Work In Progress I: MG 1/100 ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos (MG)

An MG kit that looks set to be the new MG king.

The one thing that was on my mind when I started on this kit is how does one try to create something that is going to be better than the older MG greats. More specifically, most of the awesome OYW MG Ver.2.0 kit line-ups?

Strangely I have a strong feeling that after I’m completed some of the MG Barbatos’s parts here, that I may have an answer to that.

But I will refrain from giving you guys my early final thoughts here just yet because it is still quite early and there is still a possibility that things might change as I work on this MG kit. So yeah, in time I will let it all out as soon as I get to the review.

But for today I will be giving you guys bits and pieces of my thoughts of this late 2019 MG kit instead. So without further ado let us get into it, shall we?

I was quite impressed by how much fun I had with this section when I started, not to mention it was as well one of the most insanely detailed MG Inner frames that I have the pleasure of working on and laying my eyes on.

The time I spent on this Chest unit was made better when I completed all the armor bits for this MG kit and taken my own sweet time to work on placing all decals on this MG torso unit. It really has been quite a while since I’ve built anything that is this detailed and this awesome.

Even the MG Barbatos’s head unit was a joy to build and just like the chest unit, it looked freakking amazing. Though I had to take a bit time off from building to work on this post. But admittedly I’m already looking forward to be spending more time working on this amazing MG kit.

I’m sure to most of you here that from my early comments on this MG kit that it’s clear to see that even at this very early stage of this MG build that I’m having quite a splendid time with this MG kit and I have a very strong feeling that this will continue on as I move on to the other bits of this MG kit.

Quite honestly I would even go as far as to say that kit has a real shot to dethrone ALL the MG OYW Ver.2.0 kits off from my top MG spot if I continue to experience a good time here with this MG kit.

With that ends this week’s first Work in Progress post for the MG 1/100 ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos (MG). What do you think of my thoughts on the kit and how the MG kit looked so far? Did you experience the same things that I did? Or did you guys find out things that I didn’t on my run here? Though my progress for this MG kit has been quite… similar to my previous run with the MG Garma Zaku II last week. But it so far I feel that I’m moving a bit faster here when compared to the last few weeks. So there is a possibility that this might be done in less time compared to the time I’ve spent with the MG Garma’s Zaku II.

But regardless, I wouldn’t want to make that prediction yet, as I will never know what life will throw at me in this couple of weeks. Hopefully nothing major….hopefully.

Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla segment on this coming Wednesday and Friday! Kimi as well will be back again on the next Monday with a new Unboxing or a Review or another one of these WIP blog post. So do look forward to that!
