Finally, the retail side is back, stronger than ever!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 188th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will now be talking about all the new wonderful new kit releases that are coming from the retail side! FINALLY, after being quiet for so long, we now have some new news from the retail side of new gunpla releases!
As ever since the retail side does have a HUGE kit announcement this week, we shall take things slowly and cover them all in 2 segments.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 NRX-055 Bound Doc (HGUC)

Release Date: 2020/09
Estimated price: JPY 4,250* (MYR RM 172.33* / USD $ 39.52* / EUR € 36.65*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Weird, but awesome…
These was the two words that came to our minds when we saw this for the first time. Out of the great many MS that the UC timeline has, that we here wished to see as a Gunpla release. This wasn’t really the one that immediately came to mind. So yes, you can say that we were thoroughly surprised to see this.
However,
Even with that said, we are actually quite happy to finally see this MS getting the proper retail gunpla treatment that it deserves. Instead of being relegated to the premium side.
Anyways, back to talking about the kit!

Admittedly, we here do find the design of the HGUC Bound Doc is without a doubt one of the most interesting, and the most unconventional Gunpla designs that we here have seen in a long time. From the way the HGUC Bound Doc’s body is designed, all the away to its MA form, there is really a lot here to love about the kit.
It’s just that this is the kind of HGUC kit that we here feel that would only pull in fans of the series, not for those outside of the fandom due to its looks.
Yes, to those that are a fan of the series might not mind it as much as we already know how badass the Bound Doc is in battle. However, to those unfamiliar to it, the HGUC Bound Doc isn’t something that you here would call good looking, so it might be hard for some to appreciate its more…’ artsy’ look.

But it is something that we here do find to be one very exciting Gunpla release. This is why the HGUC Bound Doc is one of the kits that we really look forward to getting in this coming September.
HG 1/144 ASW-G-35 Gundam Hajiraboshi (HGIBO)

Release Date: 2020/08
Estimated price: JPY 1,275* (MYR RM 51.70* / USD $ 11.86* / EUR € 11.00*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This is an announcement that is both expected and at the same time quite surprising. Yes, we are quite aware of how conflicting those two things are, but we do have a good reason for that.
Lets first talk about why we here already expected it to come. The reason for that is actually pretty simple, that is because of the HGIBO Gundam Marchosias. You might be wondering why does that relates to each other? Well, that is because they are both technically the same MS. The Marchosias is the Calamity War version while the Hajiraboshi is the current ‘in-game’ version of it.
This is why we are quite surprised to see this getting the retail treatment because, after the release of the HGIBO Marchosias we all here were sure that the HGIBO Hajiraboshi would most definitely be getting the P-Bandai treatment. This is one of those days that we are really glad to be proven wrong.

So, what do we all here think of the HGIBO Hajiraboshi after taking a closer look at it? Well since what we are seeing here is mostly just the CG rendition of the upcoming kit, we can’t really comment much on it now, but we can say that it does look pretty badass.
However, unlike the HGIBO Marchosias, the HGIBO Hajiraboshi looks a bit more, tame and simple, a far cry from the insane, badass look of the Marchosias. But even with that said, we do like how the Hajiraboshi looked. Because even despite the lack of extra arms and melee weapons, the designers of the Hajiraboshi still managed to make it look like a badass.

If we could put it in a way to compare the looks of the two is this, the HGIBO Marchosias looked like the buff jock that hits everything that it sees, whilst the HGIBO Hajiraboshi looked like the nerdy kid that sits quietly in the library reading books but could kick everyone’s ass if he wanted to kind of way.
Which is why we here are quite taken by its looks and really looking forward to getting one.
Figure-Rise Standard Build Fighters TRY: Fumina Hoshino

Release Date: 2020/09
Estimated price: JPY 2,040* (MYR RM 82.72* / USD $ 18.97* / EUR € 17.59*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

FINALLY, AFTER A LONG WAIT, WE FINALLY HAVE OUR BEST GIRL BEING MADE INTO A FIGURE-RISE KIT!
Out of all the new release news coming from Bandai that we’ve seen this week, this might be the only one that we all here are quite excited for. Especially when we all finally get to see how awesome it looked!

Its really hard for us to not be excited about it, especially considering that they are using the ‘standard tournament Fumina’ look for this release. Which is good since we are more a fan of that look more than the ‘Final Stage’ look that we got with the LABO.
But interestingly enough they didn’t just give us just one version of that look. Oh no, no, because they as well gave us the option to swap looks, one with the yellow hoodie and one without. Both options look great, but interestingly enough we actually prefer the more ‘modest-ish’ look with the yellow hoodie. Why? Well, it because the Yellow hoodie helps to hide the hideous seam line that we see on Figure-Rise Fumina’s ‘bare’ body.

The gap in between the joints as well looked better too, which is something that we are quite happy to see because it does seem to look like they are taking cues from kotobukiya kits on this front, although we are unsure if the changes that we see here might affect the overall articulation of the kit. That is something that we here will be looking forward to seeing what it can do for ourselves as soon as we have this at the Homebase.
This kit definitely goes to the top of our want list and we here do look forward to the day that we have this so we can have it posed together with all the other Fuminas that we have in our secret Fumina collection.
One that may or may not exist.

With that concludes today’s 188th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of all of these awesome Retail Gunpla release announcements? Are you looking forward to all of these awesome Retail Gunpla releases? It is really nice to finally see the retail side back with a really strong list of new gunpla announcement this time around. It is as well has been quite a while since we all here felt excitement for the thought of getting a new Fumina kit.
Yes, the rest is a very interesting announcement but in our eyes the Figure-Rise Fumina is the one all of us here look forward to getting this September. Just because she is the best girl.
Anyways, we will be back again with more new gunpla related posts next week, starting on Monday! So do look forward to that!
