I was smiling non-stop while working on this

This might be the first time ever since I started this WIP segment that I’m expecting to be doing another one and to be honest, I like taking my time working on kits like this. Doing the kit reviews in this manner does make me really enjoy working on them and as well gives me the space I need to really properly formulate my thoughts on them as well.

But enough of that jibber-jabber, I know some of you are here to hear my thoughts on the MG Barbie at my current up to date progress. So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

This might be the first MG kit in a long while that I had a lot of fun working on the head unit. It had a very interesting inner frame design in terms of the construction part and in terms of the looks department. But best of all, they as well nailed the look even when you get all the armor bits installed. That is really a feat that I find to be quite amazing in itself.

But the fun didn’t just stop there, because I as well find that the MG Barbie’s arms unit is a joy to work on and as well to look at. The sheer detail that I could see here on the arm unit is just so mesmerizing and not to mention the section was as well a blast to work on. But the best bit? That I do not need to use any PC runners here in this construction at all.

If I love my time working on the MG Barbie’s arm inner frame, I find that I enjoyed putting on the armor bits even more here. It was quite nice to have all of on the arm unit but best of all the armor bit doesn’t get in a way much of the articulation of the arm unit. All in all, I do find that the top half bit has been really a blast to work on. However, I do find myself a bit annoyed with the head unit. Why? Well, that is because I do find it to be kinda loose here and that is the bit here that I just don’t get. I’m considering using the glue on the joint technique to make it stay in place if I find the issue to be a bit much for me to handle. But for now, I will keep it as is. Despite that particular annoyance, the MG Barbie was still a joy to work on so far and the articulation (besides the loose head unit) seems to be quite good overall.

I did have a lot of fun with this kit, and I do as well see myself to continue to have a good time here, especially when…

I started off working on the MG Barbie’s feet…these sexy beautiful looking feet. I do find that it was a fun section to work on and quite frankly it does make me feel quite excited to see how the leg unit’s inner frame would look and work here.

I’m having quite a good time working on these, and I really have a really good, positive feeling that I can see myself finishing this kit up by the end of the week. I’m so confident of my progress here that I have already worked a portion of the review (the history bit) to ensure that I don’t have much to do when the time for me to write the review comes, which I hope that it would be by the end of this week.

But then again I don’t want to be all too confident yet, because one can never predict what life would decide to throw me into in this couple of weeks. So we shall see how things go this week.

With that ends this week’s first Work in Progress post for the MG 1/100 ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos (MG). What do you think of my thoughts on the kit and how the MG kit looked so far? Did you experience the same things that I did? Or did you guys find out things that I didn’t on my run here? If I were to be quite frank here, out of all the modern MG’s that I’ve built, this might be the very first modern MG kit that made me feel like I’m building an MG OYW Ver.2.0 kits.

The same exciting feeling and that same sense of wonder of what I experience here was the feeling that I got while working on this MG kit. It does make me wonder if I would really end up with a new top MG by the end of this. Whatever the case may be, I do admit I’m excited to see what would end up experiencing towards the end of my time with this.
