Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.203

Interesting but expensive bunch of news from the P-Bandai side

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 203rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look again at the P-Bandai Japan side, but we will not be talking about some new gunpla releases. Instead, we will be talking about some very interesting P-Bandai mecha figure releases that was made recently that we here find quite interesting.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Metal Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> 00 XNRiser + Seven Sword +GN Sword II Blaster Set

Release Date: October 2020
Estimated price: JPY 22,000 (MYR RM 878.46* / USD $ 205.85* / EUR € 183.74*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Have you ever thought that while you were sitting down by yourself that the Metal Robot 00 Mecha Figure that you have in your collection may not be overkill enough for you?

Well if you ever thought of that, worry not because P-Bandai finally has something that may suit your overkill need, fam. With the announcement of this:

The Metal Robot 00 XNRiser + Seven Sword + GN Sword II Blaster set, a.k.a the Ultimate version of the 00 Gundam.

Yes, P-Bandai finally did it, they finally release this insane 00 monster of equipment.

We thought that this might not happen because by just the amount of types of equipment that this particular version has and not to mention that the asking price for this might be a bit too much to some to be able to get

But then again this is P-Bandai that we are talking about here. Plus when you consider that most of these already have seen release before, releasing a more complete version might not be something that they have alot of trouble in doing tbh.

So to those that have almost all the versions might be wondering, so what’s the point of having this version then? Well, there is one good reason to do so.

That would be the decals, this might be the first time that we get to see a Metal Robot 00 Gundam variant that comes with a much more elaborate decal that kind of reminds us of its Gunpla variants. These awesome decals do help to make the kit look more badass, even though the base design of the Metal Robot Figure still is the same as all the other previous releases.

Admittedly, this might be one of the most impressive versions of the Metal Robot 00 Gundam variants that we’ve seen coming from the P-Bandai side and if we have the funds to do so, we could imagine getting this version. Unfortunately enough, we are don’t have the funds to so…so most likely we might be giving this version as well… a pass.

Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> RGM-79C GM Type C Space Operation Version Ver.A.N.I.M.E

Release Date: November 2020
Estimated price: JPY 7,150 (MYR RM 285.50* / USD $ 66.90* / EUR € 59.71*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

When we saw this particular announcement was made, we do admit that we were quite disappointed with what we see here.

Why wouldn’t we be? Because when we heard rumors about it a few months ago we thought that we would see this P-Bandai version to come with more stuff to make us justify getting this version.

However, it doesn’t seem to be the case here since from what we are seeing, it does look like this P-Bandai version of the Robot Spirits GM Type C variant comes with anything significant equipment-wise or even in terms of weaponry-wise for us to justify getting this.

It’s a shame because we were looking forward to seeing them release this variant together with the awesome long rifle, the same one that we see with the MG version.

But even with that said, it is not to say that this kit doesn’t come with anything particularly new here, because the effect parts that are included here are a bit different than the retail version. Yes, it still has the same beam effects from the retail version, but the vernier effects that comes with this release is made specifically for this P-Bandai variant.

Which does look cool when you combine both the P-Bandai Robot Spirits Figure GM Type C’s articulation with its P-Bandai vernier effects.

But even with that, it wasn’t enough to make us want to get it. Because we don’t see much point of spending alot of money to be getting something that is more or less the same thing.

But if you are a fan of the GM Type C and wanted it in the more familiar GM colors, well, this is the Robot Spirits GM for you.

But unfortunately enough for us, this is not the GM for us.

With that concludes today’s 203rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of these P-Bandai Mecha Figure release announcements? Are you looking forward to these P-Bandai Mecha Figure releases? We are unfortunately not as excited by what we are seeing here, even though the announcements here are quite interesting.

It’s just that it is quite unfortunate that one of the announcements is just too expensive for us to get and another….is just the same version as the retail version with nothing new to make it worthwhile to get.

Anyways, we will be back again with more new gunpla related posts next week, starting on Monday! So do look forward to that!
