There is just too much Gunpla goodness in one go!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 245th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be talking about the HUGE Gunpla reveals during the Gunpla EXPO Tokyo 2020 Digital Conference yesterday and today. There is so much awesomeness that we see today, that honestly, we all here were just left both shocked and excited.
So for today, we shall pick 3 of the ones that we are most excited to see more of and continue with the rest in the upcoming segment.
So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 MSN-04II Nightingale (HGUC)
HG 1/144 MSN-04II Nightingale (HGUC)
Release Date: TBC
Estimated price: JPY TBC
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
The very first announcement that made us all excited about is this, the HGUC Nightingale.
Why are we most excited about this particular HG release when there are other more exciting Gunpla release announcements?
Well, that is because some of us feel like the RE100 version of the Nightingale is something that some of us here felt like it’s a bit hard to justify getting. For one, it is a HUGE Gunpla kit, and secondly, for something that builds like a 1/100 scaled HG kit, it is not something that we would want to have to be taking all the space in our home base.
This is the kind of backside that I wouldn’t mind taking up space in the homebase
So this release is something that most of us here think that makes more sense for us to get when compared to its HUGE RE100 version.
The funny thing is, after spending time looking at the HGUC version and taking the time to compare it to its RE100 version, we have a feeling that Bandai knows it too. Because from what we could see here, the HGUC version looks more like a smaller scaled version of its RE100 counterpart.
Honestly, that isn’t a bad thing considering that is what we here prefer to have displayed at the Homebase.
This is one of those times where smaller is definitely better
But even with that said, we do hope that Bandai would do more to the HGUC Nightingale, so it would further convince us to get the HGUC version over its HUGE RE100 version.
Regardless, we are quite aware that the HGUC Nightingale will still be a HUGE gunpla kit. But at the very least, it wouldn’t take as much space as its RE100 version, which does automatically made this the one to go for if you’re interested in getting the Nightingale.
RG 1/144 RX-93-v2 Hi-v Gundam (RG)
RG 1/144 RX-93-v2 Hi-v Gundam (RG)
Release Date: TBC
Estimated price: JPY TBC
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Honestly, the RG Hi-v’s propeller tank design is probably one of the very best ones that we here have seen to date.
The RG Hi-v Gundam is most definitely one of those announcements that we all here were most excited for amongst the rest of the other upcoming releases.
But the thing that made us the happiest about this RG announcement is the fact that this RG kit is going to see release as a retail kit.
Why does that make us happy? Well, that is because we were almost expecting the RG Hi-v to get that P-Bandai treatment, so seeing that the opposite happened may explain our happiness of that said fact.
But we are all even happier to see what the Bandai RG design team managed to do here, because man, we all here are all quite in awe of how badass it looked.
It is really hard to not be impressed by how badass this RG Hi-v looked.
Because even though we’ve seen many iterations of the Hi-v Gundam made into the gunpla form, this RG iteration of the Hi-v is probably one of the very best iterations of the Hi-v that we’ve seen to date. Which admittedly, does help to make us more excited for this upcoming RG Hi-v release.
Although, it does make us wonder if this and the previously release RG v Gundam will be sharing a lot of the same parts? Although we can see the armor bits are a lot different than to what you get with the RG v Gundam, it’s the RG Hi-v’s inner frame that we are more curious to see more of, if we were, to be honest. We do wonder if we’ll see a different inner-frame system with the RG Hi-v, or will it be mostly the same? Time will tell.
But the thing that we are the most curious about after seeing its promotional material is if the upcoming RG Hi-v Gundam parts will look like that out of the box is or will we be expecting this RG kit to come with alot of stickers? Regardless, we are looking forward to learning more about this RG kit in the coming months, not to mention to finally see its official release date posted for us all to look forward to seeing.
MG 1/100 ZGMF-1017 GINN (MG)
MG 1/100 ZGMF-100017 GINN (MG)
Release Date: TBC
Estimated price: JPY TBC
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
That is one fine looking backside you have there GINN
With the kind of reception the MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior was getting, it was to no surprise to us all here that we would see the GINN finally making its way as an MG release.
However, we didn’t expect to see it so soon since we assumed that we would only see the MG GINN released after Bandai finished with all the Zaku Warrior variants first. But if we wouldn’t mind it if they are thinking of releasing this while still churning out the badass ZAFT Zaku variants.
Then again, after reading some unconfirmed sources mentioned and after we did some of our research on this MG kit, we understood why it didn’t take them long to develop the MG GINN. The reason being is that this MG kit shares some of the same inner frame systems that you get with the MG Lunamaria Zaku Gunner Warrior.
The SEED series Zaku I equivalent.
Which does make sense why they decided to announce this so soon, and at the same time, it does make us wonder if that means we can swap parts between the two to make a weird GINN/Zaku Warrior hybrid?
However, that is not the thing that we are most taken by when it comes down to our reasons for wanting to get this SEED MG kit. Because if there is one good reason to get this MG kit, that would be its war-winning looks.
Again we have to commend Bandai’s design team here because they managed to churn out another one of the best-looking MG SEED kits that we’ve seen to date. Not to mention, we do as well want to commend Bandai for deciding to release more SEED Grunt units as an MG release for us to consume.
We really can’t wait to see more of this and as well finally getting it at the Homebase as well.
We do hope that eventually, sometime soon, we would finally get our favorite SEED MS the BABI getting that MG treatment. Heck, at this point, we wouldn’t even mind getting it as an HG release, as long we get them BABI’s as a Gunpla release.
I know some of our Malaysian readers here might be thinking that we are getting it because of its name, and we do want to assure you guys that it’s not. Because we do genuinely like the design of the BABI, and it would be nice to be able to get it in a Gunpla form.
and No we will not be making a custom pink color scheme of the BABI.
Anyways, that concludes our 245th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It has been quite a while that we have so many things to talk about in one Let’s Talk Gunpla episode. Honestly, we were more glad to be able to sit down with the chaps and talk about Gunplas again.
And we all here can’t wait to be spending another whole day to talk about Gunplas again.
Anyways, we will be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch related posts for this blog. So do look forward to that :D!
