Unboxing and First Impressions of MG 1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames (MG)

It has been a while since I felt this good unboxing an MG kit

I never knew how much my disappointment with the MG line up was is effecting me right after I’ve completed the MG EX-S Gundam. Even though yes, I did unbox a P-Bandai MG kit recently, but that was for work, not something that I really wanted to do. To be honest, It really took me a while to find the motivation to pick up the MG line-up again after, even with the P-Bandai kit that I unboxed, I wasn’t that keen to start work on.

I admit it may be due to the fact that I do have some insanely high expectations for the MG lineup. How wouldn’t I be? After experiencing the greats from the OYW MG Ver.2.0 line up of MG kits, I’m sure that you as well would be expecting the MG line up to keep pushing boundaries with what they can do.

So you can imagine why I was insanely disappointed when every time Bandai releases sub-par kits.

But after working on some of the HG and RG line up recently, I knew that I shouldn’t be too hung up with the past kits and shouldn’t as well be too hard on the newer MG kits. That is why coming into unboxing this I really don’t have so many expectations of this kit.

Basically, I had VERY low expectations of the kit. But even with that said, when I got this kit I really didn’t have a very good impression of it.

Why? Well because of the boxart…here.

A good, simple-looking boxart, so what’s the problem here?

Yes, yes that is a good looking boxart, I admit but…

I really don’t feel it with this boxart. Because frankly I have seen a lot of the other better-looking ones that came from this line-up. Plus I honestly don’t think the scene that they used here is attractive enough to get people outside of the hobby to be interested with getting this.

Even I would admit that when I first lay saw this, I wasn’t immediately taken by it. Frankly, if this wasn’t in the blog’s build schedule, I might just give this one a pass.

However, despite it having a plain, unattractive boxart, I was still quite taken by the look and design of the MG Dynames’s packaging side section. There were alot of very interesting things to go through and not to mention they really made a damn good job in showcasing the abilities of the MG Dynames here.

There is something about the font and the way they posed the kit that makes the kit look really badass here

The only side that has something that I’m familiar with

Though the good things don’t just end there, because it just got better as I open up the box.

The one view that matters to me for each unboxing that I’ve made

Because all the runners and their individual parts for the MG Dynames looked really well produced. All the parts looked well molded and the details seen on certain sections of this kit do looks insanely good. How insanely detailed it is you may wonder? Well, they were so detailed to the point where they managed to nicely mold the haro and the sniper control unit in for the MG Dynames’s cockpit area.

If you squint hard enough, you may be able to see the hero and the Dynames’s sniper firing unit

Another thing that I’m quite impressed by is the colors that was used here for the MG Dynames’s runners. Which does make all of them look really good and it should also be said that this kit is one of those MG kits that is insanely color-accurate. Up to a point where I don’t really think about painting any sections of the kit.

Although I may not have an idea on how they would behave when the time comes but as I take a closer look at how some of the parts are gated here, I have a feeling that I might not have so much of a hard time working on em.

The green that they choose here for this MG Dynames really makes the part look really good

Even the white parts look good

Everything was looking quite good so far for the MG Dynames’s unboxing, but that’s not the end of the good times yet because I still have the manual to go through here and boy oh boy I’m in for a treat here.

Because god this is one of the best modern MG manuals that I’ve seen to date.

It started off with using the same art from the box art, however when I started to flip the pages I realized that the MG Dynames’s manual probably has one of the best lore section that I’ve seen with the modern MG kits and since it was as well well translated, I really had a blast reading the lore of MG Dynames.

Although, the format of the instruction section is like what we are accustomed to. But as I go through the manual, I noticed that there were alot of very detailed sub-instructions made for the more complicated section of the kit. Something that I do admit that is something that I’m not accustomed to seeing on any kits manual.

Which was something that I was really impressed by when I saw them.

More of the plain boxart is seen here, although I do admit the font that is used here does make it look quite good

This was probably one of the best lore section that I’ve read to date

And it as well had one of the best middle section as well.

A pretty standard instruction section with alot of more detailed explanations on how to handle certain sections lined up all throughout the manual

Overall, I do like what I see here with the kit, and admittedly even though yes I do come into this with some VERY low expectations for this MG kit, however, I cannot deny the more I take a look at this, the more I feel like I’m unboxing at an MG Ver.2.0 kit. Yes, this kit is starting to look quite promising for me here.

Although, I will remind myself not to be too overly excited with what I’m seeing here and rest assured I will keep both my eyes open for this one.

With that ends this week’s Unboxing and First Impressions for the P-Bandai MG 1/100 GN-002 Gundam Dynames (MG). What do you think of this week’s kit that I just unboxed? Do you yourselves have the same experience as I did with this MG kit? By far one of the most promising MG kit that I’ve unboxed earlier this year, one that I wasn’t really expecting to like when I started with it.

But I do as well feel like unboxing this envigorates my excitement to start work on another new MG kit.

Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and this Sunday Kimi will be back with the review or an unboxing, So do look forward to that!
