Not the kind of Gundarium that we have in mind.

HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 213th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to write about one of the most expensive gunpla kits that we here have ever seen made. However, unlike the other overly expensive kits that we’ve seen and talked about here in the blog, there is something about it that manages to piss us all off.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Gundarindum Alloy Model 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam

Utterly insane.

That was the first thought that we all here had in mind when we saw this announcement. Why wouldn’t we be having that thought when we saw this? It’s one of the most expensive 1/144 scaled Gunplas that we’ve seen to date. Even though the price of it might be something that we here do find to be quite impressive, however, upon closer inspection, It doesn’t look like its a kit that is worth RM 8K.

There is a good reason for it, but first, let us talk about you get here. 

First of all, this is a ‘mostly’ Titanium Alloy based static 1/144 scaled grandpa gunpla kit, and no, contrary to its promotional material, it’s not a kit made from magic Titanium Alloy from the moon. Heck, if it was, we all probably have them huge space colonies in space by now as well.

By now we are sure that you can already tell from the tone of how we opened up this segment, that we are quite disappointed by this kit’s announcement. Quite Frankly, we are sure we here are not the only ones that feel this way, especially after seeing the Gundarium Grandpa’s promotional pictures. 

Why? Well, because for an RM 8k kit, we are sure that you aren’t paying that much money for something that looks embarrassingly bad as this. Heck, for that amount of money that you are paying off for this monstrosity, you might as well invest in any Metal Build figurine or the Metal Structure Nu Gundam.

Granted, we here do think that this is quite a fascinating little gunpla kit. Not to mention it is as well quite a good looking kit if you ignore all the ugly nub marks. But again, it is something that we all here can’t justify getting considering there are other, better options out there, even to hardcore collectors.

This concludes the 213th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today! Before we close it would quite interesting to hear about your thoughts on this particular P-Bandai release announcement. Are you as well look forward to this particular P-Bandai release? To be honest, though, this is by far one of the most disappointing things that we’ve seen coming from P-Bandai this year. We were expecting P-Bandai to announce exciting kits but never did we imagine that they would be releasing something as bad as this.
