Time to finally address the elephant in the room.
Hello! We are finally back again!
In today’s 191st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to talk about one no so recent reveal that was made by Bandai. One we here feel is one of the most interesting reveals made by the Retail side, a reveal made for the PG line up.
Yes, as you may already have guessed, the Let’s Talk Gunpla subsection, the Rumor mill is back! So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
The Rumor Mill: PG 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0 (PG)

Release Date: TBA
Estimated price: Unknown
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Back in February, we were treated by Bandai with some a reveal made especially for the Gundam 40th anniversary. Yes, we are aware of how late it is to be discussing it now, but since there is still no new news about this kit, we figured why don’t we talk about it here.
Obviously, there isn’t much to talk about our thoughts on how the looks of the PG Gramps Ver.2.0 since there aren’t any promotional materials that was included here. However, Bandai did give us some clues to how this kit would be upon release.
With this.

Yes, this is yet again to be another Gunpla Evolution project, and from what we can gather from the press release it seems like this PG Gramps Ver.2.0 would incorporate all the best bits from all the kits that they developed throughout the years and applying it here. Which we here find to be quite an interesting thing to learn of, but at the same time we feel a bit strange that this would be the one that they chose to be their magnum opus without doing anything to improve the MG lineup,
Yes, we are thankful to the Gunpla Evolution chaps for making those improvements to the HG, RG, and PG line up, but we are still quite salty that they still giving the MG lineup a pass. Why wouldn’t we be? Seeing how much improvements that they made in each of the respective lineups that they have a hand in developing, one definitely wants to see what they could do to further improve the MG line up.
Maybe someday we would finally see them do the MG lineups justice, but for the time being, we just have to be patient and wait till the day comes.
Anyways, back to the PG Gramps Ver.2.0.
We do find it to be quite interesting that they are going to use all they’ve learned with their previous projects and applying it here. It doesn’t just make the prospect of getting this kit to be a quite interesting endeavor for us, we as well think that this is going to be one interesting kit in general. Because every time the Gunpla Evolution guys had a hand in creating any kit, the said kit would always end up becoming one of the most interesting releases that we here have seen.
So we wouldn’t be surprised if this actually becomes a very interesting release.
Although we have a feeling that we are going to see very aggressive and insanely detailed PG Grandpa design here, Why do we make the assumption? Well, it’s because of this…

Even though we know that the final look might look a whole lot different than this, but we do admit that is one PG Granpa that we would love to see being made. Plus if the head unit’s concept art looked this good, we imagine the rest as well would look as bonkers as this. That is if they do end up making this version of course.
But we have a feeling that this release would take a long time, because eventhough we are sure they are working on a prototype by now, and at first we kind of estimate the announcement would be made somewhere around June/July while we here estimate that this PG Gramps Ver.2.0 will be getting that late 2020 release date….but seeing how the Bad the Virus is hitting Japan now, we have a strong feeling that we might see the announcement and release of this PG Gramps Ver.2.0 being pushed back to next year.
We do hope that isn’t the case because it would definitely suck to see it being delayed for that long. But then again it would give us the time we need to work on saving up to get the PG Gramps Ver.2.0…so having it delayed might not be all that bad.
As long as they don’t suddenly decide to cancel the release that is.
With that concludes today’s 191st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of all of this particular story? Are you looking forward to this particular PG release? It’s really nice to finally be able to cover this particular story now and give you guys our thoughts on it. Even if it is another Granpa kit, but at the very least this time we feel like we are going to be looking at one of the most interesting 2020 releases yet.
Well, that is if they are still planning for a 2020 release…if not, well this is going to be a very interesting 2021 release then. Haha.
Anyways, we will be back again with more new gunpla related posts next week, starting on Monday! So do look forward to that!
