Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.158

Covering the P-Bandai side of the Gunpla reveals

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 158th edition of Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be finally finishing the round-up of all the Gunpla reveal this week with us finally getting to the P-Bandai side of the reveal. Yes, we finally get to cover the last 3 kits that was left from the reveal last few weeks ago, and all of these are P-Bandai kits and they are as well all from the HG line-up.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

The Rumor Mill: P-Bandai HG 1/144 MS-06D Zaku Desert Type

P-Bandai HG 1/144 MS-06D Zaku Desert Type

We know that eventually one day we would be seeing this Zaku variant released someday under the HG Origins MSD line-up, after seeing alot of the old MSV kits getting new lease of life as an Origins MSD line up. True enough, we finally have the Origins MSD version of the Zaku Desert Type revealed.

What’s more, we can see that they really do a really good job here too. Because even though all we have here going is this single picture of the HG Origins MSD Zaku Desert Type, but it is clear that it does look really good. As we all take a closer look at it, we as well can safely deduce that this HG Origins MSD Zaku Variant will have alot of things that those that have some experience building all the other HG Origins Zaku variants will be quite familiar with.

Even with that said, we do as well notice that the HG Origins MSD Zaku Desert type does as well have alot of things done here to make it a worthwhile purchase too as from what we all can see here.

However, eventhough we can clearly see here that this kit is kind of somewhat ready for mass consumption but we haven’t yet had any clue on its possible release date. But we do have word on its ‘before P-Bandai tax’ price. Word on the street is that P-Bandai is planning to set the price for this kit at JPY 2,420 (MYR 91.52* / USD $ 22.31 / EUR € 20.00) which is quite cheap…up until someone decides the slap the ‘P-Bandai tax’ on it of course.

Regardless, we are looking forward to seeing more of this P-Bandai HG Origins MSD kit soon. Just maybe we will learn more of the kit to maybe justify getting the kit at the insane P-Bandai tax?

Because man, it looks too good for us to miss this one badass HG kit up.

The Rumor Mill: P-Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 “G04”

P-Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 “G04”

This was something that we thought that we would never see be released as an HG release. However seeing how popular this particular Gramps variant is, we are not that surprised to see them finally make their way as an HG release.

However, we are quite surprised to see this getting a P-Bandai release instead of a retail release. We thought with its MG version seeing the light of day as a retail release, we thought that if they do have plans to release this it makes more sense that the retail side would be the one to pick up the tab. Plus it is not like this is some obscure kit that no one asked for, in fact, I’m sure that there is alot of us here that wouldn’t mind getting the HG version of this if it ever comes out.

This is really one of those kits that I really don’t understand why this gets a P-Bandai release.

Regardless of that fact, we are still glad to be seeing Bandai finally releasing this under the mainline HG release, because out of all the side story kits out there, this and the Unit 5 are ones that we always wanted to see being remade into the modern times and as well as an HG line up! Plus when one considers how good the Mainline HG’s are nowadays does raises our excitement for this HG kit and seeing this we as well know that it is as well quite possible that we shall as well hear of the possibility of seeing the HG “G05” variant soon as well.

So far there is no word on its release date, but just like the HG Origins MSD Zaku Desert Type, the only thing that we can confirm is the price in which P-Bandai is planning to sell this kit for. The “G04” is planned to be priced at JPY 2,475 (MYR 93.60* / USD $ 22.82 / EUR € 20.46) which is slightly more expensive compared to the HG Origins MSD Zaku Desert Type that we just talked about. But seeing how much “gunpla” that we might be getting with this kit, we do admit that it is quite a reasonable price still.

But that is before it gets the “tax”. We know for sure it won’t be sold at that price when it hits our shore.

The Rumor Mill: P-Bandai HG 1/144 OZX-GU01A Gundam Germinass (HGAC)

P-Bandai HG 1/144 OZX-GU01A Gundam Germinass (HGAC)

This is an interesting one.

Because out of all the kits that was revealed, this the only one out of all that hasn’t really have any confirmation on both its release date and its possible pricing. Even though from what we can see here, the HGAC Germinass 01 does look pretty much ready to be mass-produced. But the fact that Bandai is still keeping the release date and price of the kit a secret…does make quite us worried that there is still a strong possibility that we won’t see it released at all. Or that they might still be contemplating to either have this be release under the retail side?

Well, eventhough that is quite highly unlikely, but there is no harm in hoping for the best right?

Anyways, we do think it’s going to be a shame if they decided not to release this now because from what we are seeing here it does look like this is really a good looking HG kit. Looking at the level of detail that is present on the kit, does remind us alot of the HG Moon. With that in mind, we here frankly wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up being an awesome kit.

This is why we still hope that Bandai would change their minds and have this be released as a retail release.

With that concludes today’s 158th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of this week’s Let’s Talk Gunpla rumor mill sub-segment?
