Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.235

Our Favorite MS designs getting that Robot Spirits Ver.A.N.I.M.E treatment!

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 235th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at two very recent P-Bandai Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E release announcements. What makes this announcement to be a somewhat fascinating one is that two of these Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> figures come from the same anime series.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> MS-06F-2 Zaku II F2 EFSF Version Ver.A.N.I.M.E

Release Date: March 2021
Estimated price: JPY 7,150 (MYR RM 281.36* / USD $ 67.69* / EUR € 57.87*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This version of the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Zaku II F2 we already have expected to see being released as a P-Bandai one. Ever since we saw the Retail’s Zeon version of the same kit listed, we knew that we would eventually see its EFSF counterpart released as a P-Bandai one.

Regardless, we would admit that this is the version that most of us here are looking forward to getting since we’re more fond of that Light brown color scheme over the standard Green color scheme of the retail Zeon variant.

Not to mention the P-Bandai version as well comes with a pretty sweet looking EFSF Decals too. The decals design for this version does look pretty badass on the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> EFSF Zaku II F2 Ver.A.N.I.M.E, but the downside is that it does look like you would only be getting two decals designs with this Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E figure. It’s a shame because we do think that if they were to include custom decals with this Robot Spirit <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E release, it would most definitely make more fans of this MS flock into preordering this Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E figure.

However, if you’re expecting Bandai to add in more extra stuff in here, well be prepared to be disappointed. Because besides the color change and the EFSF Decals, there isn’t anything new added here. So that means, whatever that the Retail version of this Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Zaku II F2 gets, this version gets the same things as well.

We do admit that we were a bit disappointed with the lack of new things added here, but at the same time, we somewhat have expected this to happen. Because quite frankly, it is not like past P-Bandai releases based on existing Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E figure has made us think otherwise.

But regardless, we are still looking forward to the possibility of getting this one as soon as it’s out next year. Hopefully, we could find a retailer in Malaysia that carries this P-Bandai Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E because we do want to able to at least see how it would look like in real life before committing all of our money on this.

Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> MS-14F Gelgoog Marine Cima Garahau Custom Model Ver.A.N.I.M.E

Release Date: February 2021
Estimated price: JPY 8,250 (MYR RM 324.65* / USD $ 78.11* / EUR € 66.77*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Eventhough we are quite impressed with the P-Bandai’s Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Zaku II F2 EFSF Ver.A.N.I.M.E, but the one that gets all of our attention was this, the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Cima Garahau’s Custom Gelgoog Marine Ver.A.N.I.M.E.

Because from what we can see here, this isn’t some reskinned Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E Figure from an existing base. Well, it may share the same joint system from all the other previous Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Gelgoog Ver.A.N.I.M.E variant releases, yes. But the look of this Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E Figure is what sets it apart from all the other Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Gelgoog Ver.A.N.I.M.E variants.

Because after we spend some time staring at the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Cima’s Gelgoog Marine Ver.A.N.I.M.E, we have to say that the design team behind the creation of this Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Mecha Figure did a damn good job here. Because quite frankly, this is probably one of the better looking late Gelgoog variants that we have seen to date. We would even go as far as to say that this looked better than its HGUC counterpart, and we are fans of that HGUC kit too.

The aggressive look of this version over the HGUC kit that we owned, is what made us fall in love with it. Plus, it was as well a joy to see its custom Beam Rifle in all of its correct color scheme goodness here with this version.

Honestly, this is the one that we are the most excited to get come next year. We love how badass it looked over its HGUC counterpart, and we hope that someday that we would be able to possibly get this version of the Gelgoog as an MG or RG kit eventually.

Anyways, that concludes our 235th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. A pretty fascinating line up of Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Mecha Figures this time around. We here do find it quite interesting that they are focusing all of their efforts on releasing all of the Stardust Memory MS designs for this round of releases.

It does make us wonder if we would eventually see the GP02, GP03, and the Neue Ziel getting the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Ver.A.N.I.M.E treatment.
