Time to talk about those that we missed
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 248th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla, we will be taking the time to talk about two of the upcoming Gunpla release reveals that made its debut during the recent Gunpla EXPO 2020 Tokyo that we missed.
So without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
RG 1/144 XXXG-01W Wing Gundam (RG)
Release Date: TBC
Estimated price: JPY TBC
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Even though we’re all here quite excited with the reveal of the RG Hi-v Gundam, the RG Wing Gundam, however, doesn’t get the same reaction from all of us here.
Why?
Well, it’s because Bandai has already released the RG Wing EW. So that kind of kills our excitement for this one already. Even though one might argue that the EW version isn’t the same RG wing variant as the upcoming RG Wing kit, especially after seeing how awesome the newer RG kits have been.
The RG kit that isn’t doing it for us
But, knowing Bandai, we really can’t help to feel like Bandai wouldn’t make any effort in improving the upcoming RG Wing Gundam. We are expecting this to come with the same prebuild RG inner frame system as the older RG Wing EW version, which the only difference here that it would just come with a much simpler armor design for the RG Wing.
But it is not to say that we all here think that the older RG Wing EW isn’t a good kit. Because honestly, it’s one of those older RG kits that we would consider to be one of the best that we’ve built. Honestly, it’s not like it’s a bad thing if the upcoming RG Wing uses the older RG Wing EW frame. It’s just that we kind of hope that they would do more to make us interested in getting it.
Even though, yes, we are kind of expecting this to share many of the same traits as its previous release the RG wing Ew, but it is not to say that there isn’t anything new done here, because as you can see there is.
However, if we do end up being wrong, then it would be interesting to see what changes that’ll make the purchase worth it for some of us here that have owned the RG Wing EW.
Although, we do have a feeling that we might see Bandai is indicating to us all here that they might be releasing more RG Wing kits soon.
(P-Bandai) MG 1/100 Gundam F90 Mission pack I Type (Jupiter Battle Specification)(MG)
(P-Bandai) MG 1/100 Gundam F90 Mission Pack I Type (Jupiter Battle Specification)(MG)
Release Date: TBC
Estimated price: JPY 2,200 (MYR RM 87.00* / USD $ 21.22* / EUR € 17.88*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Back when we were covering all the upcoming MG in our 246th episode, we do regret missing this one up. Because we was already quite overwhelmed by all the badass reveals of all the other MG kits, so, it was quite unfortunate that this particular reveal went under the radar for us.
Why did we feel bad for missing this one up?
Well, firstly, that is because we have seen this one release alongside the recently released P-Bandai MG F90 II with the I type Mission Pack.
Secondly, that is because this isn’t a release under the MG F90 mission pack line up, no. Because for those that follow the Crossbone Gundam Steel 7 manga, you would recognize this variant to be the one piloted by Minoru Suzuki.
So yeah, this might be P-Bandai’s first non-Ver. Ka MG Crossbone release that we’ve seen to date.
This is what happens when one combines the F90 with the GP02 Nuclear capabilities and Zeta Gundam’s wave rider mode
But even with that said, it does mean that this is just an I Type upgrade that you can use on the MG F90, even though it does prove to us that you can do that on the MG 90 frame, with some modifications, of course. Because despite the fact it uses the same shield unit, the same Leg armor bits, and the MG F90II’s shoulder armor, this version of the I type equipment does have one thing that differentiates it from the standard version.
What would that might be, you ask?
Well, for this version of the I Type, it comes with a Nuclear missile attached shot lancer.
Yes, just when we thought the I Type Mission pack couldn’t be even more of a badass, P-Bandai managed to now with this version.
Seriously, we ought to give the creator of the Crossbone Gundam Steel 7 one of these days with a gold medal o badassery. Because man, he is insane.
Honestly, we are pretty excited to see its official announcements, so we see more of what more it could do and what more stuff comes included with this upcoming P-Bandai release.
Hopefully, this isn’t the only thing that we’ll get from this
Anyways, that concludes our 248th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. As you can already tell, there are still a lot more Gunpla kits that are still, so the next ones that we will be covering are all the ‘in the prototype phase’ reveals made during the Gundam EXPO 2020 Tokyo event. So do look forward to that!
Anyways, we will be back again this coming Saturday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch related posts for this blog. So do look forward to that :D!
