What better way to spend your valentines, with some Gunpla
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 169th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue to cover some of the smaller Gunpla releases that we…deliberately missed (we blame that on the very interesting P-Bandai news that we got last and this week). Before we started we thought that we might be able to cover all the smaller news this week so we could move on to talk about other things without worrying so much about missing the retail news.
But we were wrong because after taking a closer look, it seems like there are quite alot of VERY interesting smaller retail releases that we really wanted to talk about. So…after having a long discussion on what to do, we finally decided to again break the news in segment.
So for today, we will talk about the SD kit releases while next week we will finally cover the final bits next week…as long the retail side or the P-Bandai side holds off announcing new releases for next week of course.
So, without further ado, let us get into today’s Retail SD content, shall we?
SD EX Valkylander (SDBD: R)

Release Date: 2020/06
Estimated price: JPY 1,105* (MYR RM 41.67* / USD $ 10.06* / EUR € 9.28*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the circumstances
Last year’s SDBD: R Valkylander to us was one of the most interesting SD kits design that we have seen coming from the Gundam Build series. With the 2nd season on the horizon, we thought at first there is no way that they could top the insane SD of the 1st season here with the new one.
But it seems like, yes, they really didn’t manage to top the awesome design of the 1st season here because it looks like we are just getting the same Valkylander but with some news parts and a different color scheme.
Even though there isn’t alot of promotional pictures that was showcased here, looking at it we can safely assume that the EX Valkylander as well could perform the same transformation as well like the 1st season variant. However, the only thing that we are not sure of how it would look transformed.

But seeing how most of the original design was retained here, we had a strong feeling that it may look, roughly the same. Except of course that you will be seeing a gold/white/blue/red dragon instead of a red/gold/black/white one.
Even with that said, it is not to say everything here is the same. There are some changes that are seen on the (quite obvious) color scheme, the wing unit and the feet unit of the EX Valkylander’s.
Eventhough it is basically just another variant of the same thing but we do admit that we are quite interested in getting this one. Just because we are a fan of how the transformed version of the Valkylander looked. We still think its a VERY interesting concept for an SD kit, but we do hope that the design team of the anime and the Gunpla comes up with a much more interesting design instead of just re-releasing the same thing but with a different color scheme.
SD Gundam Cross Silhouette GGF-01 Pheonix Gundam (SDCS)

Release Date: 2020/06
Estimated price: JPY 1,190* (MYR RM 44.88* / USD $ 10.84* / EUR € 10.00*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the circumstances

It’s nice to see another SD Gundam G Generation MS design make it an SDCS release. After the release of the Sisquede last year, we thought that might be the last that we see the SD Gundam G Generation MS Design to make it as a gunpla release. But it it seems like that is not the case here.
Although admittedly we are not big fans of the G Generation games, however after seeing this and reading through some of the lore when we were doing some research on the MS design we do admit that we are starting to want to give the games a try now.
Funny on how that works. Anyways we would love to hear from you guys in the comment section, on which SD Generation games that we should give a try for newbies like us to try.
Anyways, let us talk more about this kit because from what we are seeing here the kit itself is a fairly interesting one.

Besides the obvious fact of the kit looking like nothing that we here have seen, one of the most striking things that we here find to be really interesting is the fact that this might be the very FIRST SDCS kit that is able to transform. Although we are not sure how this is possible, but we have a feeling that it may involve swapping parts around to make the transformation possible.
It as well seems like the SDCS Pheonix is as well getting the silhouette booster open hand part as standard. Which is something that we all here find to be quite a nice surprise. Because Bandai has been seen by many to be trying to milk the SDCS line up by releasing all the nice optional parts separately from all the main kit releases. Which we here find to be quite annoying.
It was made worse with the fact that it was quite hard to find matching colored parts
So seeing that Bandai is making an effort to include this in is something that we here appreciate, and hope that Bandai continues on this trend of including all the option parts into the main release so we don’t have to go out and go through this struggle of trying to play gacha with the option parts.

Overall we do find this to be an interesting SDCS kit, and we are really looking forward to seeing what more kits that are planned for release for this line up in the future. We do hope that we could see more interesting original designs coming to the line up soon.
With that concludes today’s 169th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of all of these awesome retail SD release announcements? Are you looking forward to these SD retail gunpla releases? After taking a look at Retails SD release offerings, we do admit that we are quite impressed with what the retail side has to offer here. Especially the SDCS line-up, it does look like to us here that each new release we could see the line up getting more and more impressive.
Admittedly we are getting quite excited to see what more interesting things that they might have to offer us in the near future and seeing the upward trajectory that they are going, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more awesome things coming for the SDCS lineup.
Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla segment next week on the same day, next Wednesday and Friday! Kimi as well will be back again this Monday with a new Unboxing or a Review or a WIP blog post. So do look forward to that!
