Vroom, vroom a the half-transformer is here
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 132nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be again taking a look at the Retail news. Because apparently, there is one news that we…sad to say, kind of missed. Which is why we are going back talking about it. A very interesting HG release, but one which is not a Gunpla release.
But it is one that we do find it to be quite an interesting HG kit to discuss, nevertheless.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
HG Souryuumaru (HG)

Release Date: 2020/02
Estimated price: JPY 2,250* (MYR RM 87.98* / USD $ 21.00* / EUR € 19.16*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

If the HG Industrial Gramps that we saw lately looked to be more like something revolutionary, this one, however, looks to be more like a conventional HG kit.
However, even with that said, one thing that is clear after we see this, that both this and the HG Industrial Gramps, has a look that is not really for everyone. But unlike the HG Industrial Gramps, we here actually quite dig the look of the HG Souryuumaru here.
From its HUGE BADASS HG crown, it’s a very impressive overall design to its badass color scheme, there is really alot to love here when we saw this kit. However, it is the HG Souryuumaru’s party piece which managed to seal the deal for us here. Because this kit can transform into a badass looking mecha motorbike.
<Insert the motorbike version – What a beaut>
But to be able to convert it into this you first do need to get the other half of this by getting the S.H.Figuarts Tamashii Girl Aoi. Yes, for the first time Bandai finally decided to release something that puts the two best selling Bandai products, the S.H.Figurearts lineup and the HG plamo line up related to one another.
We here think that combining the two best is a pretty good idea, since it may open up some possibilities. However, we do think they managed to botch this one up quite bad…
Because although it is an interesting concept, having a campaign to cross-promote the HG and the S.H.Figuarts together, it baffles me to no end on why they decided to not sell these two as a one singular release. Although I can understand their reasons for doing so (Because of the price), however in doing so does kills any interest one might have in getting either of those things.

Why? Well from my personal experience, not every store would be bringing this in and secondly, knowing Bandai they would have tons of these HG Souryunmarus laying around while there would be enough S.H.Figuarts Tamashii Girl Aoi to go together with the HG Souryuumaru’s
Really, they should’ve just released these two together as one singular release.
Regardless of our feelings of the matter, we do like the HG Souryuumaru overall. We think its a great looking transforming HG kit. The fact that none of the articulation was sacrificed to make sure the HG Souryuumaru is able to do so seamlessly is something that we are impressed by.

We are really looking to add this to our collection, and hopefully, we would be lucky enough to get the S.H.Figuarts Tamashii Girl Aoi as well.
But truth to be told, we don’t have much hope that we would be able to complete the collection.
With that concludes today’s 132nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of this retail release announcement? Are you looking forward to this one upcoming HG Retail kit release? Its really nice seeing Bandai really going all out with their HG releases. Which does make us feel quite excited to see what do they have in store for us for the other gunpla line up!
We do hope that we would aswell be looking at another awesome year for kit releases. I really hope we would be getting more badass RG kits for 2020 as well.
Regardless, it does seem to us that Bandai is really taking the HG line up to somewhere really interesting here and we do admit that we are starting to be quite taken by the path they are taking with this line-up.
It may be so that we would be seeing more interesting kits coming our way in the coming months.
Anyways, we will be back again with more gunpla news on the next coming Wednesday and as well on the next coming Friday! Kimi will be back again in this Monday with an Unboxing or a review of a kit. So do look forward to that!
