Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.89

P-Bandai apparently has more in store in their P-Bandai pockets, sneaky.

We are back again this week with our 89th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment and this week we are going to be talking about….

Some P-Bandai release announcements.

Yes, we are going to talk about all the recent P-Bandai release announcements and see what P-Bandai has in store for us at the start of this year. Oh, don’t forget to hold your wallets close chaps, because today we are going in deep bois.

So without further ado…lets get into it shall we?

Hail to the HGUC KING

Yes, let us start this segment by talking about a kit that…actually was announced during the same week as the reveal of HGCE Destiny. But since we are REALLY excited about the HGCE Destiny, we decided to just talk about it this week instead.

In a way it really gives us some time, to fully appreciate this…very beautiful HG kit.

This is really one of those kits that we really need time to process…

With the release of the Woundwort last year and the kind of reception that P-Bandai been getting from the Advance of Z fans, we honestly aren’t that surprised to see P-Bandai continue bringing us more Advance of Z HG kits. In fact, that we were kind of expecting P-Bandai announcing the follow-up to one of the most unique looking HG kits to date, this year.

And boi, OH BOI what a follow-up this is turning out to be. They finally decided to give us THE BEST WOUNDWORT variant yet!

What a huge beautiful boi he is…

From the outset, it does seem like there isn’t anything new being made to the base Woundwort, well except for the color of course. But honestly, the changes and additions that were made here were pretty significant, from the ‘Titans’ infamous color scheme, the two badass cannons, and that awesome MA form. It’s really mind-boggling to see what P-Bandai is offering here with the HGUC TR-6 [Hazel II].

There is really so much for us to process here if we were, to be frank!

This is definitely hands down a much more badass looking Woundwort variant and one that left us all speechless when we saw this P-Bandai HGUC beast. We can really see that P-Bandai really managed to again pull it off with this reveal and announcement because if we were, to be frank…..they are really making us want to just ditch everything that we had on hand and just Pre-Order this kit.

Even in MA mode, the TR-6 [Hazel II] looks badass….

Fortunately, the only thing that is currently stopping us from Pre-Ordering this kit is the fact that we are so freaking broke now… All we can do for now is just keep pictures of the TR-6 [Hazel II] in our wallets so we can marvel at its beauty even when we are out and just cry in our sleep knowing that we can’t afford in our financial state.

And yes, we as well have the MG Dynames picture there in our wallets too.

HG 1/144 MSK-008 Dijeh [Narrative Ver.] (HGUC)

HG 1/144 MSK-008 Dijeh [Narrative Ver.] (HGUC)

Release Date: 2019/05

Estimated price: JPY 2,160* (MYR RM 81.18* / USD $ 19.73*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Here we observe, the ever-cunning Dijeh sneaking up to its prey, closing in for the kill…

Aaah, the Narrative version of the Dijeh.

When we all first saw this MS getting the movie treatment, we all knew that this version of the Dijeh would eventually come as a P-Bandai release (we know, it sucks…but that is how Bandai works nowadays, unfortunately), and unsurprisingly enough here it is, in its all Dijeh glory. However, as we looked at how quickly they made the announcement of this version after the release of both the movie and the Z gundam version of the Dijeh to the public, we assumed that they have already had this version planned even before the movie was scheduled to be released.

Sneaky P-Bandai.

Not to mention too that it is as well looked pretty good, though it is not as good looking as the previously talked about HGUC TR-6 [Hazel II] but still it looked pretty awesome. Plus to those that are already a fan of the HGUC Dijeh and would want to have more Dijeh’s in your life, this might be the kit for you.

Oh hai, Dijeh miss me?

Because from what we see here, the P-Bandai version (or better known as the Narrative version) of the HG DIjeh doesn’t seem to have any major changes made to the kit besides new ‘Titan’-ish color scheme, an newly redesigned beam rifle on top of the original beam rifle from the original and not to mention the awesome spotlight attachment option on the shoulder unit of the P-Bandai version of the Dijeh.

Which does honestly makes the narrative’s version of the Dijeh looked pretty badass. Since we are pretty keen on getting the HGUC Dijeh, it would definitely be awesome if we as well could as well have this version with us in the Homebase.

Actually, to see the Titans color scheme on the Dijeh it’s not that bad.

But since it is released at the same month as the TR-6 Hazel II….we might prioritize getting the Hazel II first before getting this one….. hmm, when I think about it….now we’re not looking forward to having to deal with seeing the both of them together in the same shelve. Hopefully, we would have enough money to get both of them…

but this two is not the only thing that is going to be released in this coming may…we as well have a new P-Bandai RG coming and this time they will be doing another MSV kit…

RG 1/144 MS-06R-1A High-Mobility Zaku II Eric Mansfield Custom

RG 1/144 MS-06R-1A High-Mobility Zaku II Eric Mansfield Custom

Release Date: 2019/05

Estimated price: JPY 3,240* (MYR RM 121.73 * / USD $ 29.64 *)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Aaah, finally we get to see an RG version of the MG kit that we haven’t gotten yet.

With the release of the Zaku II R-1A Shin Matsunaga, Gabby hazard’s Zaku II R-2 and the Zaku II Mine layer as P-Bandai releases last year. We thought there is no way that P-Bandai would continue on releasing new RG Zaku II MSV kits. But a year went by and now here we are, with another new RG kit based on the MSV design.

This time it seems like P-Bandai is releasing one of the very best looking Zaku II R-1A variants, the Eric Mansfield version.

Though this is not the first time we have seen the Eric Mansfield’s Zaku II being made into the gunpla form since we have seen this version in the MG form 2 years ago. Now, however, we are seeing the kit now getting the P-Bandai RG treatment, it does seem like the RG version looked even more of a badass when compared to the MG version. With the RG version having parts that looked super detailed, the awesome decals, the awesome color scheme and last but not least that badass looking head unit, this RG kit is without a doubt is one of the insanely sexy RG kits that we’ve seen.

Sexy, but we all know the truth

With Kimi’s previous experiences with the RG Johnny Ridden’s Custom Zaku II R2, it should be noted during that review he did mention that that particular RG kit inherited many problems that are as well present on the RG Zaku II variant. As well we all knew that you can easily convert the R-2 variant to the R-1A variant with omitting some of the parts, so looking at this we kind of know how this kit is going to be……

a fragile mess.

We really can’t help to feel sad when looking at this awesome looking RG we really wish they would do something about all of them loose parts…

As well knowing that P-Bandai wouldn’t go as far then to fix the issue kind of making us turned off by it. Plus with the kit being quite expensive….. well more and more this is looking to really be one kit that we really would find quite hard to justify getting, even though we do like the kit, quite a lot.

Regardless, we do admit that as a collector’s item, this is one that fans of the Eric Mansfield should not miss if you don’t mind the annoying issues, but as a gunpla builder as much as it is good looking …. you’d be better saving up and find the MG version of this. We’re pretty sure you would have more fun with that than this if we were, to be honest and it still going to be one handsome boi.

MG 1/100 RGM-96Xs Jesta (Shezzar Type, Team B&C) (MG)

MG 1/100 RGM-96Xs Jesta (Shezzar Type, Team B&C) (MG)

Release Date: 2019/04

Estimated price: JPY 5,184* (MYR RM 194.76 * / USD $ 47.40 *)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Wait what…how did you get released earlier?

Out of all the announcements that we are expecting to hear from P-Bandai, this is one announcement that we really weren’t expecting to see being released as a P-Bandai, in fact, all of us here really didn’t expect to see this being announced first before we see the MG Narrative Gundam.

But yet, here it is.

However, it is not to say that we aren’t excited about getting this awesome MG kit. In fact, we are quite excited to see this version of the Jesta finally being announced as an MG release, though we do admit seeing it being as a P-Bandai release does make our wallets scream of endless pain.

P-Bandai releasing another badass looking Jesta variant.

Regardless of that fact, looking at it one can’t help to feel like any investment made on this kit, whether as an investment, collection or just for the pure joy of building, the MG Jesta Shezzar is really one MG kit that we feel is worth spending money on.

Well for one, this MG kit really does come with quite a huge collection of goodies, just like we see with its quite recently released HG counterpart. Which is quite impressive if we were, to be honest. Even though the Jesta itself doesn’t seem to be getting any major updates to its looks, well, except for the new part for the head unit (that head-mounted night vision goggles) but everything else? Looks pretty much the same like the original MG version that we’ve seen. Plus if you have the experience building the MG Jesta before, you will find that the kit would be quite familiar for you in that sense at least.

A familiar kit with some pretty badass looking upgrades

To those that haven’t had the chance to try this kit out, well you are in luck because this kit is probably one of the best MG kits that they could’ve have based it on and one, that we really don’t mind going at it again.

With that ends our 89th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of this weeks P-Bandai’s announcement? Is there any kit that you see here that is of interest? We are pretty excited for both the HGUC TR-6 [Hazel II] and the upcoming MG Jesta (shezzar Type, Team B & C). Those two does look quite promising and we really can’t wait to get our hands on them awesome kits soon!

Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and this Sunday KIMI will be back with an unboxing or a review. So, do look forward to that! 😀
