In today’s 154th edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be again be taking a look at P-Bandai to talk about a recently announced news that we kind of missed a few days back. It is an annoucement concerning an expansion part for one of the BIGGEST and the most EXPENSIVE Gundam based merchandise released.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
Metal Structure Kaitaishouki RX-93 ν Gundam Option Parts Fin Funnels

Estimated price: JPY 27,500* (MYR RM 1041.03* / USD $ 251.45* / EUR € 225.95*)

I’m sure that by now that some of you reading this might have been one of the lucky ones to have gotten the INSANE Metal Structure ν Gundam recently. Although we know that some of you here might be already wondering by now, when would Bandai would be making that announcement of the ν Gundam’s Fin Funnels to complete the release?
Well wonder no more, because now we FINALLY have confirmation from the P-Bandai side on the final release date of the Fin Funnels for the Metal Structure Kaitaishouki RX-93 ν Gundam. But we didn’t just get a confirmation date of the release, we as well get a much more up close and personal look at the Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam’s Fin Funnel’s final look and design.
From the looks of it, it really looks like that they as well managed to nail the look for the Fin Funnels as well here. They managed to nail the same level of insane detail that we have seen with the Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam. But what is more impressive to us is that besides the INSANE details, they as well managed to create something that actually works.
Which was something that we here admit, that we weren’t expecting P-Bandai to be able to pull off?
They as well went as far as to provide the Fin Funnels with a proper storage stand. Which was another thing that we really didn’t expect to see being included in? Because seeing how most ν Gundam already comes with a hook at its backpack unit to store the Fin Funnels we kind of wasn’t expecting to see Bandai including the stand for the funnels as
well.
But even with that said, we can definitely understand why they decided to include the stand-in for this Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam’s expansion parts. Because as owners of two variants of the ν Gundam kit (both the MG and the RG variants) we know that the Fin Funnels can make the whole thing be unstable. Not to mention too that we can as well imagine how the hinge holding the Fin Funnels at the back may eventually get worn out due to the strain caused by the weight stress and from the constant movement of the Fin Funnels.
So yes we do admit that it is quite a good idea to include a stand for this Metal Structure kit. Though, it is hard to not be as well impressed how it looks, because from what we can see here P-Bandai designed the Stand as such that the looks of the stand fit well with the platform base that comes with the Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam.
We are really slowly finding ourselves REALLY quite taken with what we are seeing here. It looks just too impressive to ignore and by the looks of it, it does as well look like a worthwhile investment.
However, the only thing that is stopping us from getting this, is the same reason why we here haven’t gotten the Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam yet; The Price. Because just like Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam, the Fin Funnels as well doesn’t come cheap. Because if you are interested in getting these, prepare yourselves. Because the Fin Funnels set will set you back around JPY 27,500* (MYR RM 1041.03* / USD $ 251.45* / EUR € 225.95*).
Yes, these are not cheap.
With the same amount of money that you spend on these, you can actually use that to get two proper PG kits. In which we can imagine would be something that most Gunpla Builders struggle with when it comes down to spending their hard-earned cash.
Regardless, we know that this release announcement wasn’t really tailored to us peasants. It is really tailored to those which are wealthy enough to that have already spent alot of money on the Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam. Because obviously if one can afford to get the Metal Structure RX-93 ν Gundam kit in the first place, then they wouldn’t have any monetary issues into getting the expansion for it as well.
Because if we are rich, we would be doing the same thing as well.
