Mediocre-ly good
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 274th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will now be taking the time to talk about the P-Bandai’s two new Gunpla release announcements. Yes, we are aware of how late to the party we are here, but again it is nice to spend time talking about these two P-Bandai releases.
So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

With the release of Quattro Banjeena’s Ver.1.5 variant back in August last year, we are not surprised to see this version finally seeing the light of day. But the thing is, we thought that this version would get that retail release since Quattro’s variant already got that P-Bandai treatment. So, yeah, admittedly, we were all quite pissed off to see P-Bandai do this at first.
But after seeing all the reviews for the HGUC Quattro’s version floating around, we aren’t all that sure now if that is such a bad thing. Why?
Well, that is because most reviewers seem to agree that the P-Bandai version does very little to improve the old retail’s HGUC Rick Dias frame.
This is not somthing that we would expect to be blowing our minds
But since we haven’t found ourselves lucky enough to get both the retail version and the P-Bandai one, we can’t really say for sure if that is the case here.
Regardless, I’m sure you guys here are more interested in hearing our thoughts on this instead of hearing us rant about this P-Bandai HGUC kit.
Well, despite the reviews that we read and watched on the P-Bandai’s HGUC Quattro Ver.1.5 version and knowing that this would be more and less the same thing, honestly? We still find ourselves liking what we see here.
But yet we still find ourselves to be quite a fan of this HGUC kit
Yes, it may have a lot of the same parts inherited from the earlier version here and there.
Yes, the upgrades are very minimal.
And yes, it’s going to be both expansive and very hard to get as well.
But yet we are still quite keen on getting it. Why?
Well, for one, we are a fan of this MS design, and secondly, it’s not like the standard retail version is easy to get by nowadays.
We’d prolly have much better luck getting the P-Bandai version than the retail one if we were, to be honest.
So, yeah, I think those are pretty good reasons for us to consider getting this P-Bandai HGUC kit. That is unless Bandai has plans to release a fully updated version of this HGUC kit sometime soon.
But since that doesn’t seem to be the case, we’ll get this one first, for now.
HG 1/144 MS-14J/BR Gelgoog Vertex (HGUC)

The best and the sexiest Gelgoog variant finally makes its debut as a Gunpla release.
We are quite surprised that it took P-Bandai this long to release the HGUC Vertex. With the popularity of the MSV-R Manga, one would’ve thought Bandai would as well put the same level of merch support on this as much as they did with the Thunderbolt Manga series.
But then again, the manga release is pretty slow, so maybe that is why.
Regardless, it is nice to see that P-Bandai still cares enough to make that effort to keep on releasing kits from the MSV-R manga.
So, with that out of the way, what do we think of this HGUC variant of the Gelgoog?
So yes what do we think of this sexy thing
Well, quite frankly, it does look quite badass. Even though it is just the same base HGUC Gelgoog with the new weird Regelgu’s shoulder armor/backpack hybrid unit attached to it. But it still looked quite badass.
Although, admittedly, that is not the only reason why we like this kit.
Because this comes with weapons from the other P-Bandai Gelgoog releases, and they as well included the HGUC Jagd Doga’s Beam Gatling gun in this release. Which we admit, we were quite taken by if we were, to be honest.
Yes, that is a lot of stuff you’re getting here.
But the thing that sold us the idea of getting this HGUC kit is its badass color scheme. Yes, we admit that we immediately found ourselves enamored with this P-Bandai kit as soon as we all saw the insanely sexy color scheme of this HGUC Gelgooog Vertex.
There is nothing sexier than an MS in that red/Black color scheme on it. Especially so on an MS that comes with a Backpack/shoulder armor hybrid attached to its back.
That is why this HGUC right now kit sits firmly on top of our 2021 Gunpla want list. Yes, we hope that we’ll be one of the lucky ones to be able to get this version as soon as it hits our shores.
We really hope that we’re lucky enough to snag one. Because this is one badass-looking Gelgoog.
Anyways, that concludes our 274th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Honestly, we were all quite surprised to find ourselves falling for these two P-Bandai releases. Because when we first heard about them, we were kind of unsure if these two kits would be something decent.
Even though, yes, we admit that we still think that these two P-Bandai HGUC kits wouldn’t be something that would blow our minds. But at the very least, both of them looked awesome enough to make us forget that they’re not going to be that good.
So yeah, we are going to get both of them regardless.
Anyways, we will be back again next coming Thursday (hopefully) with more Gunpla/ Gundam merch-related posts for this blog, so yes, please do look forward to that!
And yes, we will talk about that one more P-Bandai MG kit announcement in this Saturday’s post for sure.
