Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.82

Finally, the release announcement that we have been waiting for has finally arrived!

We are back again this week with our 82nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment! This week we are going to go back to the retail side and will be talking about some of the retail release announcement that was made recently.

This week, it seems the Retail side FINALLY made an MG announcement that really got us all in tears and as well an MG kit that we weren’t expecting to see announced at all.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Gundam Zerachiel (HGBD)

HG 1/144 Gundam Zerachiel (HGBD)

Release Date: 2019/02

Estimated price: JPY 2,125* (MYR RM 77.81* / USD $ 18.82*)

Seriously what a sexy looking HG kit this is.

Well before we get to them AWESOME MG releases, let us first talk about the only HG kit that announced this week for the retail side and one that comes from the awesome HGBD line up.

The one that we can honestly say, is by far ONE OF THE SEXIEST HGBD KIT THAT WE’VE SEEN TO DATE! Then again there is a lot of awesome looking kits that actually came from this line of kits recently.

Though we have to admit that when we saw this for the first time, we all struggled to identify what MS this kit was based from. That is up until one of us mistakenly come across the Zerachiel’s base while hunting for a 00 HG kit and it was a kit that came from a movie that all of us thought that we will never speak of again.

Well, what kit the HGBD Zerachiel is based from you may wonder? Well, it would surprise you to know that this particular kit was based from the Harute from the Gundam 00’s movie A Awakening of the Trailblazer. Yes, you heard us right…. it was based on an MS from a movie that most of us (as well we are sure some of you as well) are trying to forget.

Regardless of the movie, the MS is from. The Gundam Harute is one MS design that we have to admit is a damn awesome MS design. It’s just a shame that the MS starred in a bad macross Gundam movie. Honestly, its good to see the Harute finally getting the treatment that it deserves by being reincarnated into the HGBD series!

Seriously this is one FABULOUS pose it had here.

Though to be honest when we look at both the Zerachiel and the Harute its really hard to tell the difference, because yes admittedly the Gundam Zerachiel is basically a redesigned Harute, but to compare the both is silly. Because regardless of the lack of the obvious upgrades we do still feel that the HGBD Zerachiel is by is far is the best version of the Harute yet.

And there changes that we can see here that supports our theory. For starters and the most obvious change that can be seen here is from the color scheme, gone is the yellow and white color scheme of the Harute, enter the dark blue and blue-ish grey color scheme of the Zerachiel. Somehow rather we do think that the color scheme that is used on the Zerachiel suits the whole look of the MS and what’s more, we do think that the blue and grey scheme that was applied here kind of made the kit look quite…menacing…no intimidating, to say the least.

Other changes that were observed is seen on the chest and the head unit of the HGBD Zerachiel, with a completely redesigned body unit that looks like a combination of the Harute’s body and the Zabanya’s (the movie’s version of the improved Dynames) cockpit hatch and vent cover. The changes made to head looked like the designers decided to combine both the Harutes head unit with the AGE II Magnums and the end result of it is really one impressive looking head unit, to say the least.

But to us, the best modification that was made to this is when we take a look at the HGBD Zerachiel’s transformation form.

Why you may ask, well let us first explain what the Zerachiel transforms into. The Zerachiel is able to transform into two modes, one as a flying tank another as a not flying-flying tank. What the difference you may ask? Well if we were, to be honest? There is no difference, it’s a flying tank! IT’S OUR DREAM COME TRUE!

YES! Its what we have always dreamed of having, an MS that could transform into a proper flying tank LIKE OUR FAVORITE FLYING TANK THE A-10. So yes, this is definitely would be one that we would be getting when it comes out next year.

With that said and done, let us now move on to the MG announcements, and we shall start with this…the

MG 1/100 AGE II Magnum Gundam (MG)

MG 1/100 AGE II Magnum Gundam (MG)

Release Date: 2019/03

Estimated price: JPY 4,675* (MYR RM 171.18* / USD $ 41.40*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This MG kit, however, doesn’t transform into a tank…

Aaah, YES, the AGE II Magnum. When we first talked about the HG variant, we all agreed back then that it was best looking HGBD kit. Heck even when we compared all the ones that we’ve seen in the HGBD line up now the AGE II Magnum still looks as good or better than some of the HGBD kit that was released after it.

We were hoping to see this being made into an MG form and sure enough the great Bandai the Gunpla plastic god finally graced us with the MG version of the AGE II Magnum.

And my oh my we were all so happy to see that the MG version of the AGE II Magnum looked even better than the HGBD version. However, unlike the HGBD Zerachiel that we talked about just now, we have already expected the AGE II Magnum to be pretty much the same as the original AGE II that it was based from.

This is without a doubt the best version of the AGE II yet

However, what we don’t understand while looking at the promotional materials is that why the retail side is marketing the kit like its freaking new. Seriously, all the gimmicks that they are marketing on the AGE II Magnum now, is something that we have already seen on the Original version back in 2012. Since there isn’t anything particularly new being made to the inner frame why not market some of the new things that the AGE II Magnum actually comes with.

Like for an instance they could touch on the new awesome color scheme of the AGE II Magnum that used a much more aggressive color when compared to the Toy-ish color scheme of the original. As well how they replaced the normal wings of the original with the clear beam-ish wings on the Magnum and not to mention how they replaced the head unit fins with a completely new mold for the Magnum’s Head unit. It’s a shame that the retail side decided to instead cover things that we already have known from the original kit.

Hmm, looking at this one can’t help to be reminded of the original AGE II

Though there is one thing that we are left wondering while we are looking at all these uncovered awesomeness….. What is it that we are left to wonder to our own devices? well, we are wondering if the clear beam wing things can as well be used as a melee weapon or do it able to be like a funnel-like thing like how it was in the show?

Well, all we got from the promotional pictures is that it does seem to be the case since there are a lot of indicators that lead us to that possibility. As well it was stated from the promotional materials that YES that is the case, and what more it was stated that we are as well will be getting a display base together with this MG kit.

Yes, there is a lot of awesome things that this kit does come with, honestly, we think its just sad that Bandai doesn’t want to highlight all these awesome things that the AGE II Magnum actually comes with.

Honestly, we need more awesome pictures don’t show us the same things that we already know.

Regardless of our feelings towards the matter, we admit that this is one MG Build Divers that we are looking forward to seeing more of and YES we are most definitely getting this next year. All we hope for is for the kit to be an awesome kit to build when we get our hands on this awesome looking MG kit.

MG 1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames (MG)

MG 1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames (MG)

Release Date: 2019/03

Estimated price: JPY 3,825* (MYR RM 140.05* / USD $ 33.87*)

The best looking MS out of all the other MS’s in the Gundam 00 series

Finally, after a long wait (well not that long actually, but still we have been waiting since the release of the MG Exia tbh) WE are finally graced with the news that most of us here have been waiting to hear Bandai makes an official announcement of.

And that is the official retail release announcement for the MG Gundam Dynames!

OH YES MY FRIENDS, now we can all rest safely because now we FINALLY have the official word of this coming. No more sudden cancellations and no more unfulfilled MG dreams.

Best of all, the MG Dynames looked even better now than back when it was first teased to us all us back in October, and after learning more new things it seems like the MG Dynames is to be a lot different than what all of us here was expecting it to be too.

Which we do feel to be a good thing.

Because of our speculation that the Dynames would be sharing a lot of parts (for the inner frame) from the MG Exia turns out to be a bit tad untrue. Since from what we are seeing here, it looks like it had more original parts then we were expecting, and what’s more, all the new awesome parts do look quite badass. Though it is not to say that you won’t find at all familiar parts from the Exia here. It is still there, but it’s not as much as we were expecting it to be.

Almost nothing that we are seeing here is familiar

Though, if we were, to be honest, the inner frame of the MG Dynames isn’t the star here, the whole bloody awesome look of the MG Dynames is and Goddamn we weren’t expecting it to BLOW US AWAY the second time ’round. Seriously there is just so much awesome packed in here, like from the awesome color scheme that it comes with, the gimmicks, the details on the parts and the goddamn awesome looks….it would be insane of us to not BE HYPED UP for this awesome MG.

And WHATS MORE, that all this plastic awesomeness is really cheap too! Priced at JPY 3,825* (MYR RM 140.05* / USD $ 33.87*), is something that we weren’t expecting it to be priced at since when we saw it for the first time we kind of expecting this to be much more expensive than this. Seriously, it would be really mad of us to pass this PARTICULAR MG up with THAT KIND OF PRICING.

Oh dat sniping pose is so awesome…..the sniper rifle even has a proper working tripod too

It is obvious that this is really the one that we are excited for, and for once we have a truly new retail MG kit that we can’t wait to have our hands on!

With that ends our 82nd episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment and finally to have the official confirmation of the release of the MG Dynames really made all of us here smile to no end! What’s more, from what we are seeing here it does look like the final product is looking to be quite promising!

Though we are quite surprised with the MG AGE II Magnum’s announcement if we were, to be honest, we really didn’t expect to hear the news of it this soon. Regardless, it does look like we are getting two awesome MG’s next year and we really can’t wait to see more of them in the coming months!
