No new Gunpla news for today? No problem, we have here some Robot Spirits news for you instead!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 179th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at some new P-Bandai announcements. Although we won’t be talking about some new P-Bandai Gunplas, instead, we will be talking about some of the upcoming P-Bandai’s Gundam Mecha Figurines.
So without further ado, lets us get into it, shall we?
Metal Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam (Shiranui Unit)

Release Date: 2020/07
Estimated price: JPY 18,700* (MYR RM 746.70* / USD $ 169.24* / EUR € 157.96*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The one thing that we all here are concerned with when we all saw this mecha figurine for the first time, is if one has to wear shades into the room that houses this every time you turn on the lights. Because we can imagine this to be…quite not pleasant for the eyes to see in long periods of time.
Even in its promotional pictures looked, quite….shiny… Although we do admit that unlike the other gold kits that we have seen…the gold on the Metal Robot Spirits Akatsuki doesn’t look as good as the ones we’ve seen on other gold Gunpla kits. Because unlike the gold color scheme that we see on the gunplas, over here the painting done here made the kit looked cheap. Which is a bit of a turn off if we were, to be frank.

However, we are in a bit of a dilemma as well, because, despite the fact that we are not fans of the paint job on this Metal Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Akatsuki, but we here cannot deny the fact that at the very least they got the look of the Akatsuki and everything else right.
Just like the picture below.

Yes even despite that unfortunate color scheme that we see used on the Metal Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Akatsuki, there is still alot to like here, from its war-winning looks to its badass articulation and the fact that it as well comes with some pretty badass effect parts for its funnels, as well with a badass stand that you can pose all of that on as well.
Which we would admit is a pretty sweet deal overall.

Although, if not for the high asking price for this, we wouldn’t mind getting this. The badass look and the amount of stuff you are getting here are enough to make anyone that sees this lust for it. It’s just too bad that the asking price is a bit too much for us all here to handle and not to mention it as well comes with that cheap gold color scheme on it as well.
Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> RGC-83 GM Cannon II Ver.A.N.I.M.E

Release Date: 2020/08
Estimated price: JPY 7,700* (MYR RM 307.46* / USD $ 69.69* / EUR € 65.04*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Aaaah, the GM Cannon II. We thought after the announcement of the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Powered GM, that there is no way that the retail side would let the GM Cannon II to be released under the P-Bandai banner. But we are wrong, because apparently since it looks like the honors of another Stardust Memory MS release for the Robot Spirits line up, again goes to the Premium side.
Regardless, we do admit that we are quite surprised to see how good and detailed this particular Robot Spirits mecha Figure looked. Because from the ones that we have seen and talked about none of them looked this detailed and it is not like they did alot here to make it look good. Because quite frankly all they did here is just add more detail on the cannon area and as well on its Cobham Armor. Though we here do like the fact that they decided to add more details to the Robot Spirits GM Cannon’s Cannon section, which does improve tremendously on this Robot Spirits Figure looks department.

We as well like the fact that they really tried to make the kit look as close to its anime counterpart as they can. Looking at it we can’t help to feel like they really went all out in making sure of that. Although we do admit that we honestly don’t remember the anime GM Cannon II looking this good. Ha-ha!
Not to mention too that it has a very impressive articulation. In which I do admit that from what I’m seeing here that it looked as if that the Robot Spirit version here had a much better articulation when compared to its HGUC counterpart. We like that this variant if the GM Cannon II is quite poseable, and when you combine with the badass effect parts it does make this look really awesome.
As you can already tell, we are quite fond of how this kit looked and quite frankly we are really looking forward to seeing the actual release for this Robot Spirits Figurine this coming August. We just hope we can find a store that carries it, because if we don’t? That would definitely suck.

With that concludes today’s 179th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of all of these P-Bandai’s Gundam Mecha Figurines release announcements? Are you looking forward to these P-Bandai’s Gundam Mecha Figurines releases? We do think that these two announcements are quite interesting, especially for the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> GM Cannon II. Which admittedly we would love to be getting it, however for at least one of the releases, it is a bit sad that our wallets wouldn’t allow us from getting one of it.
But at the very least we can most definitely get the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> GM Cannon II.
