When one set of legs is not enough
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 184th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, today we will be taking a look at one very interesting P-Bandai Gunpla release announcement that was made this week. Which is an HGFC kit announcement that we here have been waiting to see more of ever since they announced and released the HGBD: R Eldora Brut.
You might be wondering what is the connection in between the two drastically different series here? Well, read on and you will understand why, haha.
So without further ado, let us now get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 Death Beast (HGFC)
Release Date: 2020/06
Estimated price: JPY 2,475* (MYR RM 98.66* / USD $ 22.75* / EUR € 20.88*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
This was one of those HG releases that we kind of expected to see it being released, eventually. Especially considering that Bandai has prepared the proper base for the HGFC Death Beast to happen, with the release of the HGBD: R’s Eldora Brut.
However, we here kind of hoped that the retail side would be the ones to pick up the responsibility of releasing this, instead of P-Bandai. We actually are not a fan of seeing this kit is locked behind a huge paywall and it seeing a much more limited release compared to its regular release kit. But despite our feelings about it, we are quite glad to finally see it being released.
Why wouldn’t we be?
It looks good, right?
Though we do admit after a closer examination of the HGFC Death Army’s P-Bandai promotional pictures, we know that it may have all the same parts that you get from the HGBD: R Eldora Brut, and yes, when one start to compare the looks in between the two variants, we do admit that the HGBD: R Eldora Brut looked even BETTER when compared to the plain-looking HGFC Death Army.
But even with that said, we actually prefer the much simpler look of the HGFC’s Death Beast more than the HGBD: R’s Eldora Brut. The HGFC’s Death Beast Design is much more straight forward with less extravagant appearance, which is something that we here appreciate. Not to mention they as well did well with the color scheme, since we here are not fans of the final release color scheme on the HGBD: R Eldora Brut.
Interestingly enough there is one thing which both kits share which we here do find to be quite fascinating, the legs. The reason why we here find the legs to be interesting is that we here do find that having a kit with two sets of legs will be a bit tougher to pose when compared to kits with a much more traditional one set of legs configuration.
This is without a doubt to us all here that this is a pretty interesting HGFC kit. It is the one HGFC kit that we might consider getting if it is brought in by our local Gunpla stores. Admittedly after spending some time staring at this, we do start to wonder if we would be seeing more badass looking HGFC kits coming soon? Because we here would love to get a Neo-Malaysia skull gundam if they are planning to continue churning out HGFC kits.
With that concludes today’s 184th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of this P-Bandai Gunpla release announcement? Are you looking forward to this one particular P-Bandai Gunpla release? This P-Bandai HGFC Death Army kit is something that we here find to be unsurprising, but it is something that we here find to be one of the quite an interesting release.
One that we are really looking forward to seeing what the actual kit has to offer.
