Oh hey, a Let’s Talk Gunpla segment on Eid.
HELLO! We are back!
In this weeks 107th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment we are going to be FINALLY will be taking a look at all the new retail announcements that was made recently. From what we can see here, it does look like we have alot to cover here, and as well alot to talk about. Especially for one particular release here…
But before we get to any of them, we just want to take the time to wish all of our Muslim readers to have a very merry Eid Mubarak. We do hope all of you here have an awesome time celebrating with your friends and family. As well to those that are driving or flying or even to those that are taking the bus back to your respective hometowns, to do have a safe trip back home to your loved ones.
We do sincerely hope this holiday season for ya’ll to be a great one.
Anyways back to the original programming, let us now talk about all the upcoming retail offerings, shall we?
HG 1/144 XXXG-01SR Gundam Sandrock (HGAC)

Release Date: 2019/08
Estimated price: JPY 1,275* (MYR RM 49.27* / USD $ 11.77* / EUR € 10.54)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

After the release of the retail Maganac and the announcement of P-Bandai’s 36 sets HGAC Maganac Crops and the Maganac leader units, we know that the announcement of the HGAC Sandrock is not that far off to see the retail light. Sure enough, this week we finally get a confirmation of the release date for the HGAC Sandrock and some very spicy info too.
We were quite impressed by what we see with what is offered here with the HGAC Sandrock. Everything about it so far that we can see here, seems to be quite on point. What we meant with ‘on point’ here is that, instead of taking notes from the Ver.K.A, the HGAC version of the Sandrock’s looks more closely like what we see with the anime version.

We as well can see that besides the look, the retail side as well equipped this kit with some very awesome gimmicks. We can’t help to feel that Bandai is really doing all they can into making this to be one impressive HGAC kit.
Although as we go through the promotional materials, we can’t help to feel like there is something missing here, one that we kind of hoping to see more of…and that is the…
Beam Machine Gun.
Yes, I know that this isn’t really what MOST people here would want to get the HGAC Sandrock for, but we do think that the Beam Machine Gun is as an important weapon to the Gundam Sandrock as does the big massive heat blade things. We were scouring through the promo materials and the press release for any sign of that, but it doesn’t seem like Bandai is including it in with the kit, which we are quite sad to see.

However, we still hope that it would be included in with the kit, and hopefully, we would see it in the final release of this HGAC kit.
We are really looking forward to this one, and we are as well looking forward to finally see more Gundams from the wing series seeing the HGAC line up release.
HG 1/144 Petitgguy Chara`Gguy Sarah (HGPG)

Release Date: 2019/09
Estimated price: JPY 765* (MYR RM 29.56* / USD $ 7.06* / EUR € 6.32)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Out of all the kits that we were expecting to see, this particular kit isn’t really one of the kits that we are really looking forward to seeing more of. Especially when there aren’t any new mainline HG Diver kits that were coming up and as well when you remember that the actual anime ended quite some time ago.
However, considering that this HGPG is still getting a retail treatment and not the P-Bandai one, is really something that we do need to celebrate. Since nowadays, there is not alot of kits, especially ones from HG line up that would get this kind of continuous support even if their said anime has ended a long time ago.

Although when we take a look at the kit itself, we noticed that the Petitgguy Sarah really has no real major change being made to its overall look and design. Well…not to say that it doesn’t have anything new here since it does come with a pretty awesome looking faceplates. It is when we take a look at the gimmicks or even the color scheme of the kit, it is there that we can see that the Petitgguy Sarah looks more less like something that we have seen on other existing variants of the Petitgguy kits that have come before it.
Considering that the kit has been in the market for quite some time, at the very least by now we are expecting more from this line by now. But then again, it is a cheap kit and it is as well looked really cute, so maybe it is not that bad?

To be really frank, we aren’t THAT excited about this one, even though admittedly it is something that we aren’t expecting to see being announced. Though we do admit that this announcement might be something that a fan of the anime series or the kit collectors might be excited for. Which we do think that for fans is a good investment if you are planning to get it.
But for the non-fans though? Well, I can see almost all of us skipping this one up as well.
MG 1/100 ZGMF-1000/A1 Gunner Zaku Warrior (Lunamaria Hawke Custom)

Release Date: 2019/09
Estimated price: JPY 3,655* (MYR RM 141.51* / USD $ 33.88* / EUR € 30.11)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

FINALLY, the kit that we have been waiting for to see more of FINALLY gets the official release date and after seeing more of it, we have to say that we are……..
PRETTY DISAPPOINTED WITH WHAT WE ARE SEEING HERE.
As you guys have probably have noticed, we all here were really looking forward to seeing more of this MG Seed Destiny Zaku up. We have been talking about it for weeks, anticipating and making alot of speculations on how awesome it’ll be as soon as its official press release is out.
So Imagine our disappointment as we all here looked at it for the first time, we thought at first that since this kit had an awesome look maybe they would as well give this kit an awesome unarmored look. But that doesn’t seem to be the case as soon as we take a closer look at the kit…
To be honest, with how most of the SEED MG Ver.2.0 was looking, this honestly shouldn’t have come as a surprise to us all. But when you consider that this was the first time they would be taking on the SEED’s version of the Zaku for the first time in the MG form, you may think that they might want to take cues from how the first iteration of the MG SEED or the MG SEED Destiny kit inner frames were designed while still combining the good bits from the remastered MG SEED version into this Zaku.

But no, they decided to take the Remastered MG SEED route all the way here, with sacrificing the inner frame and giving it a ridiculously detailed outer frame look.
But don’t get us wrong, we have no issues with the kit having a handsome look and looking badass. But what we have a problem with, it’s the fact that we have been getting lazily designed kits year after year from this particular MG line up and its really frustrating to see the earlier MG SEED adoptions have a much more elaborate inner frame when compared to newer remastered MG SEED kits.
So, is it wrong of us to expect the Lunamaria’s MG Gunner Zaku Warrior to be better or as good as all the other iteration of the MG SEED kits?
Although this unfortunate news does kill alot of our interest in getting the kit. But it is not to say we are not still not going to get this MG kit. Because regardless of how we feel about the kit overall, we still somehow have hope that the kit might still turn out to be an alright kit.
Plus, we just love this Zaku too much to not want to get it.

With that concludes this week 107th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of this week’s retail kit announcements? Are you looking forward to any of the upcoming retail offerings? We are really bummed out with this week’s retail release announcements, though it started off well with the HGAC Sandrock. But we really were left quite disappointed with how lacking the MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior was.
We still hope that maybe we shall see better MG releases in the future because right now it really feels like Bandai not really as focused on giving us better MG kits nowadays…
Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and hopefully, this Sunday (or on Monday morning) Kimi will be back with the review or an Unboxing of a kit! So do look forward to that!
