Let’s Talk Gundam Merch Vol.01

Talking about Phantoms in Halloween

HELLO!

Welcome to our first edition of our Let’s Talk Gundam Merch segment! After we had a long discussion about it, we finally decided to separate both the Gunpla segment and the Merch segment into two separate posts.

However, the format will remain the same, with us primarily writing about our thoughts and feelings on the upcoming Gundam Merch releases.

And what better way to talk about these Gundam Merch if we didn’t cover the P-Bandai segment in our first edition of this new segment.

And boy, oh, boy, we do have one P-Bandai release that we’ve been aching to write about here.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> EMS-TC02 Phantom Gundam

Release Date: April 2021
Estimated price: JPY 11,000 (MYR RM 436.51* / USD $ 105.11* / EUR € 90.01*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

With the popularity of the Crossbone Gundam manga amongst the Gundam/Gunpla community, we here thought that it would not be long that we would see the most badass MS in the Crossbone Gundam Ghost manga getting incarnated into a proper Gundam Merch.

P-Bandai being what it is sees the potential of this, and they collectively decided that we would be better off getting the Phantom Gundam as a P-Bandai release instead.

Well, we are not mad if they do decide to do so because eventually, the Phantom would evolve and become the most badass variant of the Crossbone. In which we do hope Bandai would give the Ghost the proper release as a retail release instead.

But we here know for a fact that we shouldn’t be too optimistic about it because we all know how P-Bandai ‘loves’ to surprise us.

Regardless, with that said, after spending time analyzing all the Robot Spirits Phantom Gundam’s promotional materials, we do admit that we are quite thoroughly impressed by what we see here.

Because we all here do think that this is one of the most awesome UC MS designs that we’ve seen in a long time. Not to mention it as well has alot of really badass effect parts included in with it as well.

From the outset, you might be thinking that the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Phantom Gundam might be more and less the same as the Crossbone Gundam, and yes, we would admit that it does share some of the same gimmicks as the Crossbone as well.

However, there is one gimmick that it has that is a bit different than your standard Crossbone Mecha Figure, and that it comes with a badass transformation gimmick. Which we do admit is quite an impressive feat, considering it shares many of the same traits as a Normal Crossbone Gundam.

Admittedly we all here do think that the transformation gimmick of the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> is its real selling point here, and not to mention it as well looked badass. Admittedly, looking at it does make us quite interested to see how it would work in real life, and we do hope that none of it would make the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Phantom Gundam to be flimsy.

Overall we do feel like the Robot Spirits <SIDE MS> Phantom Gundam is one of the more interesting releases that we’ve seen so far from the P-Bandai side when it comes down to its Mecha Figure releases. We hope it is as good as it looks, especially considering it is quite an expensive kit.

For that much money, we do feel it would be quite sad if it does end up being a disappointment.

Anyways, that concludes our first edition of the Let’s Talk Gundam Merch segment. We do look forward to doing more of this again soon enough, ha, ha. Just like the gunplas, we do think that there are alot of pretty fascinating Gundam Merch releases out there, and we do hope to be able to cover all of them if possible.

Anyways, we will be back again this coming Tuesday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch related posts for this blog. So do look forward to that :D!

Oh, one more thing before we go, it would be a tremendous help to us all here in the blog if you guys were to leave a like on our posts and or subscribe to the blog if you find yourselves enjoying our gunpla/plamo related posts. We would as well appreciate it if you could help to support us by leaving an upvote on our R/Gunpla posts and by leaving a ‘like’ on our Facebook and Instagram posts or pages!

We as well, are open to any good and bad feedback, so feel free to write away.

We hope that by sharing our love and passion for building and writing about both gunplas and plamos here, that it’ll help inspire you to keep on building or help to reignite that lost passion for the hobby.

We shall see all of you again, and we as well hope that you all here have a splendid day and week ahead! Oh as well, please do have an excellent time building your awesome gunplas there and until next time.

Ciao!
