‘Glory of the losers’ Expansion pack? Nice!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 273rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to talk about P-Bandai’s very recently made Gunpla release announcement. An announcement made on the day that we were all on our CNY holidays, which we would admit, was a bit annoying if we were, to be honest.
However, after spending time with it during that long holiday, we admit that we are starting to warm up to the idea of getting it.
Anyways, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?
MG 1/100 Gundam Wing Glory of the Losers Expansion set (MG)
Release Date: May 2021
Estimated price: JPY 3,520 (MYR RM 134.78* / USD $ 33.41* / EUR € 27.54*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation
We were all quite surprised to see P-Bandai decide to announce this expansion set. Because knowing P-Bandai, we would see them release whole ‘new’ versions of their existing line-up. So, they could make alot of money milking the Gundam Wing fanbase.
So seeing them release just expansion parts set only for the existing Retail and their P-Bandai kits is actually a pleasant surprise. It’s nice to know that P-Bandai still has a heart.
Although we would admit that there is a slight catch here. Why? Well, that is because, to make use of all this awesomeness, you have to own two of the previously released P-Bandai Gundam Wing MG kits, the MG Altron and the MG Tallgeese II. Which is a bit of a challenge considering both of them are quite hard to find nowadays.
But thankfully, if you haven’t had the chance to get these two P-Bandai Exclusive MG Wing kits, well, P-Bandai have you covered there, fam. Because they just reopened the pre-order for those two MG kits as well. So you now could get all of them in one go. That is as long you’re willing to fork out quite a bit of money for all of them.
Anyways, so what do we think of this P-Bandai exclusive MG Gundam Wing expansion set?
Well, we would admit we are quite impressed by what we see here. The design of all the weapons and equipment in this expansion set is quite tastefully simple. Not too overly ambitious, but yet still manages to look badass. But the thing that we liked about this is that they managed to make all of these new additions look like they belonged to that MG kit.
That is an impressive feat, considering that the Tallgeese II’s heat Rod is quite hard to make not look more stand out than the MS.
But yes, they manage to pull that off, well.
Quite frankly, this is really something that we here really wouldn’t mind getting if we already owned the MG Altron and the MG Tallgeese II. But then again, since P-Bandai did reopen the pre-order for both MG kits, maybe it is not a bad idea to get them now?
Well, that is if we have the money for it. But since we don’t well, maybe we’ll get one of em, atleast.
Anyways, that concludes our 273rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice to be back writing again after taking one long holiday off from everything. But it was even nicer to see P-Bandai do something that is out of the ordinary.
Yes, we’re aware that this is old news by now, but since we just got back from a holiday, we’re planning to take it slow. We will for sure be back writing about all of em in the upcoming segment for sure.
Oh, speaking of which, we will be back again next coming Thursday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!
