Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.236

Some pretty fascinating P-Bandai HGUC release announcements this.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 236th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be talking about some very recent P-Bandai HGUC AoZ release announcements. Yes, you heard us right, P-Bandai made some new HGUC AoZ release announcements, which means we are going to be seeing some badass looking HGUC kits.

So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 Cruiser Mode Booster Expansion set (Both colors) (HGUC)

Release Date: February 2021
Estimated price: JPY 1,650 (MYR RM 64.87* / USD $ 15.63* / EUR € 13.33*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

We start by talking about the cheapest one of the lot, the HG Cruiser Mode Booster expansion set. Well, to be more precise, we would be talking about these two versions of the same release in this segment.

Because even despite the fact from what we see here that these two might be just the same thing, but quite obviously made in a different color scheme. However, if we were to take a closer look at it, that isn’t the case here. There are ‘some’ differences that we noticed in between the two releases. The one most obvious difference is when we take a closer look at what these two versions of the expansion set come with inside the box.

Because for the [Combat Deployment Colors] version, you do get an extra part included in the set, with one huge stand, and with two smaller ones. While with the standard colors version of the same thing, you only get the Cruiser Mode booster and two huge display stands for you to use to display your kit with the booster installed. Looking at these two, we do wonder why the content is not the same as the other.

But regardless of that fact, so what we think of this impressive-looking booster expansion set?

Well, regardless of what variant of the TR series that you may want to install this on, we honestly feel like this particular addition will make any TR kit that you have look BADASS.

But we are a bit concerned that it may be a bit too much if you are planning to pose-ing the kit with the booster on a single Action Base because we have a feeling that the weight of the Cruiser Mode Booster may overstress the joints up. Which is why we feel it is best to get two Action Base stands if you are planning to do some awesome poses with it.

The HGUC Cruiser Mode Booster is an expansion set that we are looking forward to getting, and hopefully, we would get to use it on our existing HGUC AoZ kit that we have and make it look even more of a badass.

HG 1/144 RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla Next Generation] [Combat Deployment Colors] (HGUC)

Release Date: February 2021
Estimated price: JPY 3,300 (MYR RM 129.74* / USD $ 31.27* / EUR € 26.65*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Like we previously mentioned in our 224th episode back when we talked about the MG Hazel Owsla, this was the version of the TR-1 that we here most looking forward to getting.

Why?

Well, because it would bring us closer to getting the version of the Hazel Owsla with the badass Big Hands equipment, that’s why.

Regardless, this might be one of the most bare-bones versions of the Owsla that we’ve seen to date. Because if the MG version already comes equipped with the Primrose upgrade, this HGUC [Combat Deployment Colors] version (we do wonder why they started on this version for the HGUC) only comes with just the MS.

But even with that said, it is not to say that it doesn’t come with some very badass pieces of equipment.

Because you still do get a lot of very badass stuff to play and pose your HGUC AoZ Hazel Owsla with here. So if you are worried that you might not get your money’s worth with the HGUC version, well worry no more.

Just like its MG counterpart, this is the version that we are most excited to get when it hits our shores this coming February 2021.

Anyways, that concludes our 236th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. These are some pretty fascinating P-Bandai releases, although we have a feeling that P-Bandai might go down the MG F90 route with the HGUC AoZ Hazel Owsla.

Although we might not have any real evidence to back that claim up, however, we can’t shake this feeling that they’re planning to do that here.

Regardless, what do you guys think of these P-Bandai HGUC AoZ announcements after reading our thoughts on these? We do look forward to reading and replying to all of your thoughts on these P-Bandai HGUC AoZ announcements. So don’t be shy to write on your thoughts and feelings in the comment section below.
