Work in Progress II: RG 1/144 Gunpla EXPO ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam Heine Westenfluss Custom (RG)

A Heine that is almost done

The Orange suit that helped to keep me sane

The one thing that I realized while being cooped up at home with me having to juggle both work, kit building and blogging all at the same time, is that my day isn’t any different than how it was before the Malaysian government decided to enact the Movement Control Order. This is something that I find to be quite funny since I was expecting that my days during this time would be a calmer and a bit more laid back. Not to mention too that I was hoping that I would be able to catch up with some sleep as well, haha.

But alas it wasn’t so, because I still find myself doing alot of work during this time. However, even with that said, I would admit that I was somewhat glad that nothing much has changed. The fact that I was still doing all the same thing, albeit just in a much more comfortable and homey place, does help me to cope with my deteriorating mental state. Because I fear that the lack of actual human interaction that I am having now does start to drive me just a bit insane. Although I do have a pet bunny to talk to, admittedly talking to a temperamental female bunny can be a bit of a challenge sometimes and not to mention pointless since well she is a bunny, I don’t expect her to understand human language.

Sorry peanut, your cuteness isn’t enough to keep me sane

Anyway, I’m sure that you guys aren’t here to hear me yap about my ever-deteriorating mental state caused by this pandemic. So I will now segue myself to now talk about my thoughts on my current progress of this rare RG kit. So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Heine's waist unit
The week started off quite well for me as I work on the waist unit. Funnily enough, when I worked on this I do find the whole process to be as simple as I remembered it to be. But what makes this particular run a bit different, is that I’m taking the time to work on applying the decals while working on the individual sections of this kit by myself.
Beautiful and clean
I loved working on the RG Heine Destiny’s chest unit, because even though, yes, this might not be the first time I’ve worked on this. The fact that I still find it fun to work on this section does say alot about how well designed this kit is. Plus I love how good the RG Heine colors looked here, It’s just a bit of a shame that you can’t see some of the awesome decals that I placed on the chest unit, due to the color scheme overpowers the white-colored decals. This is something that we do find it to be quite funny that they didn’t think about giving this kit a decals set that would complement the orange color scheme of the RG Heine’s Destiny Gundam.
A Heine that is almost done
The process of putting the top half and the bottom half of the RG Heine Destiny Gundam together might not be something one ould find to be one the most exciting part of the whole build, but funnily enough, it is one of my favorite bits of this build. Why you may ask? Well, that is mostly due to the fact of how good the whole kit looked so far. Even though we are a fan of the Heine’s colors on the Destiny, but seeing it on this RG kit is a totally different experience altogether. Because man, this kit is really starting to look like a looker here.

Now all I need to do is find myself a stand so I could pose the kit together with the retail version when I get this one done by this week. Hopefully, no one decides to panic buy action bases during this time and deprive me of getting a nice stand for the nice Gunpla EXPO RG Heine’s Destiny Gundam.

With that ends this week’s second Work in Progress post for the RG 1/144 Gunpla Expo ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam Heine Westenfluss Custom (RG). What do you think of my thoughts on the kit and how the RG kit looked so far? Did you experience the same things that I did? Or did you guys find out things that I didn’t on my run here? I’m really finding myself quite excited to get to the finish line with this kit. Seeing how good the kit looked does make me look forward into seeing it complete.

Although at the same time if I were to be honest with you guys here, I’m as well afraid to complete it. Because I’m afraid of getting the ‘post kit building’ depression, especially when I’ve worked on two awesome kits in a row. Maybe it is time for me to dig through the backlogs and see what new exciting kit that I could sink my fingers into this time, haha.

Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla segment on this coming Wednesday and Friday! Kimi as well will be back again on the next Monday with a new Unboxing or a Review or another one of these WIP blog post. So do look forward to that!
