The batch of reveals that is making us all here smile on the first day of 2020
HELLO! We are back and a happy 2020 to all of our fellow awesome readers here in the blog!
In today’s, 156th edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be again be doing the Rumor mill segment since none of the kits that we talked about have yet been announced, but yet there were more upcoming kits that was revealed to us all this week!
But since there is quite alot here for us to cover, we will break it down into a few small segments of kits that we here find to be quite interesting to have a discussion about. Today we would be talking about the few that was revealed that we only learned of their existence this week.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
The Rumor Mill: RG 1/144 ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam (RG)
Before this, we all here thought that the only thing that we would be getting from the SEED line up was the HG Windam, but apparently, Bandai does seem to have alot more in their sleeves to be released in the wild and frankly, looking at all of the announced kits, we are not surprised if we would be seeing more SEED/ SEED Destiny related kits coming this year.
But we are not going to be covering all the SEED kits that was announced this week we will talk about one that we all here were a huge fan of, the RG Impulse. This was really one of those RG kits that we have been waiting for a long time for Bandai to release. We thought after the release of the RG Destiny many years ago, that we may see the release of it done somewhere close to the RG Destiny’s release.
But apparently, they really take their time with this one.
Though seeing how good the RG lineup has been recently, we do think that it is a good thing that the Impulse gets the RG treatment now. We have a strong feeling that this is going to be one of the most detailed SEED Destiny kits and probably it is as well going to be one of the best looking ones too.
We are as well quite curious to see how the RG Impulse handles the transformation part too since it is one of the most essential parts of the kit. We do hope that the kit wouldn’t end up being a flimsy mess because of it. So we shall wait and see how it all would pen out in the coming months.
Word on the streets is that we will hopefully be seeing this kit released in April 2020 and the RG Impulse will be sold at JPY 3,300 (MYR 124.23* / USD $30.37 / EUR €27.06). Admittedly I do feel like the kit is priced at a slightly higher price point then to what we here were expecting it to be, however seeing how insanely good the recent releases have been we don’t really mind forking out our own hard-earned cash for this badass kit.
The Rumor Mill: P-Bandai RE100 1/100 ZMT-S12G Shokew (REBORN 100)
This is a kit that we really didn’t expect to see being released, however, we all here agreed that this is one kit that I feel is a long time coming. Plus seeing it now is something that we all here feel that its a good indication that we might be seeing, in the near future more modern kits based on the V Gundam franchise grunt designs.
And what better kit to start it off then this the Shokew. Because it is the V2’s opposite through the final stages of the conflict and to not have it released together with the V2 is a bit sad.
Looking at the revealed kit, it is quite clear to us that this is quite an interesting looking kit. However, since there isn’t alot that was revealed here, we can’t be sure of its capabilities or gimmicks. But seeing that this is getting the P-Bandai release, it may be an indication by Bandai that we might be seeing the RE100 Rig Shokew somewhere in the future?
That is an exciting thought indeed.
Although, we are quite surprised to see the price that they have planned to release the kit with. Why? Well, that is because they are planning to be selling this kit at JPY 4,180 (MYR 157.19* / USD $ 38.43 / EUR € 34.24) which is priced quite steep even compared to the others that was released before it…this is not considering the P-Bandai tax that would be associated to the kit as soon the kit hits the retail stores.
However, it does give us some idea on how much the RE100 Rig Shokew might be priced at if it ever gets to see the light of day.
The Rumor Mill: MG 1/100 GN-003 Gundam Kyrios (MG)
This was a kit that we all here knew that is coming. Why?
Well seeing how well the MG Dynames did, it kind of makes sense that we would eventually be seeing this kit be released as well. But we kind of expect to see Bandai milking the Dynames and its different variants before moving on to this. So we are pleasantly surprised to see that Bandai is focusing on completing the line up first before moving on to releasing another version.
So good job Bandai!
We admit that all of us here were really excited when we saw the prototype version of the kit, why wouldn’t we? Because even in its prototype looks, it still manages to look badass and frankly, we have a feeling that this is going to be a highly sought after MG kit just by looking at it.
Although we might not have complete equipment lit however we do have some information on the possible release date and price for this kit. It would be slotted for May 2020 release and will be priced at JPY 5,500 (MYR 206.83 / USD $ 50.56 / EUR EUR € 45.05). We do admit the price is of this MG Kyrios is looking to be quite reasonable and frankly, we are quite interested to see what do they have instore to us with this upcoming MG release.
