We here were more excited for this HGUC than the upcoming HG Origins Gramps.

Ever since we’ve seen its reveal a few weeks back, this was one of those HGUC kits that we have been waiting patiently for any news or rumors of it to surface. Finally, after a not so long wait, we finally get the final confirmation of the release date.

We finally know that we will be getting this kit in this coming May, but the final release date isn’t the only thing that we learned of the kit. We as well was able to learn more of this badass looking HGUC kit as well and to be honest, after taking a closer look at this, we are all now getting quite excited to get this in the HGUC form.

The best part of this kit is that you can as well swap the armored look for this badass ‘regular’ look.

Why wouldn’t we be excited about it? It’s one of the best looking Gramps variants to have gotten the HGUC tag. Not to mention too that this is one of the Gramps variants that we have been waiting to be brought back into the modern times and from the looks of it P-Bandai really did a good job translating the G04 variant of the Gramps into the HGUC form.

Because it looked almost like its MG counterpart, from top to bottom and it retains all the same gimmicks as what we have seen with its MG counterpart too. This is quite impressive since it does look like we can just detach some of the parts up to easily convert the HGUC G04 Gramps into different versions of itself. Another thing characteristics that it shares with its MG counterpart, is the fact that the G04 gramps will be a standalone kit that doesn’t seem to have parts that was derived from any of the existing gunplas. Well except of course for the HGUC G04’s joints (and as well we suspect some elements of its ‘inner-frame’) which we suspect is reusing the same system that we see with the HGUC Revive Gramps, but for everything else here? Those are new.

Looking at this one really can’t help to make the comparison since we do remember that the MG version as well didn’t have anything that we could see which shares the same characteristics as its other counterparts. Which does make them quite unique, in a way.

Looking at this, one do start to wonder what would be the actual outcome of the war if Amuro instead decided to pilot one of these instead.

After taking the time to really see more of what this kit has to offer, we do admit that we do find ourselves more excited for this HGUC kit then compared to the upcoming HG Origins Gramps. Eventhough this gets that dreaded P-Bandai treatment, but this is that one P-Bandai HGUC kit that on will find hard to ignore…since it is a looker.

Although it is still up to debate if the asking price is worth the hype, I guess we shall have to wait till we have this in the Homebase to really be able to determine that.

We just hope that we will be lucky enough to snag one here.

We really do hope we could get this in 2020 since it does look like a badass HGUC kit.

With that concludes today’s 164th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of this awesome P-Bandai release announcement? Are you looking forward to this particular upcoming HGUC P-Bandai kit? Honestly, we are quite surprised to be hearing this news now. We really didn’t expect to be hearing and learning more about the G04 Gramps this week. We really were really thought that we would be getting news about the release date and the kit somewhere in Feb.

But regardless we are glad to be seeing this announcement now…although we can’t help to shake that feeling that we might be hearing about the G05 variant soon enough. If Bandai does have that version as well planned for release, I really hope we would be getting that as a regular retail release.

But we all here know that P-Bandai would probably be releasing that one too.

Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla segment this week on this coming Friday and the following week as well! Kimi will be back again this Monday with a new Unboxing or a Review or another WIP blog post. So do look forward to that!
