Finally, its Retail sides turn now.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 262nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking a look at the HUGE retail release announcements made recently. Finally, after a somewhat long wait, we get to see and learn more of the badass Retail Gunpla EXPO Tokyo 2020 reveals.
But best of all, we finally learn the exact release date for some of the revealed kits that we are looking forward to getting.
That is why we shall start by writing about the ones we are most looking forward to getting first before moving on to the rest of the announcement.
So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 GAT-02L2 Dagger L (HGCE)

Simple but at the same time, badass
The HGCE Dagger L is one of those HG kits that we are looking forward to seeing and learning more of it after seeing the reveal a few weeks back. So we were quite glad to go through this and see all of the sweet, sweet details of this upcoming HGCE kit.
From the looks of it, we do think that this HGCE Dagger L is a pretty amusing HG release indeed. Because quite honestly, we do find ourselves liking its simple but yet menacing looks. Not to mention, it is as well nice to see the gimmicks that we hoped to see with this release seem to be confirmed here.
What gimmicks that we are referring to here? Well, that, my friends, would be the interchangeable backpack system. Yes, we know that this shouldn’t be a no-brainer addition to this kit since the HG SEED 105 Dagger and the 105 Slaughter Dagger comes with that ability. But it’s nice to see the HGCE Dagger L come with the option to do so without a need to use a converter peg.
This is the gimmick that we are really looking forward to be playing around with as soon as we get the HGCE Dagger L
But then again, from the looks of it, it does look like you could only use the existing HGCE striker packs. We aren’t sure if you can re-use the existing HG SEED ones on this. Maybe one of these days, we’ll try and see if that is possible.
Regardless, this is a release that we all here are really looking forward to getting as soon as it hits our shores this Coming April.
MG 1/100 ZGMF-1017 GINN (MG)
MG 1/100 ZGMF-1017 GINN (MG)
Release Date: April 2021
Estimated price: JPY 4,730 (MYR RM 183.50* / USD $ 45.51* / EUR € 37.16*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
Besides the ZAFT’s Zaku series, the GINN is definitely one of the other SEED series grunt units that looked pretty freaking badass.
Aaah, yes, the MG GINN.
Honestly, we do have some mixed feelings on this one.
Why?
Well, that would be because it shares many of the same inner frame systems like the previously released MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior. Which some of us here do think that its inner-frame system looked horrible. Not to mention, lazy as well.
Although, admittedly, we haven’t yet worked on one. So, honestly, we do not know if the MG Lunamaria itself is a fun MG kit to build or not. So maybe as soon as we do, we might change our minds on this as soon as we get to work on the MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior.
So yeah, that is one of the things that is somewhat making us reconsider our stance in getting it.
There is a lot of pretty familiar and simple bits taken from the previously release MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior that we see here.
However, at the same time, there is a lot of good that we see in MG GINN’s press release that makes us WANT to get it. Because even though it does have bits taken from the MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior, but at the same time, it does as well have a lot of original inner frame bits that looked pretty freaking fantastic.
Honestly, as we spend time looking at it, we wonder why they didn’t just put in the same level of effort here? We do find that the level of inconsistency seen here is really driving us nuts.
That level of detail is something that we love about it.
Anyways, the inner-frame detail is not the only thing that we liked about it. That is because we are as well a fan of the actual overall look of this MG GINN. Because just like the MG Lunamaria’s Gunner Zaku Warrior, the MG GINN overall looked pretty freaking fantastic. The more time we spend looking at the insane detail, the more we are salivating to the idea of panel lining the whole bit up. Which we would admit, is a HUGE selling point for us.
Not to mention it as well comes with ALOT of different weapons and types of equipment.
That is a lot of stuff that you are getting here.
Funnily enough, after taking the time to write this down, we now feel more confident in the idea of getting this MG kit. That is because we found out that the good really outweighs the bad here.
So yeah, we would be getting this kit as soon as it hits our shores for sure.
Anyways, that concludes our 262nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Yes, we are aware that there are still alot of kits that we haven’t managed to cover here in today’s post. That is why we will continue to cover some of them in the upcoming Let’s Talk Gunpla segment next week! More specifically, on the next coming Saturday (hopefully) with more Let’s Talk Gunpla posts for this blog, so do look forward to that!
