Some belated Chrismas P-Bandai news for all!
We are back again this week with our 85th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment! But before we start, we the Kimi the Builder Blog Editorial team just wanted to wish all of our Christian readers to have a Merry Chrismas! May all of you have an awesome Christmas Celebration as well to those that are currently traveling around I really hope that all of you have a safe trip to wherever that you are heading, have fun and may you all have an awesome holiday!
This week for the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be talking about some of the the…pretty interesting release announcements by P-Bandai that were made this week! The first time in months….that isn’t…as mind-blowing as the ones that we’ve been getting this week?
Well….to put it simply, we are getting a pretty normal kits release announcements this week, haha.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
RE 1/100 LM111E03 Gun Blaster (RE100)
Release Date: 2019/05
Estimated price: JPY 3,780* (MYR RM 143.22* / USD $ 34.28*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Out of all the kits that we were expecting to see more of, this isn’t really what we all had in mind. Though we were kind of expecting to see this kit at some point, but we weren’t expecting to see this being announced so soon if I were, to be honest.
Though with the Gun EZ hitting our shores soon, I guess we should’ve expected this kit to be announced at the same time of the release…. plus, when we think about it, it’s not like you need to do anything much to change it to the Gun Blaster Variant. Not to mention, having the release announcement of this coincides with the release of the RE100 Gun EZ its a pretty sensible move.
Regardless it was pretty interesting to see the changes that were made in turning them, because really all they did with this kit is that they just made a few changes to the parts of the RE100 Gun EZ with giving it a slightly different colored for some of the parts, as well slap it with a backpack system and voila you get a Gun Blaster variant. Though we do admit that when we saw this for the first time, we really didn’t immediately recognize the kit that it was based on. Well, up until we started the research and discussion part for this kit.
Which is quite amusing to us here, because it’s not like there weren’t any major changes that were made here besides the ones that we just touched upon. But yet, the changes that were made here were enough to make us not recognize it immediately as soon as we saw it. In which we do think that P-Bandai did a pretty good job for making a strong case to get this one with the RE100 Gun EZ.
Plus, the RE100 Gun Blaster does as well look quite good. Since obviously, it inherited many of the good features of the RE100 Gun EZ. Honestly, we do think that this is really that is a no-brainer to get when it comes out, especially so to those that appreciate the look of the Gun EZ and to those that might want more RE100 Gun EZ’s in their life.
Plus, it should be said that, right after we go through the RE100 Gun Blaster’s release announcement promotional material, it does manage to spark some interest in us to get the RE100 Gun EZ. Since it would really be nice to have both the RE100 Gun Blaster and the RE100 Gun EZ posing together at the Homebase.
MG 1/100 RGC-80 GM Cannon (Red Head) (Jaburo Defense Corps Specification)
Release Date: 2019/03
Estimated price: JPY 4,320* (MYR RM 163.68* / USD $ 39.18*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Dang, really out of all the kits that we talk about in this blog…. the one that we really didn’t expect to see more of again this year THIS QUICKLY is really this…..
Another MG GM Cannon kit.
I can’t believe we would be talking about another GM Cannon after we just talked about it back in our 59th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment.
Though yes, we do realize that this kit is set to be released in 2019 but goddamn we’ve been getting so much GM Cannon in these past few years that we felt like P-Bandai loves the MG GM Cannon variants more then they care to admit.
Plus, it’s not like the kit looks like it had anything new or even extraordinarily enough on the table for it to offer. You can’t count the “Nemo” beam rifle as something new since really we’ve seen it in many iterations in many different kits.
But, we admit that they still made ‘some’ changes that we feel is worth talking about and that would be when we take a look at the Red Head’s GM Cannon’s color scheme. Yes, the color scheme is something that we can really comment here since really it’s not every day that we see an EFSF MS with an ALL RED color scheme like this. Looking at it we can’t help to feel like if the Red Comet decided to finally join the Earth Federation to get back at the Zabi’s.
and instead of getting a Gundam he takes a GM cannon instead.
Despite this being more less the same MG GM Cannon with a new paint job, we do admit that we like how the MG Red Head GM Cannon looked overall but honestly if the MG GM Cannon wasn’t getting this yearly releases BS, we might be tempted to be getting it but since they are going down this yearly path…..
we really can’t be excited for it as we did when we saw the White Dingo’s back in June.
Really, as we look at this MG GM Cannon, it does makes us wonder…. if they love releasing the MG GM Cannon so much, why didn’t they just let the retail side release the retail version and just be done with it. Its really painful seeing them keep releasing new versions after another year in and year out….
Yes, we do like getting all these MG GM variants but at the same time, there are other MG variants that we wished that they would cover, instead of focusing on releasing another MG GM Cannon variant.
Well, at the very least they didn’t give us another MG Unicorn Variant.
With that ends our 85th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! Its pretty interesting to end the last 2018 Let’s Talk Gunpla segment with some P-Bandai news, even though we do admit that this weeks news isn’t as insane as the ones that we’ve been getting in this past few weeks.
But even with that said, looking at the RE100 Gun Blaster, we can’t help to think that we might be seeing the RE100 Javelin soon since we can’t help to feel like that backpack looks awfully close to Javelin’s. We do hope that we would see that next year because it would be really cool to be able to get the modern take of our favorite V Gundam Mass Production MS.
Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and this Sunday KIMI will be back with either a review or an unboxing of a kit! So, do look forward to that! 😀
