Time to Re-review all the awesome kits that are coming next year!
HELLO!
We are back again this week with a new edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment and this week after the flurry of insane announcements that we’ve been getting in the past couple of weeks we figured that why not we take a step back and look back at 5 of our most anticipated Gunplas on both the retail side and P-Bandai side’s next year.
So, without further ado let us get into it, shall we?
Most anticipated SD release of 2019: SD Gundam Cross Silhouette ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam (Retail)
Release Date: 2019/02

Yes, out of all the kits that we’ve covered in the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we realized that the SD line up is the one that we always forget to include it in. With all the awesome kits that were getting announced at the same time, this poor thing was buried in all the other awesome announcement and to be really honest with all of you we actually came across this when we were actually doing some SD Christmas shopping in the home base.
And yes we all feel bad that we didn’t give this the same treatment as we did with the other Gunpla release announcement because really especially when one looks this good. I’m sure you all can tell that we were quite impressed by how awesome the SD Cross Silhouette version of the Freedom looked.
Really, Bandai really made the Freedom Gundam SD Cross Silhouette version looked a lot more badass than its other SD counterparts and it looked even better in its CS mode. Plus with all the SD Cross Silhouette kits getting quite positive reviews from people that have worked on most of them, we will not be surprised that this kit might as well be one would be rated highly.
We are looking forward to this version of the SD Gundam Cross Silhouette kit and with its war-winning looks, plus with its insanely cheap price, I really wouldn’t be able to imagine anyone passing this particular SD kit up.
Well, except us which keep pushing to do HG’s and RG’s all the time….maybe it is time to segment off SD Reviews to another day……hmm, that is an interesting idea indeed…
Most Anticipated HG Release of 2019: HG 1/144 FD-03 Gustav Karl (HGUC)(Retail)
Release Date: 2019/02
Estimated price: JPY 2,040* (MYR RM 76.17* / USD $ 18.16*)

To be really frank with all of you here, choosing the HG kit that we are most looking forward to is probably one of the hardest things that we had to do here for the blog because really there is so much awesomeness that is coming next year for the HG line-up, that we really spent almost the whole day to pick up the one that really stands out the most.
After we reviewed all the upcoming 2019 HG kits, we all agreed that this is definitely the one that we are really looking forward to getting next year.
Why wouldn’t we be? The HG Gustav had one of the chunkiest, the biggest and the handsomest look that has ever come from the Mass-Production MS’s HG kits that we’ve seen coming from the HGUC line up. Not to mention it had some pretty awesome gimmicks that are attached to it, which does make us quite curious about what new things that this kit would bring to the HGUC line of kits.
With all these awesome things that are coming with the HG Gustav Karl, I really can’t imagine us not being super excited for it. There are so many things that we are looking forward to and plus with the insane amount of high praises that was thrown into the recent HG offerings recently, it kind of fueled our excitement for this particular HG kit!
May it really be as good as it looks.
Most Anticipated RG Release of 2019: RG 1/144 RX-0 [N] Gundam Unicorn 02 Banshee Norn (Final Battle Specification) (P-Bandai)

Even though we did have a hard time with choosing the one HG kit that we look forward to most for 2019, but that isn’t really much a problem for us when it comes down to the RG line up.
Why?
Well mostly because there isn’t really any new confirmed RG kit that was set for next years release from the retail side and the only thing that is confirmed so far that is set for release next year…is something from P-Bandai that technically have released this year.
The RG Gundam Unicorn 02 Banshee Norn.
Though it is not to say that we are not excited for the release of this, we do. Heck, we even stated in the 80th episode that we preferred this version over the original version that was released earlier this year.
Yes, yes we realized that this is basically just MORE of the same RG Unicorn that we’ve known and love but goddamn it would be insane of us not to want this version since…just look at that gold, green and blue-ish black color combo there. How can you not want to have this particular Unicorn around in your life?
Well unless you have been building one too many Unicorn Gundam….maybe then you need to lay off the unicorn addiction…
Most Anticipated MG Release of 2019: MG 1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames (MG) (Retail)
Release Date: 2019/04

This was a no-brainer for all of us here since we have been waiting for the best 00 MS to be made into MG 9 years for Bandai to finally give the Dynames the MG treatment. When we saw the final reveal (albeit in a CG form) a few weeks back, we have to admit that this was the only Retail MG kit that we constantly talk about whenever anyone of us talks about the upcoming 2019 MG kit release.
Because unlike the other MG kit that was slotted for release, only the MG Dynames is the only one out of the three upcoming 2019 MG release that is something that wasn’t fully based upon something that has been released previously and this is as well, a kit with an almost completely (well there is some Exia DNA that could be seen here) new mold. Not to mention they really did a pretty good job at it too, the MG Dynames is really an MG kit that has one of the best look and design when compared to the other upcoming retail MG kits
But as we go through the MG Dynames even more closely now, we all started to realize that at some poses, the MG Dynames looked awfully similar to the MG GM Sniper II. Not to mention that the manipulator unit for the MG Dynames looked…so awfully similar to the ones seen on the MG GM Sniper II too. Then again there are just so many other improvements that were made here that is something that not even the GM Sniper II is capable of doing…
especially like the pose below.
To see the head being able to angle itself like that, without having it detach itself from the body unit does manage to impress us lot quite a lot (ha-ha). So in some way even if it does have or share some of the same parts from the previous released MG kits, it really doesn’t matter as much since what we are getting here is pretty badass regardless.
We are really looking forward to snatching this one up next year and really finally see on how this kit would work in real life!
Most Anticipated P-Bandai Release of 2019: MG 1/100 MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Dragon (MG) (P-BANDAI)
Release Date: 2019/02
Estimated price: JPY 7,560* (MYR RM 282.29* / USD $ 67.30*)

It should be said that before we all decided to do this, we all originally wanted to do a special section for the Most Anticipated PG kit of 2019…but then we realized that:-
- We won’t be able to have enough money to get a PG kit EVER.
- There isn’t really any new PG kit that we know currently that is in the works or planned to be released any time soon…
So we decided to do a P-Bandai section instead since the probability of us getting a P-Bandai is more likely then us getting a PG kit and when we decided on this category this kit immediately sprang to mind.
The Astray Red Dragon….the MG kit with the most badass name (and look) to date.
We know that we just talked about the Red Dragon last week, but honestly, though…it would be insane of us not to include this in since it is really the second BEST looking upcoming MG (the first being the MG Dynames of course) kit that is set for release next year.
Even though yes, it is based on one the most milked SEED MS to date…oh wait, to be more precise, one of the most milked MS in all the Gundam universe. But honestly, there are enough NEW things that are added to the Astray Red Dragon that we feel that is enough to justify getting this version alone.
The Insane looking weapons and just the sheer amount of stuff that you are getting here make any price that you will be paying for the Astray worth it. Plus it is quite refreshing to see the MG design team really going all out again in creating something that is completely bonkers.
However, we are quite baffled on one thing, as we all looked at how popular the Astray is, it makes us wonder why oh why didn’t they just release a spinoff anime based entirely from the SEED Astray cast? Since Bandai has such a hardon on the Astray series I feel that it is weird to see this popular thing not getting an anime show based on it.
But then again we have the Crossbone Gundam…that haven’t yet gotten an anime show…and there is a lot of them too being released by Bandai…
Anyways, with the kit dropping down this coming February and seeing the kind of reception it has been garnering, it does look to be the Gunpla kit that everyone would be looking forward to getting next year.

I’d like to see a “meet the editors” post sometime! With Gunpla, you see a lot of hands holding tiny pieces, but who’s behind scenes? Maybe you could do a series and call it, “Behind the Nippers” 🤣 You could introduce the team, maybe show work spaces… who knows! Just a thought!
Oh and the Dynames? Holy smokes that’s begging for some serious weathering! Like, been out in the elements for weeks holding position… waiting for the perfect shot. Now I have to see if I can find 1/100 scale camo netting. The backlog just keeps getting longer and longer.

BUT HELL YEAH, THE DYNAMES IS LOOKING TO BE SOMETHING THAT WE WOULD ALL LOVE TO GET HERE. ALL THAT WAITING WAS WORTH IT. We all do have our own ideas on how to work on the Dynames, but for now all we really wanted to do, its just have some real alone time with it.
