The RG kit that might dethrone the RG Sazabi off his chair

YES, it is finally here. After a long and arduous wait, I finally have this RG kit in my possession. One that is by now has become one of the most critically acclaimed kits of this year.

Which is why today I will be giving you guys my very first impressions while I unbox this RG 1/144 scaled RX-93 ν Gundam kit and find out for myself if this kit has some signs if this RG kit is as good as most people say it would be.

Which is why the very first things that we would be taking a look here is the box packaging for this RG kit.

I admit that when I saw the boxart, I have to say that I was insanely impressed. Even though I have seen the ν Gundam many times before in many different forms. Nothing that I’ve seen before could be compared to how good the ν Gundam looked on this RG box packaging.

Even without changing the format, they still somehow managed to create render something that looks really amazing here

The funny thing is that, is not like the format of the boxart for this RG kit changed in any way. It still looked like what you would expect with any other RG front packaging. It’s just that I really feel like they really did a damn good job in rendering the look of the RG ν Gundam here.

In which I admit does increase my interest in working on this kit as soon as I can.

However, I was a little bit disappointed to see the box packaging to be…alot thinner when compared to the RG Sazabi’s when the width is the same as the RG Sazabi’s. Yes, I know that is an unfair assessment since the Sazabi is alot more Thicker and bulkier compared to the ν Gundam. However, I really do think that instead of making the packaging look like this, why didn’t they just do a normal styled packaging?

If all of the RG Sinanju can be fitted in a much more normal-sized packaging, why isn’t this able to do so?

Regardless of that, it doesn’t mean at all that they made the side section to be any less entertaining for me to go through. It was still quite fun for me to go through all the lore about the ν Gundam and as well learn about all the awesome gimmicks of the RG ν Gundam. I as well admit that going through the side section for this badass RG kit does as well help me to build my excitement for the kit.

Though the box is a bit thinner compared to the RG Sazabi’s, however, we can still see that they are still quite generous with the amount of information that you are getting here.

However, nothing would prepare me of the kind of awesomeness that I would be experiencing as soon as I unboxed this kit.

Because the very first things that I noticed as soon I opened the box is just by how good the insides for this RG kit looked. I would even go as far as to say that the runners and its individual parts looked even better than the MG ν Gundam Ver.K.A’s parts. Every single section for this RG kit was masterfully molded and there is not a single section of the parts that I see here that I was disappointed with.

This is really some insane details that I’m seeing here for this RG kit.

Even the white parts for this kit looked good

Not to mention too that the colors for the individual parts for the RG ν Gundam looked really good here and so far from what we are seeing here, I would even say that the RG ν Gundam color separation is one of the best ones that I’ve seen on an RG kit yet. Although I do admit that this remains to be seen since I haven’t worked on it. But from what I’m seeing here, most of the parts here does look quite close to the MS. Even the stickers in which I know is definitely going to be the most annoying thing to apply on this RG kit, looks good here.

It does say alot about the sheer quality that we are seeing here with this kit.

Although, seeing how much runners that we are getting here does help me to reinforce my feelings on the fact that that this particular RG kit should’ve just been given normal style RG packaging instead of being given a wide and thin box packaging like this. I know that they might have wanted the RG ν Gundam packaging to match the RG Sazabi’s but I really feel that they should’ve just stuck with the normal packaging for this one. I really can’t brain the fact that I needed to waste so much space for something that I know could’ve just fit inside a normal box.

They really could fit all of these parts in a much more smaller box, which I really don’t get why they made the ν Gundam to have this kind of box packaging.

Another thing that I was a bit disappointed with, is the lack of innovation on this RG ν Gundam manuals. We see Bandai trying to incorporate many new things with the newer MG manuals as what we seen with the recently unboxed MG Gundam NT-1, however the same cannot be said with the RG ν Gundam manual. The format for the RG ν Gundam’s manual still remains the same as all the other manuals that we’ve seen with other older RG kits, with all the same features that you would expect to see with all the other RG manuals.

But even with that said, I still find myself really enjoying the time I had as I go through some of the lore that was stuffed here in the manual. Even though I was kind of hoping that they would cram more lore here, but I do admit that I am ok with what they did manage to cram in here for the RG ν Gundam’s manual.

More of the badass look of the badass RG ν Gundam

As you may expect, you will see an English translated section of the lore

and the untranslated section of the lore

Plus it is not like the visuals that we see for the construction instructions section for this manual really needed much updating, it is decent enough for us to navigate ourselves through to work with. So even though I was disappointed with the lack of change on the manual side, but frankly it’s not like the manual needed much updating anyways.

Although the visuals of the RG ν Gundams visuals looked quite familliar, however, it is not something that I really find to be needing an upgrade that soon.

Maybe on the lore, but on the rest? Not so much I feel.

So overall, the kit does look to be quite promising to me so far. Frankly, it does seem to me like this kit has some serious potential to kick the RG Sazabi’s ass off the best RG throne. I have to say the more I spend time looking at how awesome the parts looked here the more I’m getting myself excited to start work on this badass kit.

Hopefully, it would be as good or better than the RG Sazabi that built last year.

With that ends this week’s Unboxing and First Impressions for the RG 1/144 RX-93 ν Gundam (RG). What do you think of this week’s kit that I just unboxed? Do you yourselves have the same experience as I did with this RG kit?
