome the Haroplas has been when it comes down in terms of how it feels to build and the kind of detail that it has, honestly, we are quite excited to see what do bandai has in store for us with this particular Haropla kit.
Yes, we are definitely quite excited for this one indeed and as well can’t wait to get this one too for the Homebase too.
MG 1/100 MSN-06S Sinanju Stein (Narrative Ver.)\

Release Date: 2019/01
Estimated price: JPY 6,375* (MYR RM 234.53* / USD $ 55.94*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Finally, we get to the last bit of this week’s retail announcement.
And HO, HO, HO it looks like we are getting a new MG kit at the start of 2019, BOYS (and Girls) and what better kit to start the year with the MG Sinanju Stein (Narrative Ver.)!
Though honestly? We weren’t surprised to see this MS being made into an MG form, but we are surprised that they decided to release this before the airing of the anime of the silver screen. If its the star of the show, yeah it would make sense, but since this anime is named the Gundam Narrative, shouldn’t the Narrative Gundam see the light of day as an MG kit first before this?
Then again, when we really think about it, they can just reuse the mold from the MG Sinanju Stein with at the same time adding some more parts taken from the original Sinanju. This isn’t really one MG that is THAT hard to remake into. Plus since the Sinanju Stein is a pretty looking kit….it made sense to have this be made into MG first.
And I have to say that I really dig this version a lot compared to the original version. Even the ‘Neo-Zeon’ ornaments on the Stein look good here, plus we do think that the white/grey color scheme really goes well with the whole kit. What’s more, the new redesigned High Beam Rifle for the narrative version of the Stein really looks dope as hell.

The Beam Rifle here looked like a combination in between the OG Sinanjus beam rifle and the HWS v Gundam’s (and Sinanju Stein’s) Beam Rifle. We do honestly think that the Beam Rifle here looks even better than its previous counterparts, heck we would even go as far to say that this looks even better than both the OG Sinanju’s beam rifle and HWS v Gundam (and again Sinanju Stein’s) beam rifle combined.
Though we admit, that the rest of the sinanju…besides the color scheme and be beam rifle, of course, doesn’t look any different than the ones that we’ve seen on other versions of the MG Sinanjus. So, we kind of expecting the building experience to be much less the same too. Then again, all of us here haven’t really built an MG Sinanju kit before, so yeah.

Since this just looks so badass, we might have this kit to be our first MG Sinanju kit, maybe then we would be able to experience what is the deal of the MG Sinanju.
Regardless, we are really looking forward to this one, and really this is one kit that we are really excited to see more of! 😀
Wait….we just realized something….that all of this kit is coming in this coming January……oh dear…we can hear a distant scream from my pocket now.
Anyways….
With that ends our 79th episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment and our final part of our two-part segment of the last week’s retail release announcements! With a new Haropla kit and a new MG Sinanju Stein on the way, we are really looking at an insane January indeed next year.
As we think about all the kits that we are getting both from retail and from P-Bandai, We wonder if our wallets will be able to survive the hail of new kits that is coming to make us broke af. Then again that wail from our pockets might indicate that it may not.
Anyways, we will be back with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and this Sunday we will have a new Unboxing and Frist impressions post on a very awesome RG kit, so do look forward to that!

Ooof you’re spot on. Those colors on the Grandpa are atrocious. I honestly think the white especially makes it look like a $5 toy.

Oh yeah, all of us here were quite surprised on why they decided to go with this instead of just making it look normal.
Really its a shame…
