Now it is time, to talk about the recently announced smaller retail releases.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 190th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will continue to be taking a look at some of the other retail releases that was made recently. But this time, we would be covering all the smaller Retail releases.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
SD Gundam Cross Silhouette Silhouette Booster 2 [White] (SDCS)

Release Date: 2020/09
Estimated price: JPY 510* (MYR RM 20.51* / USD $ 4.77* / EUR € 4.34*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

The very first thing that came to our minds when we all here saw this being listed in the retail SD listing is, “Wow, an upgrade part for SDCS Zeta? Why isn’t this released sooner?”. Yes, you guys can already tell from reading the sentence above that we are quite surprised that we are only seeing this upgrade package now, considering that it has been quite a while since the SDCS Zeta Gundam was released.
Regardless, we do feel like this is going to come as a piece of really good news to those that have been waiting to get some additional parts to help convert some of the existing owners of the SDCS Zeta kit into its iconic wave rider form.

Although if you are thinking of doing so, be prepared to be spending time working on painting the parts up, because they not going to be in the same color category as your SDCS Zeta kit. But since it is going to be released in white, I don’t think that would be such a tall order.
They as well included together new peg parts for the SDCS Zeta Gundam’s waist unit (we don’t think its made for only the SDCS Zeta actually). that would be able to expend the pose-ability of the SDCS Zeta’s leg.

However the Zeta conversion and upgrade parts aren’t the only things included here, Because they as well included in the Zaku I conversion parts for the SDCS Zaku II in the set as well. Although admittedly we here think that it would be even better if they were to just make a whole new kit instead of converting the SDCS Zaku II frame. Why? Well, that is because there are many design elements seen on the Zaku I which is quite different when compared to the normal Zaku II.
Plus it looks really odd seeing the Zaku one, in its Zaku, I color sporting a Zaku II legs.

Regardless of the unfortunate nature of the Zaku I conversion parts for the SDCS Zaku II that was included in this, we still do think that this is a must get parts set. But only to those that have owned or those that are planning to get the SDCS Zeta kit. Unfortunately, we don’t think the parts included here is a good fit to those that owned the SDCS Zaku II kit
HG 1/144 Tertium Arms (HGBD: R)

Release Date: 2020/09
Estimated price: JPY 637* (MYR RM 25.62* / USD $ 5.96* / EUR € 5.42*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
This is a weapon set that we here find to be quite interesting, and the reason for that is it was a weapon set that was made for a kit that we thought comes with a badass set of weapons.
As we spend time staring at this, we cannot shake the feeling that the only reason that we are seeing this new weapon set for the Tertium Gundam is that they needed to make the Tertium look even more of a badass in the second season.
And to be honest? I think they really nailed it once again because this new weapon set managed to make an already badass looking HGBD: R Tertium Gundam, look even more of a badass this time around with this upgrade. We love how the new weapons and additions looked on the HGBD: R Tertium here.

Although admittedly, we cannot help to feel like it gets alot of its inspiration from the design of the Super Gundam’s attachment here. This is clearly seen from the way, the backpack was designed, all the way to its weapons and its color scheme. It is hard to not look at this and not scream ‘Super Gundam’ when one sees the kit.
What’s more, we liked the fact that it as well designed to work with one of the Seltsam weapons attachment. Which when you combine the two, beam rifles parts together you would be able to make the beam rifle look like the Hyper Mega Launcher. It is safe to say that whoever designed this particular ms, must be a huge fan of the Gundam Zeta series. well to be more precise, they were a HUGE fan of the Super Gundam.

This is something that we are really looking forward to owning and combined it with our own HGBD: R Tertium Gundam. Not to mention, it is as well something that we feel is an essential upgrade to get, if you do own an HGBD: R Tertium Gundam.
HG 1/144 Aunrize Armor (HGBD: R)

Release Date: 2020/08
Estimated price: JPY 722* (MYR RM 29.02* / USD $ 6.75* / EUR € 6.15*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Ever since the start of this particular anime series, we have seen alot of really insane armor sets made for the Core Gundam. We have as well seen the evolution of it too from the ‘unfinished’ look of the Earthtree Gundam all the way to our recent favorite the Animarize Gundam armor design.
However, eventhough the Core Gundam armor sets do look quite cool but they all have one thing in common, the fact that they all look too over the top.
But that all is about to change because now we are seeing one armor set for the Core Gundam that has a really modest look, the HGBD: R Aunrize Armor.

But to say its modest, might not be that accurate. Because we as well feel like that it as well looked quite weird. You can see it from its black tube-like limbs, and not to mention it as well had this 1950’s Sci-Fi Horror films inspired design look to it.
Don’t get us wrong, we are not saying that in a bad way. Because the fact of the matter is, we do like the way this armor set was designed. It is a look that we feel is quite refreshing to see and not to mention when you attach it to the Core Gundam, it does look strangely good looking on it. The thing that makes us feel quite impressed by it is that they managed it by not making it look simple and modest, with no complicated sharp edges, just a simple no-nonsense look.
We love the looks of the HGBD: R Anurize Armor so much that we find ourselves slowly becoming a HUGE fan of it.

But the thing that we here find the most impressive is that even if you are planning to display just the armor itself, you would find it to be able to hold itself well-posed side by side with the actual kit itself. Although truth to be told, the same can be said for the rest of the Core Gundam Armor bits. Hmm, I guess the Aunrize Armor as well share the same characteristics of the old here, by looking as good displayed as it is mounted on the said kit.
Although do remember to keep the manual around for this one, because unlike the rest we can imagine this might be a bit too easy to forget what this is for if you were to leave it detached from the Core Gundam for too long. Haha.

And yes, we are quite interested in the idea of getting this, even though we haven’t gotten any of the Core Gundam Variants, regardless if its the new version or even the old version. Maybe it is now the right time that we change that eh?
With that concludes today’s 190th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of all of these Retail Gunpla release announcements? Are you looking forward to all of these Retail Gunpla releases? We are glad that we finally managed to cover ALL of the new upcoming Gunpla releases from the main lineups to all supporting lineups. Although we do wonder should we cover the other non-Gundam plamos that was announced too?
Because we just recently learned that Bandai just announced the Tanjiro Kamado kit recently, and what makes us really interested in it is because it looked quite…badass. Well from the tease that we all saw from it anyway, haha. We think that it would be interesting for us to be able to take the time to talk about it. But we are quite curious to know do you guys think about that? Are you interested in the idea of us exploring other plamo kits or should we just stick to just gunpla? Do let us know your thoughts in the comment section below! 😀
Anyways, we will be back again with more new gunpla related posts next week, starting on Monday! So do look forward to that!
