Eva as an RG release? Who would have thought?

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 141^st edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at some of the newest retail announcements that was recently made and from the looks of it does look like we have quite a few VERY interesting releases to talk about today.

This time around we as well get to finally see the RG line up expending into other anime franchises for the first time since its inception.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG Petitgguy Justigguy (HGPG)

Release Date: 2020/03

This is an interesting one.

Why is this an interesting one? Well, the reason being is that for the first time since this lineup inception we finally have an HG Petitgguy kit that actually does something different.

Different in the sense that this might be the first petitgguy kit that is based on an MS instead of a character. Which is something that we all here feel is a long time coming.

Because like the Haropla kits which are taking cues of releasing variants of itself based on the famous MS’s and seeing some of it becoming quite beloved amongst the gunpla builders new and old, kind of makes sense on why Bandai decided to take on this path for the HG Petitgguy line up.

Because we have a feeling that the strategy works so well for the Haropla line up that it made people (like us) more interested to get em. I think Bandai realized that because the Haropla line-up doesn’t overly rely on the gimmick of just being cute (like HG Petitggu does). Some of the Haropla kits make themselves to BE interesting and something that some of us wouldn’t MIND spending to get something which has a good balance of being cute and badass all at the same time.

This is why it nice for us to see the petitgguy finally doing the same thing here, and admittedly for a first kit in the lineup to do this, we do like their first real offering here.

From what we are seeing here with the HGPG Justigguy it looks to us here that Bandai did a really damn good job in making something that is cute looking badass. We really think that the retail side did a pretty damn good job in making some of the HG Knight Justice Gundam elements look good in petitgguy form and for once we really think that the retail side an HG Petitgguy kit that we wanted to own.

Even though we all here might not be a big fan of the HGPG lineup, but we might consider getting one because of this kit so we can see what’s up with this line-up and possibly as well eventually getting the HGPG Justigguy when it’s out next year.

We have a feeling that if this does well, we might see more HG Petitgguy like this soon enough.

HG 1/144 Gundam G-Else (HGBD: R)

Next on the list is an HG kit which we all here are admittedly quite impressed by. Because out of all the kits that we thought that the Build Divers would take as a base, the G-Self is probably not the one that we all here had in mind.

But even with that said, we do admit that this is really one variant of the HG G-Self that we wouldn’t mind getting. Because it is one of the best looking HG G-Self variants that we’ve seen to date. It really is one that we all here think is a work of art.

Although there aren’t many promotional pictures of this bad boy to go around, we can still was able to see that it retains many of the same traits that we’ve seen from the original variant…With some modifications made to some parts here and there.

The changes can be seen on the feet section, some elements of the G-self’s arms unit, its shoulder armor, and its head unit. Oh as well lest we forget, the biggest change is definitely its badass color scheme. Gone is the typical gundam style protagonist colors of the G-Self, in this version of the G-Self you get here very antagonistic colors of the G-Else.

Yes, we realized by saying that this all is just pure speculation.

However,

It’s hard not to feel so when the colors that we see here reeks of strong bad boy energy here and not to mention it does as well had the look as well. Even though we don’t really know how this kit would translate into real-life since most of the picture here is mostly in CG form, but we do admit that at the very least in terms of looks, it does look quite promising.

This is really the kind of badass MS that we are really hoping to see more of coming to this HGBD: R line up and hopefully we would see more good looking kits coming this way.

Oh, and yes, we are so going to be getting this one as soon as it out.

RG 1/144 Multipurpose Humanoid Decisive Weapon, Artificial Human Evangelion Unit-01 (RG) normal variant and with DX Transport Platform Set variant (RG)

Finally, we get to talk about the retail RG release announcement that got all of us here quite excited. In conjunction with the long-awaited upcoming release of the Final Evangelion movie in 2020, Bandai decided to do something that we here kind of hoped that they would do for the Evangelion franchise for the longest time.

Make an RG kit based on an Evangelion mecha… Best of all, they start this line up off with giving us the one EVA variant that we all here are quite familiar with, the one piloted by the Shinji Mikami, the EVA-01.

You might be wondering why we mentioned before that we have been expecting this to come in RG form for the longest time? Well…

The reason why we said that is something that we have waited a long time for this to happen, is because those that are familiar with the earlier versions of the RG kit know that the pre-completed inner frame system of the older RG kits suits the need for an Evangelion kit.

Hence how we all here danced to hear the Eva kits finally getting the RG treatment that it deserved. Although, ever since Bandai moved on from using the premade inner frame format for the newer RG kits, will we be seeing it making a comeback here with the RG Eva 01?

From what we are seeing here, it might be, but at the same time, it might not be. Yes, we realized that is a very weird way of putting it, but as we look at the promotional pictures closely we have a feeling that we might be seeing a different kind of inner frame system here.

Since this is our first RG Eva kit, it is quite hard for us to completely judge on how this kit is going to be, but at least from everything else that we are seeing here, we can say that this RG kit is definitely on another level altogether. The insane level of design and detail is something that we see here on the RG EVA-01 is really impressive.

Not to mention too the awesome gimmicks that this RG kit comes with. looking at how good recent RG releases is, we here have no doubt that this kit is going to be another excellent RG kit that would grace the halls of RG greats. Or if it turns out to be crap, well it could as well join in with the list of all the halls of crappy RG kits.

Oh, it as well comes with a version that had the Transport thing included with the set. Which we all here think is the version to go for if you are thinking of displaying your EVA-01 in an epic fashion.

We know we would, that’s why we think that is the version that we’ll get.

Will the HGUC Penelope be the only Hathaway Flash kit that we would see? Time will tell, but we do hope to hear more news on that.
